Ive never been down this road and sure enough we landed two scores so cant complain!
We burn mostly ash and cherry here in NE Pennsylvania. There’s a big dead twin stem cherry leaning on 3 dead ash trees. I’m drooling just waiting on a wind storm to topple them all. It’s a death trap now though

Oh man that sounds like a goldmine once nature lets it go! I havent come across a lot of ash! NH is mostly pines, maples, then oaks. At least thats the last I heard! Ash is around but not as common overall
Take a small peice use the mill make Mrs Homestead jay a nice cutting board , best wood is free wood

Thats a great idea! The last few logs (still there) would make mint slabs!
Wish we had more of it around here in eastern Iowa. Its great stuff to deal with.

We have it sporatically around NH! NH is mostly pine (white/red/spruce) and maple, then oak I believe is the top 3.
Time for a smoke shack!

Havent been back yet but its still there. Its actually harder to see now that the pile isnt so high lol
Cherry is great. Looks like a piece of wire sticking out of one of the pieces while you were in the bed of the truck.

Yeah I hit some metal somewhere early on. lost the edge on the echo
Hey J, gotta question. I live here in Germany and was wondering if drying split wood for three years before you burn, like they do here, is the same for back in the States for optimal efficiency. Wood is pretty expensive nowadays, and finding seasoned wood is like pulling teeth. I've been harvesting my own for a couple of years in a forest near me but haven't been able to harvest enough to be able to cure it cure it like the Grrmans say I should. I still keep the house warm but probably not optimal.

Hello my German friend. 6 months split wood with decent sun and wind access should be fine! That’s my minimum time I let wood cure before I sell. 3 years is way to much. It’s not a bad thing but anything under 20% moisture content is good for burning!

@@BarGardenEat buy a moisture meter. They help determine the moisture content in wood. Some hardwood drys faster then others.
Hi what model echo did you Use. Currently looking at buying a mid size saw.

I believe I was running the Husky 576 in this video but I rock the CS 490 and CS 590. id recommend both lol but if you cant get both spend the extra hundred and get the 590 its a beast mid size saw! Run the echo red armour oil in it with GOOD fuel ( non ethanol if you can) and it will rip!
how many loads you get if cherry wood did you get

We got a ton! A cord of wood we will sell and then a ton of boiler wood!
Nice score. Do you have much sour cherry around? Of the hundreds of cherry logs I've seen on KZread, I think only one was sour
