Спорт

I purchased a commuter helmet mostly for the visor. When the days are shorter, the sun is directly in my eyes most of my commute. It does the trick.

One thing you didn't mention that I have experienced is that a visor (peak) can interfere with your forward view on a drop bar bike with a more head down riding position. On my upright commuter bike, it is a convenience.

Like the screens covering the front vents on the commuter helmet. Definitely would help in Florida during love bug season.

They're all the same token protection, so might as well get a cheap one from wish.. if you constantly put yourself in dangerous situations when cycling at 10 mph on a shared path.

Thanks. I like the urban helmet. The main reason is the urban helmet will not allow bugs to enter and get stuck inside. Drives me nuts.

I chose a time trial helmet, because it is good for cold weather. Road helmets are designed to dissipate heat, which makes no sense in Winter.

I pretty much wear the same helmet regardless of what I'm riding, Road, Mountain, gravel, cyclocross, TT... All the same helmet while training or riding. The only time I change helmet is when I'm racing, we just simply a lighter helmet. You're making choosing a helmet way way too complicated. You choose a helmet on how well does it fit, and what you want to spend. I also recommend getting a brightly colored helmet like yellow for visibility.

I won't waste a dime on a helmet. I don't believe they much if anything to protect from injury and they direct the sweat straight into my eyes which ruins my bike rides. Mountainbikers need helmets but road bike riding nope.

No way, dude! Any cyclist can get thrown over the bars in various circumstances, from potholes to mechanical failures to getting hit by a car. If there's a risk of crashing-which there certainly is in road riding-then yes, a helmet is necessary.

Friend of me slipped with his bike just some days ago. Street was dirty and a bit wet. He said that is was happening so fast that he just had no time to use his arms to catch his body. His head did it. Thankfully he used a helmet which reduced the damage to a light concussion. Helmet broke but his head is okay. There are many situations a helmet won’t help you, but why risk something like that?

@@juliuslirr9635 Because all throughout life you'll take risks. What enjoyment would one get out of life if there was a safety step to our every move and we took advantage of it. We can't predict when, how, or what if something is going to happen to change our lives. I enjoy riding a bike a whole lot more without a helmet and I don't want to be harassed by some moron who thinks he/she needs to protect me.
