ROAD TO SEMA! First 4,000 Miles in My New Mustang Dark Horse
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is how you break in a brand new Mustang; 4,000 miles over 10 days to SEMA! Along the way we've got collections, test drives, meeting @GasMonkeyGarage @tavarish @AlexChoi1 and more, destroying my tires, and plenty of fuel stops and State borders... LET'S DO THIS!
Kicking off with around 100 miles on the clock of my brand new Ford Mustang Dark Horse in Chicago, Illinois, the journey ahead takes us to a resting figure over 4,000 miles at the Ceramic Pro Booth at SEMA in Las Vegas, Nevada. In total we have 14 States to drive through with a complicated detour down to Florida before going cross-country to Sin City.
In advance of the trip getting underway, the new Shmeemobile has been to Ceramic Pro Chicago, an Elite Dealer, for installation of the Ultimate Armor Package consisting of Kavaca paint protection film and a further ION coating. However, fully prepped and ready, the mission to make it the highest mileage customer owned Dark Horse begins!
Setting off from Chicago, the first destination is Nashville, to meet with my friends @AlexChoi1 @458destroyer and @KellerMoore for some convoy fun. Then after a laundry stop we're back on the road towards Florida and checking in on @tavarish and his flooded McLaren P1 rebuild before a visit to ECD Auto Design. With some long legs ahead of us we're crossing the country towards Texas and compulsory visits to @HennesseyPerformanceF5 for some tire smoking - resulting in a disaster and a new set needed. The longest legs are still to come with the mission over to Arizona and a visit to @CreativeBespoke to meet with @GasMonkeyGarage and ultimately the last leg up into Las Vegas.
This is a trip that combines really enjoying a brand new car, visiting plenty of friends and collaborations along the way, with ample car fun, test drives, collections, tire burning, and so much more - living the Mustang dream!
Thanks for watching, Tim

As an American nothing about this drive surprised me... It's truly insane driving around this country lol Defensive driving is crucial to getting around without getting smashed into

In America they practically GIVE people a drivers license. No skills or training required. And if you dont have one by the time you are 18, in many places, you can simply go over and pay for one.

@@captain_context9991 lol yeah it’s not difficult to obtain. Luckily I used to work for a public transit service and it required that I take a number of defensive driving courses and other trainings. Everyone should have to do that. We’d surely see less fatalities from accidents.

This is the type of video that we needed on previous US tours, cause I complained several times how you are jumping from garage to garage, but we don't see anything in between 😁😁 This is a great way to sum it all up, I approve this video wholeheartedly, excellent! 👏👌

I couldn't agree more, I enjoy the in between parts, even as silly as where to eat as I also like these long road trips
Been hoping for this as been eagerly watching all the snippets across social media. Grab a brew here we go.

Tim, as an American I cannot tell you just how happy it makes me to see how happy this car makes you. Such a great adventure! Thank you for sharing
Thanks for all the content Tim. I've been looking forward to this type of video. Hope you're enjoying your time over here. I absolutely love the new Mustang, and good call with the gloss ppf over the black. Looks incredible!

Shmee I’m glad that you made it out of the buc-ee’s in Alabama, at first I was like why a honk of the horn, then I realize that the idiot was not in his lane so, glad the dark horse wasn’t damaged.
Another classic road trip. I did loads when i was younger: 3 week trip around the rocky mountain states (8000 miles), from UK to Tromso and back in 2 weeks (6000 miles), uk to Gibraltar: regular weekend trips from S. Wales to The Lakes: i always ended up sellings cars well over 100k miles. Love watching others doing road trips 😊😊😊
I’m looking forward to watching this! Definitely need more long videos like this when you do road trips 💯
I'm heading to Las Vegas tomorrow to celebrate my brothers 70th birthday. Only a 4 hour drive for me. My hotel reservation is right next to the Sema show so I hope I can get through the traffic to the strip!
Ill be honest I was not exited to see how long this video was until I started watching. Now that i am done, I know i could have watched at least 1 more hour. Thank you for all your hard work and sharing it with us. ❤❤ God bless you and your team brother.
The area by the Mississippi/Louisiana border, where you encountered a rain shower, is the place that has the fastest cloud growth of anywhere in the world. You can watch a shower go from nothing to a full thunderstorm in 15 minutes. It's why the American military have there Meteorology school there.
Love the mustang content!

