The best thing to do for apples for those who don’t want brown apples is to soak the apples in salt water for 5 minutes then rinse. They won’t taste salty at all and it keeps better than lemon juice or any of the other “tricks”. They will keep a good 12 hours without turning. I’ve put them on charcuterie boards and the last so well.

Unless you have a sensitive kid who will taste the salt...but he likes the lemon..

I've always tried to pack snacks and lunches but the kids here are bottomless pitts 🤣. We'd go through the entirety of what you got with our 4 by dinner time. We always find ourselves hitting grocery stores half way through a trip haha!

For apples I use an apple slicer and then pull them all back up into the shape of the apple - core included - and wrap a rubber band around it!

Love the snack ideas! We're planning to visit Florida, this will help with ideas when we get down there! Can you recommend some great places and restaurants to visit other than Disney?

Not only is it cheaper but way safer ,cleaner and healthier. Now if they didn't have potty and collect all the germs. I do have a bathroom bag,our own tp, tolit covers , germ x, towel paper. And if their under 10 mom or dad will take them and they touch nothing using paper towels to open doors!!!

Yes! The germs 🤢 some of those restrooms are concerning lol!

We were going from Texas to New York for Thanksgiving..that got canceled...so we ate all the junk food. If I had packed like you(which is great) I would have a riot in the car.🤷‍♀️

Lol well we do love our Chick fil A stops and yummy hotel breakfasts, this just keeps us from 24/7 junk!

How long do you drive in one day? To pack for the way home or just go to the store before heading home? Do they manage their own snacks as when they are out to bad? We have a 19 hour road trip coming up with 5 kids plus me being pregnant- so I’m starting to wonder what we where thinking!

We usually drive 9-10 hours a day but with stretch breaks and such that takes us like 12 hours haha. We’ve never really pushed them past that. Yes, same deal, hit the store for the drive home! Yep, when you’re out, too bad, BUT it’s a lot of snacks so they’ve never run out considering that we also stop for dinner.

really nice! what a pro! do you prepare books, toys etc for your kids or are they responsible for taking them? (or maybe they just don't want it?)

I bring sticker books and things, they have nintendos and Annie colors, etc. but nothing too crazy planned!
