So glad you posted this review. I almost ordered from them but i was having concerns about their shipping date.

I think you are spot on as to what is going on with this e-bike . Even if a company knows it will be lets say 3 months later they will usually keep saying 1 month . This keeps the time frame close enough where the customer might keep waiting on thinking that’s not to far away . Then same thing a month later . It’s a common practice . Me , i do not buy anything that Does not show (in stock ,ready to ship)

So I was looking at buying one and even went to Electrify Expo in Austin TX to look it over and ride it. So many red flags. First was when I read a breakdown of the true build cost. The said motor was 2k of the price. All the other parts and frame build made no sense. But they had put out the 303 so I still thought maybe. The booth at the expo was crap. All the other vendors we're making Riders wear helmets. Not Ristretto. When I met the owner I had asked him about the build cost and it not adding up he walked away. And after that everything was just excuses on delivery times. Almost 3 quarters have been delayed. All the other red flags kept adding up. I live in Austin and have tried to do research on the company location. Trying to come look I over. Ignored over and over. So my feeling from almost day one is its a scam and people will not get their money back unless it's through a CC. I guess time will tell. BTW.... I road the 512 at the EXPO and was not impressed at all. Seat sucked like I figured and they said would be redone. Throttle was Jerry and I hate the thumb ones anyway. Steering geometry made the bike hard to keep balanced in a turn and flopped over quick. Bikes were beat up but look good from afar. I bought a Surron X and I'm so glad I did. I hope you get your bikes or your money back.

Thanks for your comment. People need to be educated about Ristretto. I am still following their lack of progress. I recently purchased an Airial Rider Xclass for my wife. I will be doing some videos on it. As well as Motor Goat is on order. Plan on doing some testing on it. Should get it next month. Thanks Again for commenting

Did you ever try the P-51? How did Ristretto 512 compare to it?

Your absolutely right, and its something I had suspected for a couple months now. Ive been in the market for a cafe racer type bike now for 6 months, and really liked the Ristretto so Ive been watching for an independent review. But there hasn't been anything on it except alot of videos from the company itself. I figured if they still haven't shipped they're probably accumulating orders for their first down payment rather than using his money, hes using customers money. Which doesn't give me a good feeling about the company. Also Ive read alot on of unhappy customer reviews from the previous model they sold before the 512. Anyway glad to hear you got your money back...and thanks for the video. Im on the waiting for the Lyric X due in the spring. My Grizzly is going to have to hold out just a little longer.

The style and look , plus specs, made this bike very appealing. Perhaps a more reputable brand will copy and make it available soon.

When you purchase the bike, it states there will be a separate shipping charge later when the bike is ready to ship. There is no estimate of what this charge may be. I’m pretty sure they will stick everyone with a $300-$500 shipping charge at minimum. I want this bike, but don’t think I’ll purchase it due to having no clue what the shipping charge may be. At least the Motor Goat V3, there is no shipping charge and it’s very transparent on total cost and the owner responds to emails from customers daily about delays. That bike seems to be selling much higher volume than anticipated and they are constantly improving the bike. Probably need to get a Motor Goat V3

The bike is definitely good looking and performance sounds great on paper! Thanks for your video I’m staying away until they actually figure out what they’re doing and the bikes are actually produced. After extensive delays you shouldn’t have to ask for your money back, they should’ve offered refunds, a discount for the long wait or free upgrades. These issues are common with new and inexperienced companies trying to produce a new product, things don’t always go as planned but communication and transparency are key.

The bikes are crap! The motor is LOUD and will not last! The suspension and comfort level is awful as well.

Another big red flag I saw was their website was mostly rendered images and not the actual product. They are great renders but that's usually an indicator of who's serious about product development and whos fluffing customers

I was about to get one of these bikes, but something seemed fishy to me. I kept getting bombarded by ads on Instagram multiple times a day. As much as I wanted one, my gut told me this bike is way overhyped. I've seen this happen before, where companies sink millions into marketing and never deliver. I ended up getting an ariel rider Grizzly v3 and I absolutely love it. Its dual motor, ridiculous fast and only "upgrade" I had to do was getting a better seat off etsy. I hope they do end up delivering but it seems like its not going to anytime soon. Ristretto looks like they are in big financial trouble to me. Still, I wish luck to those who bought one..