Awesome to see you having an adventure in our country. I think many in the US who don't travel much forget how much there is to see and do if you're just willing to drive for a day or even just hours. The Dark Horse is awesome too!! Love the look of the new Mustang and all Ford is doing with it (other than that laggy infotainment of course lol)
My apologies for the Chattanooga construction traffic! This has truly been a local nuisance for weeks!
What a time and effort went in to making this video. Thanks for sharing! Fun to see so much of the USA as an European.
Amazing trip. Thanks for taking us along. Enjoy SEMA.
this was a lot of work!!! very much appreciated Tim,,, I absolutely loved it! I watched all of it without skipping a second! waiting for the cost video, such videos are extremely resourceful, giving the fact that I also love to do long road trips, thank you once more and keep up the good work!
So good to watch some good "real" automotive content. A relief after that trainwreck that DDE posted earlier. Thank you Shmee
As I watch every scenario on the roads you experience, from traffic, to weather, to other cars and drivers; for your international audience, I keep thinking, Welcome to America! I've driven a great deal in Europe, and some in Asia. What will strike you most on long drives over here are the number of big trucks. On some stretches of Interstate, they easily outnumber cars. Whether you go across the country East to West on one of 5 or 6 main Interstates or North to South on another 8 or 10, this is a beautiful and diverse country to do a driving tour. This is an excellent docu-movie Tim. Having been down every route you've just taken, over the years, I feel you are capturing excellent snaps of the many, many miles it takes to explore this country. You just keep doing it right on your channel. Cheers!
Road trips I absolutely love. It's very enjoyable when you're just rolling and meeting up with friends along the way. Be safe and great journey.
Awesome I’ve been very much looking forward to this upload! The shorts in IG have been a great teaser to what looks like an immense road trip in an immense car 💪
I always enjoy your epic adventures! This was another great journey! Thanks for letting us ride along!
Yes, that was length of video I was looking for. I waited for this summarise video after it was mentioned on beginning of this tour. I also agree with others, we missed vlog style videos after this longer run between all these garages. Yes, those are good too, but this long format "after" longer US tour is something different. It's also good to see that signature "Hi guys I'm Shmee" is back. I also think moving it further between opening sentences was a good move. It grown on me and I think intro right now sounds better. Now it sounds like from some entertainment show, in good way.
I've always enjoyed the content Shmee gives us. His taste in cars is perfect. And the settings he picks is sublime 👌

I love this kind of vids. You need to do some more in the future 😊 enjoy the SEMA
I feel so relaxed watching this whole road trip journey.
As an American unfortunately a majority of people here lack common sense and any awareness at all resulting in bad driving, more accidents, more traffic and driving without lights on. Glad you made out well in the end shmee!
It's wild that even though I've lived in America my whole life, Tim has likely been to more states than me and maybe even driven more miles than me. Love to see it!
These kinds of videos is the best you do shmee. Awsome stuff!
Thanks for this video I love the content and the extra length of it.
Nothing beats videos on the road. Road trips. Absolutely nothing 🫶🏽
great video and some great memories for me of the roads in Arizona and New mexico....love it
Love watching road trips especially now I'm old and missing our old trips to Southern Europe. Stang sound terrific.
I didn't know Tavarash was Lake County (Tavares area). I literally work down the road from him on US Hway 441. Pretty neat. Ironically, I live right down the street from Adam LZ's compound too.
Tim thanks for bringing us along the road trip enjoyed it. As a mustang fan and owning one jealous of your dark horse love the color enjoy probably the last v8!
Thanks for the ride...!
Great movie! I love seeing the tour, the roads, cities, different places, etc. I would love to see the food, no matter if it is street or fancy... this time I won't complain about it because of the great effort involved in what you do. Congratulations. Cheers! :D
And the highlight of watching youre trip....Texas toyota vs FORD Mustang Dark Horse, being canceled last second ! Well done on the trip Shmee ! Brought back memories of my 1987 trip to the U.S. Bought a $400 1973 Mercury Monterey; then proceeded to do a solo 1 lap of America. 33 States, 30 days, 10,000 miles, Texas Motorplex for NHRA Drags, Charlotte Motor Speedway NASCAR, NY, Mt. Rushmore etc, etc, etc !!
Such a great video thanks Shmee.
This was an awesome video showing an experience very very few people will ever have the opportunity or willpower to complete. Great video!!
Great video, well edited, nice content! Thanks for sharing!
I'm sitting here watching this video realizing I was born and raised in the great United States and halfway through the video, and Tim has seen more of my country than I have. Congrats to you, nice job
This content is really amazing Shmee! You should do this more!

