Ye-ahhh same, but it's not the tropes that need to be original, but the way they're carried out. Plus, Mistborn def be having "overused" tropes, but that doesn't deter from the story and offers a solid base for the characters to grow from. It's actually a pre-tty good ex of how tropes ≠ bad. I only point that out bc... well, I did XD

I've got one: a bard, down on his luck, turns to necromancy in an effort to become immortal. He succeeded, but centuries of undeath have broken his already weak moral compass, and now his only drive is to use is knowledge of dark magic to put on "performances" so that he can always be the center of attention.

Hawkwing's emoji pitches (5:10) Anarchist alien from the Moon Astronomer who ends up doing journalism Three monkeys in a trenchcoat who hide a chicken in their top hat for nefarious reasons. Or for Stuart Little reasons. A buff guy who owns and runs a media corporation but doesn't know how to use a calculator and instead uses an abacus. Despite this, he's very successful. Engineer whose goal is to build a rocket on her own to escape Earth. Talkative robot engineer. Yes, as in they're a robot, and yes as in they engineer robots. Detective hired to solve an embezzlement case, with some time pressure. Astronaut who sacrifices herself at the end of the movie to save Earth from being Alderaan'd. A robot and a weelchair-bound human who are in love. There's tension, probably from outside their relationship. Scientist who figures out a gene therapy application for helping amputees adjust to their prosthetics. Aliens who come to Earth to steal call bells. A world traveler who has volcano powers. A heist crew: a traditionally trained ninja, an astronaut, a robot, a telemetry professional, an ex-military paratrooper, and an alien. A character who's used as bait for alien invaders to get them into a trap where this character infects them with a super-plague. A vehicle expert. A mad scientist who hatches a plan to plunge Halley's Comet into the sun.

I really like the "Weekend at Bernies sidekick" idea. I could just see it. The Hero dies during a mission (either because of a stupid chance or because the Sidekick messed up big time) and then the Sidekick just goes around pretending to be the Hero because he feels super guilty or because he doesn't want the Hero's legacy to be tarnished. In the end the Sidekick is actually recognized as a Hero in their own right.

Referring to "Battlebitch's" comment, there's a manga similar to that called "Goblin Slayer". It's a story where an adventurer only hunts and kills goblins despite having the rank and skill to takle much higher level threats. The adventurers reasons for only killing low level goblins are both personal and very logical. It's not the best written but I find it very entertaining to read.

Ive successfully deciphered the emoji pitch...youre welcome. There are aliens on the moon. An astrophysicist grad student sees something up there and documents it. She takes it to her professors but they disregard it. They ignore everything she says because they are too chicken. But she's strong, records her findings, tells everyone, wins a nobel prize and a grant for her university. She begins work on a spaceship to go to the moon to say hi to the aliens. Her ship takes a hit in the landing and the aliens have their robot help fix it. She begins searching around, tries to steal some alien valuables and needs to escape in a hurry. The aliens realize this, shoot her ship as its flying away and She gets sucked out into space and freezes to death. The robot, realizing this earth woman was his one true love, grows emotional for the first time. He begins upgrading his robot body, making it stronger, like the death machine in the days of old. The aliens meanwhile land on earth and all of earth is in a great panic. The aliens are launching attacks against all the great cities of the world. The twin sister of the grad student is training to be a ninja when the robot finds her and they set off to stop the alien menace. They all start kung fu fighting the aliens until they all have bloody noses and are deceased. The robot and his new lover the ninja twin have the first cyborg baby, named Anchor, and live on a farm. The ninja twin finishes her autobiography dedicated to 'my loving sister' as a new alien ship lands on earth and the team crack their knuckles to do it again.

I think you've almost got it. The Grad Student turned Astronaut/Thief doesn't die. The Robot (true love) saves her by turning her into a cyborg. The aliens still invade Earth looking for their stolen artifact, but Newly Strong Cyborg Woman and Robot Lover defeat them before stealing the alien's ship to fly off on more adventures.

6:15 was done by Rick Cook in his Wiz Biz series (late '90's), but only did two books. Could be an extension of that. Also, Wen Spencer uses a similar concept for her Tinker series.

Dan. What you're describing in the pseudo Mr. Freeze scenario is just an anti-villain. Also, being willing to end creation because the one you loved dies is not idyllic love, it is psychosis.

Aww don't have a twitter but I have a pitch! Medieval fantasy setting. Insane old man commenting on events of his time, only sometimes pitching in to help when there's no other choice. Turns out he's a sage that's crazy because succeeded in his lifelong quest for a spell of infinite knowledge. the spell mentally connected him to our time and world's internet. Basically wizard Bo Burnham in a fantasy world.

Two series that exist with those pitches: Project Transhuman by J.S Moron (robots create / revive first human in thousands of years). Magic 2.0 / off to be a wizard (magic is actually code in a metafile controlling our universe)

I’ve had an idea for a character for a while as well: a long dead skeleton waking up in the middle of a field with no recollection of his past or who he is at all. Traveling the world with just the clothes on his back trying to figure out the world around him as well as himself, while also desperately trying not to scare people with his appearance.

I think I've encountered a graphic novel series that's kind of like that. It stars a skeleton bard (non magical variety of bard unfortunately) and his mute slime buddy and features a song about a man traveling to Epoli. I wish I could remember the title but its been a few years.

I had an idea for a story a while ago while thinking about words. Illiterate little Russian girl in the eighteenth or nineteenth century is lost in the wilderness and finds a ruined abbey. Inside she finds an undead monk who helps her find her way back to civilization while also teaching her speak, read and write in Koine Greek.

part 1 has my character start as a hero and fall in love and face a conflict i havent figured out yet. the character is sort of a ball of rage that bottles it tightly, until it bursts and they kill their love interest. part 2 has them face the guilt that that brings, and the fear that others see them as a monster. they distance themselves from other loved ones and become more and more volatile, violent, and callous. part 3 (which could be combined with part 2, it is just essential that the pov switches) switches pov to a one of said loved ones, who has to take down the previous pov character because they have fully become the villain

First, do another one, but this time you ask the yt comment section. Second, here is my concept: A person in a life threatening, but well paying job that loses his family but gets help by his/her co-workers. But those co-workers die and after he/she/whatever lost both family AND friends still doing the job, but the emotional aftereffects cause trouble to the character.
