Mr. O'Neill, My father was one of the people that was diagnosed with cancer post 9/11, and ultimately was proven to be as a result of 9/11 via the 9/11 Victims Foundation. He had no business to be there, helping pull people out of the rubble while in his suit coming from court, but he was there. He was a lawyer for a HUGE insurance company and was there at ground-zero leaving a meeting with his boss. He just reacted, and started helping pull people out of the rubble and get people to safety. It took hours before he was able to call home and let my mother and I know he was okay and that he rented a UHAUL truck and was driving it back to Omaha with his boss. A couple years later he was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately passed away. As a result, I was filled with a lot of rage for a few years that I was able to suppress via different outlets, but I will NEVER forget how I felt that night hearing the president come across the screen to let us know that an operation was conducted resulting in the death of Osama Bin Laden. I was in college with my 2 closest friends in our house playing video games at the dining room table together and the announcement came across the TV. I recall distinctly just feeling this huge weight of anger, and resentment lifted off of my shoulders. I locked myself in my room and cried for probably hours, and it was the most satisfying cry and probably the hardest I've ever cried in my life. Thank you for bringing justice to my family, and many others like it around the world. I wasn't born in the United States, I was adopted at a young age and acquired my citizenship years later. But, it's Americans like you that make me proud to be here, living the dream. Edit / Thank you all for the comments. I actually screenshotted your comments etc and showed them to my mother (she's NOT tech savvy at all, bless her heart) and she is more than thankful for your responses and kind words. I guess I have always looked as my father as MY hero, but never as A hero.. if that makes sense. Like, one that other people would refer to as a hero. But, hearing it from other people really, REALLY makes sense. Thank you again.

@@theroachden6195 Thank you man. Sometimes I wonder where I'd be if I wasn't here. I don't exactly know the state of my living conditions when I lived in my birth country (I COULD if I wanted to, but I choose not to because tbh I'm more than content with my life), but the thought has crossed my mind more than once. But, it doesn't stay for long because as I've said before, this is the BEST country in the world. I am afforded so many opportunities to succeed and to thrive here. I live in the heart of the midwest, and even still being someone of a different color, I still feel like I get treated fairly, and respectfully. Sure, I've had my instances of racism, but they are few and far between. And, each time I do encounter that, soon after I encounter a new instance that again, solidifies that this country and it's people are where I want to raise my family.

I know there’s a lot of controversy about the SEALs and the Bin Laden raid in particular, but one thing I’ve noticed - and maybe it’s just from the podcasts I listen to - but the Team guys always seem to be really respectful of other units, both SOF and conventional. Rob speaks very highly of the AFSOC guys and the Rangers here. Jocko always speaks very highly of the soldiers and Marines he worked with in Ramadi. There are plenty of others, I just can’t think of them off the top of my head. But I feel like I hear a lot more bashing of SEALs by other units than vice versa. It could just be coincidence from the people I’ve heard on podcasts, but it is interesting.

Personally, I consider anyone who is dedicated enough to get through Navy SEAL training or any of the other top Tier 1 Special Forces programs as real heros because it's a tough life dedicated to serving our country at the point of the spear. It would be incredibly interesting to hear from guys who were both Navy SEALS in DEVGRU AND Delta Force! I'd love to hear what their opinions are on the differences between the two and which if either DEVGRU vs DELTA Force which they would consider as the more difficult, better trained (if there is 1 better than the other) and all the related stories and info that would be great!

Had the pleasure of arranging a speaking engagement with Rob a few years ago in Reno. The 1,500 people in the audience didn't know he was first up and the agenda. He lit the room up with a 90 minute presentation on leadership, with a very effective video running behind him as he narrated it. He fired up the room, energy that lasted for the 3 days of the conference.

Glad I left Reno, way too many gullible sheep in that city now. Rob is FOS, try checking out Matt's version, way less drama and less bullshit, and his story doesn't change like Rob's does.