Personally, this is the best format of video. Love road trip videos like tbis
The laundromat experience is REAL. Great to see the effort you put into your trips.
I am sick with a fever and can not drive my Mustang. This epic 1:20 video saved my evening. Thanks a lot

Hi Tim just saw you at SEMA today in passing. Hope to properly introduce myself and say hi tomorrow if you’re around. Cheers!
Nice to see you having a fun time logging a huge amount of miles in a manual in a short time period, Manuals are like Goonies, we never say die🎉🎉❤. I been driving a manual since the late 1990s. Driven plenty of autos and dual clutches. But just can't get away from the control of a manual machine😊. Also would be curious to see the fuel filter to get a idea of how its doing after so many fill ups. Also I Love the new Egg with the insane manual and auto transmission. Safe Travels 🏎
Ahhhh love driving through Brentwood,TN. All of the nice cars 🤣❤️
I can’t believe you were driving on roads where I normally drive and passing that big cross too. Nice video shmee !
You should’ve got the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s’s for all around highway driving . the Cup 2’s are awesome on a Track , but they fling too many rocks for highway driving Trust Me I know . Love your videos Shmee
Hey Tim. Your Mustang is sooooo cool! My dream is to drive one 😊
Love this sort of content Tim
FYI you can fold the rear seats down, trunk is massive after and bass sounds better too -DH owner to DH owner 🤙

Best video you've done loved it!
Great video, and thank you for the effort that went into the video. 1h and 20 minutes juat flew by. Was just wondering when you worked out the average fuel consumption. Did you exclude or include the day of ripping it at Hennessey?
Enjoyed that road trip. Sick Mustang. Last one I had was 2005 GT 5.0 for 25K out of California.
What a great adventure u had Tim,I also use Waze it's great cheers 🎉🎉
The road you drove with a screen overhead and ziplines on top is Fremont Street. Lots of casinos as usual + lots of other stuff going as well. Had a crazy experience there in 2019.
That PPF does the job! Your Mustang looks great! 👍😎👍
I'm sure many of your subs would enjoy seeing you & Puppi visiting well known sights & landmarks in between your car related stops.
Was hoping for some road trip content thank you!!
What a road trip!
This video has not shown up for me at all, I had to find it myself on the channel, and I'm glad I did. Thank you for sharing this event and your trip with us. Love the Mustang and the spec.
At least we know we can trust the content of this channel is genuine and honest thanks 150 😊
We need more vlog type of videos like this!!!
Great video/content. I'd love to do an east to west coast drive! Just wish you'd done a different car instead of "another" Mustang:). But look forward to the rest of your trip!
That was a fantastic video.
Great shirt. Perfect for Vegas.
Love this
This video was great!!!
Fun to see you with Wildcat from the Vanos Crew
Welcome to Tennessee and only 10 I see said the stradman
Shmee. That big cross was a cell tower. We have one on our church lot as well. Ours backs up to the highway as well.
That's quite an adventure Tim - 14 States and 15 fill ups of fuel. More than an hour of video. I felt I was travelling with you in this journey and felt tired after watching this video. Did you get reimbursed by the way for the bad tires? The Zenvo always looks sharp.
This was fun to watch. When it comes to bucc-es. There fudge is amazing by the way. Also if you ever get to Atlanta again, I highly recommend the atlanta botanical garden for a stop as well. Also towards Birmingham , there is a museum called the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. Also there is one called savoy in Cartersville ga. I highly recommend it .
Tim gotta be careful. People drive like nuts!! Don't care, and some are with cellphones. Don't look who's around!!

Cellphone drivers who cause accidents need to lose their license to drive for a year, and take a course in how to drive safely. So many criminals do not get the sentence they need to change their ways, sadly, so they become repeat offenders. 🤦♂️
