I think Kovalev is a pretty complete fighter. Very solid fundamentally, good punching technique, cut the ring off, knows how to fight backwards and he is smart... I don't see anybody beating him right now. I think he has HOF potential.

Chuck Williams Being athletic doesn't mean anything. He was too athletic for Hopkins too and he was embarrassed. The guy has stamina issues. Kovalev is the better boxer and he is smarter in the ring. That's what makes the difference at this level.

Uriel Zinn Bhop 4 years ago isn't the same guy as today. But the only thing that hasn't changed is bhop's boxing IQ. Kovalev's boxing IQ isn't as high as Bhop's. Bhop is crafty and tough as nails. I think Roy Jones has channeled Pascal's energy into being an effective boxer and not a dumb boxer. Pascal has been in the ring with top tier guys so I think he knows what it takes to be champion at this level.

Chuck Williams​ Nobody is as crafty, tough and experienced as B-Hop. That's for sure. But Kovalev was very smart in that fight, since he didn't allow Hopkins to work on the inside as he likes to. B-Hop himself said Kovalev has a tremendous talent and has a size advantage over Pascal. Let's see what happens... Anyway, you have to give him credit for taking on all the top guys in his division. I think that's what makes him a great champion

Chuck Williams What's the use of his athleticism. He could not knock down Bute who was far from his best shape and since then Pascal has rusted from inaction; fighting once a year on average against weak opposition is not like fighting 3-4 times a year like Kovalev. Pascal is too predictable in what he does in the ring and his worrate is very low, he gasses badly in the second half, so what are his chances against Kovalev? Zero!

Poor Jean. I'm a big fan of Kovalev's skills but I feel bad for Jean, even after all the bullshit he talked for no reason. I wish he had only fought Krusher once, and then moved on. That second beating was unnecessary and I'm not sure he can rebound from it. At least he made good $ and I hope if retires soon and lives a healthy, happy life. He will go down as a warrior in the memories of his Montreal fans and all boxing fans who saw him willingly fight the Krusher twice when he didn't need to either time, and most other fighters had no intention of going anywhere near him. You're a warrior Jean Pascal! You have provided Montreal with some great memories. You have proven your courage and your determination to yourself many, many times. You have accomplished more than most can ever dream, especially starting boxing as late as you did. I hope you play it smart, you still have the rest of your life ahead of you! If you do keep boxing, I think you should go down to 168 and rematch Bute, then fight Degale. Those are winnable fights for you. But the the top guys at 175 are too big and powerful, they will just be bad for your health nothing more. Please do not fight them.

Hopkins is a special breed, anybody with a right mind including bhop himself knew he couldn't win against Kovalev but the reason he chose to fight Kovalev was to show the World that this guy is not the monster everybody thinks he is, he is a fearsome puncher but he can be beat and if a 50 year old man can go the distance with him it will sure give the younger fighters in the division a bit of confidence to fight this guy (Kovalev). and it did, so .. Hopkins paved the way for the fighters who were afraid to fight Sergey Kovalev, and there is no shame in losing to a guy who is 19 years younger than you. Win-Win fight for bhop #respect and respect to Sergey too he brings what people wanna see today, KNOCKOUTS!

Kovalev is my favorite boxer. I admire both him and Pascal for wanting to face each other. Stevenson is a vagine.

Ok, I'm not saying Kovalev is a bad boxer, he's the best in the division (Stevenson will think differently of course). But remember, he fought a 50 year old man in Hopkins - a man who should had retired years ago. His blow out victory over the unbeaten Nathan Cleverly to win the WBO title was more impressive in my book.

I like Pascal, his fight against Froch was legendary! Pascal is an athletic, fast fighter with heart, good power and a great chin but imo I think Kovalev is much more powerful and is very accurate with his punches whilst Pascal is a bit wild in bursts and tends to leave himself open which I think Kovalev will take advantage of. I think Kovalev KO's Pascal round 6.

kovalev beat Hopkins who was beaten by Dawson 2 years ago that Stevenson beat in 1 punch but Adonis already is a beaten man to most hummmm...Emanuel was a man of his word and knew a bunch about boxing. He was the most successfull trainer in the history of the sport and said adonis was one of the best natural fighter he ever saw. Many would say he was old, out of his mind and praised many other fighters at the time. Emanuel hosted stevenson in his house when he was in Detroit so i'm pretty sure he believed a lot in him. He is massively underrated it's not fair the guy as a 1 punch knockout like none , incredible reach of 77" for a 5'11 fighter is very unusual. His defense is pretty underrated and he is very ellusive. His straight punchs are no match to any fighter in my eyes because of that reach and power. He dosen't have a hook like Kovalev or a Prime Roy jones but He is fast accurate and strong . Way more agile than you may think. 1 left cross like he did to gonzales and it's over for any fighter. Kovalev might probably be the best and I respect him a lot as a boxer and a man. He is doing what every boxer should do fighting any fighter at any given time in any given place, you have to respect that.

Pascal is a Solid and aggressive fighter who's never been knocked out. But I think once he get's hit by Kovalev, he will be on his bicycle. I am 100% positive that Kovalev will get the victory, but this should be an entertaining fight.

Pascal will have to try to get inside because he is lower and his hands are shorter, but then he'll be countered by Kovalev. Pascal certainly has the balls to fight bravely, but his skills are obviously insufficient to beat Kovalev. When he jumps forward, it is well seen and he will hardly take Kovalev by surprise. I'd say Kovalev by UD or by TKO in later rounds.

Why is Roy Jones in his training camp. Roy never had a good boxing IQ. He was just very athletic. If he got Hopkins it would be a different story.

Kovalev will win this easy-Pascal CANNOT fight hard for 3 minutes of every round. Kovalev will be more agressive tougher, hungrier, MEANER-Pascal will most likely be stopped in this fight. He is a level below the champion.

there will be no mercy against Pascal. Kovalev was all class and honor vs. Hopkins .Against Pascal there won't be as much showmanship and decorum, so I agree with Fahim Ali that Kovalev will be going for a knockout. So my prediction is Kovalev knocks Pascal down in Round 8, and knocks him out in Round 11.

1. Which boxer can go all in for 36 minutes? I don't know one so maybe you can help me to find one. 2. Don't underestimate pascal. The guy has proven against Froch that he can take a punch and he has faced the best of the division while kovalev has only fought b and c level fighters. 3. Pascal has been training with Beterbiev for over one year. The interesting part is that Beterbiev had been training with kovalev on the same team and with the same trainer in Russia. The fact is Beterbiev has greater power than Kovalev so I can tell you this Pascal will be ready and he knows how great kovalev's power is. Of course the russian should win but don't underrestimate pascal

Raphael Cote Pascal has rusted from inaction: fighting once a year is not enough to beat Kovalev. Yes, he spars with Beterbiev and then says his neck aches for a week after he misses Beterbiev's blows. There is a video of their sparring where Beterbiev outboxes and beats Pascal easily. So Beterbiev will be a real challenge for Kovalev, not Pascal and not even Stevenson.

Well i m agree with the fact that beterbiev should be the next big thing btw i saw the video. But in his last fight against page he saw some lack in beterbiev s technic. He doesn t move his head well and doesn t use his jab. He will have to work on this if he wants to beat kovalev

He did, broke a rib that punctured his opponent's lung, he bled to death internally. The fight was in Russia and the Doctors at ringside did not appropriately respond to the situation.
