That broken water is actually the tidal mark. Pretty sure the local club have the water down to that broken water, I've definitely been collared for a day ticket when barbel fishing years ago around where you caught your first one

You are so lucky to be close to a decent river, all we have is trolley dashed canals 😑

You should bring a garbage bag with you next time to pick up the trash. That way if you dont catch anything you at least made the place nicer. I have cleaned entire fishing holes one little bag at a time over the years.

Great video mate really enjoyed it! I’m still after my first double figure pike, hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on one this winter. Where abouts are you from? Judging by your accent not too far from me, would be great to get out on the bank with you one day been watching your videos for a while! I normally trout fish but as the seasons over the offers there for an afternoons salmon fishing on the wyre some time over October if you fancy it!

If just starting out check out the Abu Garcia budget range and stick to small to medium sized lures. If you’ve not used bait casters then stick to spinning gear for now.

@@pikeandperch that sounds like a headache having to be a member of all kinds of different waters. You would love the US, you buy a single permit with stamps for specific things like trout and you get to fish any and all public waters.

I've been looking for a portable landing net and all the ones I've looked at so far are a bit plastic and flimsy looking, whereas that one you have there looks quite sturdy. Can you tell me any details about it so I can find one on ebay please? make / model etc. Cheers Gary
