Oh god! I just literally said that, right where your folding the 1st lot of Aida into a semi circle shape, then heh, you just push & squish it down into the bottle, classic! This is the most ludicrously funny ‘how to’ I’ve ever seen, which teaches me all the things not to do by doing them, ALL of them!

Hi Kathleen, congratulations on dyeing your own fabric, it turned out really good. I used to dye fabric and t-shirts when I was a teenager and I really had fun with it then. What I wish for nowadays is that the Rit Dye company would make and sell much smaller bottles of the dye. You only need a couple of cap fulls so buying an entire bottle is so much dye. Wouldn’t it be nice if they had a variety pack of colours sold in little tiny bottles. Thanks for doing this fun video and looking forward to your next. Stay well!

Good video, I like the spiral effect from the middle of your fabric outwards that you get with scrunching your fabric the way you do. I too also like chipmunk voice Kathleen!!

Thank you for all the information. I've got some old lace, doilies and linens that I was to try to die and get some colors onto it. Also thank you for mentioning Rit's website for more info on colors...very helpful. Thank you for making this video.

A quick tip I saw on a other floss tube last year....they used dollar store puppy training pads ( a package of I think 15 was $1.25) to cover your counter or table works great and no mess to clean up just fold and throw out and the dye doesn't go thru...genius!! Great video!!

Good luck! Sometimes I put my fabric back in the dye if I don't think it is dark enough because it always looks darker than it actually is when it is wet. If I like how it looks wet then I put it back in for another 5 minutes or so.

Thanks for the great tutorial Kathleen. I have only ever dyed fabric to a solid colour, never mottled, so I'm super keen to give it a go. A hot tip from April May June stitcher, if you're not happy with the result, just bleach it and try again. It works a treat. You can also store the mixed up dye and use it again. I have some old jars that I keep it in, then heat it up in an old pot and off I go again. So fun!
