Great video Luke. I’d hate working at your place with all the chopping and changing into different units. Thought G16 was going to be ready after MOT last week? Are you still on with the weight loss?
Thanks for doing these videos Luke. I like the way you explain your job, even then you clearly know it inside out. It's helpful to guys like me that are looking to get back into the industry after a long time away from it. Keep up the good work.

Chep Swindon used to send my anxiety into overdrive, not knowing if you were going to be waiting for 20 minutes or 6 hours. I changed company and the company I changed to turned out to subcontract for my previous company (unbeknown to me) and ended up straight back there. Horrid place.

I find these UK trucking videos fascinating and relaxing; you see some beautiful stretches of land. There's a wee bit of nostalgia, too. Over here in the States, as a kid, it was a favorite pasttime doing the arm pump for a glorious roar of the air horn. Thanks for sharing!
Definitely would recommend contacting Honda Head office and citizen advice to sort that out, can't believe how much your being messed about. Also glad your dad on the mend fella.

Hi Luke it’s Nessa, how is the transport manager course going? Is it difficult to understand?

I loved this video, as always, and the music you used for the time lapse at the start was lush! I utterly loved it, much better than the sped up squeaky dane music you usually use haha :P I often daydream about owning my own haulage company with trucks and trailers, but you'll be doing it for real. I really do wish you the best with it all!
Just curious mate, but do you always put your ratchets on the O/S? I was taught to do it N/S in case you had to stop to tighten them roadside etc.

have my case study exam Friday 11th. passed multiple choice first time -. just need to retake the case study. yes lots of hard work and a heck of a lot of math evolved! do mine with Enterprise Training great gang of tutors . Best of luck Luke with your future endeavours
@sam666young
2 жыл бұрын
What sort of maths is involved? And what level?
@annefieldhouse2020
2 жыл бұрын
@@sam666young there is always a scheduling question and a costings question, scheduling will involve knowing how to turn kilometres in to time, working out start and finish of a run which means knowing you WTD and DH inside out etc. Costings can be any thing from depreciation to percentages, ratios, tonnage CMR costing knowing how to calculate assets liability and anything that involves running a business. theses 2 sets of questions often mean a lot of good marks if you get the right and go a long way to getting a pass. if your good a math you'll be fine, however math is a week point for me and in the past worried about it. the tutors whoever you go with will help you get to grips with it. in the real world computers do most of this stuff for you now. its more a case of showing you understand it for the exam. if you want to become a transport manager. don't let it put you off. it can open opportunities. you don't need an HGV licence to do it anyone can.

From my research into being an owner operator it's defo better to do the exam and be your own TM. It works out cheaper in the long run as an external TM would likely be about £350/month for the first truck. Lots of people who get an external TM see it as a compliance tick box exercise, but having the knowledge from the course will help you run a successful business as the course isn't just about safety compliance etc.
Good luck with it Luke, I’d love to do it myself but my academic ability is somewhat rubbish 😂

you wanna talk about an early finish! friday i started at 6am which is well late for me haha, i was sat back at home by midday lol, my dispatch fucked up and my transport manager just told me to have an early finish which is a bonus for me seeing as i dont get paid hourly, now a four day weekend lol
How long would it take to just drink the wine?
Luke, slightly weird question… where did you get you new orange high viz from? Looking for something exactly like that in a a good large size compared to the normal s/m/l/X-Large/xxl size you find in most places,
Let's all get Luke to 60k subscribers 💥
Just a couple of observations; be careful of the EML light being on and the front cab air bags look like they're leaking. Also DVSA might not take too kindly to the phone and sat nav being where it is. I'm a TM myself and inform the staff at work of these to avoid the dreaded PG9. What are your plans after gaining the CPC? I have my cat c licence but happy to stay in the office! :-)

Is there a bit of the audio missing at about 30 mins in just as you are leaving after the strapping up Timelapse? Oh and agree with a few others in you should contact Honda U.K. to charge you 5 grand and it take that long is not on. It should be a warranty claim and done for free. You have not caused it. I’ve heard of a couple of others with similar issues.

Hi Luke purely for my own interest that 90 mins you were self unloading at Lidl. Do u get paid for that or not? And if u do by who Harry's or Lidl? I expect that you don't get paid which is part how Lidl & Aldi can be so cheap ;) Shocking as a ex van driver that would have been 3h unloading boss @£30 per hour ;) those happy days. We did t k ow it at the time though lol moaned about every job & waiting or loading time at least 15 mins was always added on :)

Luke. You really do need to speak to Customer Service at Honda UK and express the utter madness of one of their Main Dealers having your had your car for 2 months, and a potential 2 further months due to parts supply. A quality car should not have these kind of engine problems to start with, let alone charge you £5,500 to correct it. Tell them you want at least a £3,000 discount for loss of use, inconvenience, and stress caused by their faulty product. They have the power to treat this as a ‘policy claim’. Be very clear about your KZread following, and the number of subscribers, sponsors etc. that are following the outcome of this repair on your programmes. If you don’t try, you won’t get.