I got the Freego F3 it also is a dual motor 1000watt . I am 280lbs and it pulls me around really good. Personally think the Grizzly is more refined and has a better paint. As well the 52 v battery on it is great. The Freego has 55 ah 48v. But has twin 23 amp controllers. Max output 2400 watts. Check out my Top speed #2 video. 37 mph by gps. Well this makes me nervous about mine lol. I ordered earlier this year (March), though now it ~seems~ like they are only experiencing shipping delays. As far as how they're doing: They sent an official announcement at the end of march saying they "expect to finalize fulfillment stage by next week and then proceed with the shipping process." I sent an email May 14 asking How things are going- they said the first bikes would arrive in June, and those would go to the first people to order. The rest (RE: Mine) would come July and August. I followed up to clarify that I can expect mine in July or August, and they confirmed that. Debating sending them this video and asking if they're sure about that. I'm inclined to believe them given their numerous video press releases and what seems to be a better attempt at transparency than when you were waiting. Question for you, Electric Recreation: did they have those going on during 2023? I only see fluffy promo videos during that time as opposed to actual production updates. Don't know if you saw things I didn't.

Definitely sorry to hear this. I ordered mine on September 18th and went to test ride the bike on December 27th. I'm happily going to wait for this bike. I think it was too unique of an experience, and Chris, the owner was genuine and transparent with me that he was trying to get it out as fast as possible. For me in the north east, it didn't really matter because i probably won't ride it until spring anyways. I am bummed to hear that it'll be longer than expected because I didn't hear that at all when I saw the team 2 weeks ago. I can also understand because it is a lil bit of money to fork up, but ultimately I will wait as I truly believe this is a a special product. And also the seat is really not bad at all, and they already are upgrading it to the new thicker one regardless.

It seems clear they have a great product. But customer service and updating people that have paid more than a month’s salary. Is poor to say the least. In the future a deposit to secure a reservation would be the way to go . I can say most people that have purchased are not happy.

Yea that is a very interesiing outlook. I wonder what poll you are getting from dictating the majority of people because as far as the facebook owner group, the general consensus is that a majority of purchasers are comfortable with the time constraints due to their rather having a product that isn't too rushed. I definitely agree that a deposit would be a better idea. I remember at the time I had purchased it in September I wished that was the case. I am biased, however, in that my company expensed this 1500 of the bike for me making it a sum of only 2000 out of pocket. I hate that customer service gave you a hard time because they were always so quick with me. I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your new bike. I really am hoping it'll get here soon though. I know they're also switching offices and rumored to have had started on an e-motorcycle, however

Was going to buy this bike but, after doing my research I found out that many people had waited a year past the promised delivery date for the 303fs and those who stuck it out had issues with warranty claims. Nice product but, the people who are running the show are crooks.

It looks like an awesome bike. They were a little premature in doing a product release. Looking like pre orders should start seeing delivery late this month or in June. Web site is saying Q3 now. When I ordered in August of 2022 they told me 30 days. 10 months has gone by. Still no deliveries. I estimate container transit and customs will be 5-6 weeks.

Sounds like a company with no working capital to me. Like most of these fly by night e-bike companies.

Nope! This company cares more than anyone and in fact because they’re doing it independently (meaning not just buying bulk garbage ebike frames from China and then slapping a new label on in order to turn a quick profit), things keep getting delayed. If you’ve been around the electric 2-wheeled community as along as I have, you would know thankfully Ristretto is doing something great and patience is everything.

i'm puzzled as to why they are only just starting the production of these bike now ? I thought they came out in 2023 ? They seem to be always using the same chat about getting the design perfect etc ,but surely you do all that FIRST before production takes place ? Or you make a proto type before the actual bike goes into full production ! I think their plan was to sell out shorty after launch. Then use the earnings to quickly produce the bike. The prototypes are the bikes they advertise and take to shows. What they are doing is deceptive marketing due to lack of sales. Since they did not sale as expected. The delay is caused from lack of funds. Original cost was to be around 7k according to product release. They lowered price and still can’t sale out. So that delayed even more. Now I hear they are looking to build a street legal motorcycle with even more components. Or is that a marketing strategy to try to calm paying customers?

Yes you are totally correct ! the first price was around 6 or 7000 Dollars and as you said they thought they would sell out quick ,that's why they only planned on making 800 bikes (400 of each size) But the plan has failed ! Then they decreased the price slightly and did the same a few months later ! Oh so they are going to try to build a street legal motorbike ha! Hope they can get this right ! This entire "preorder" release was a pipe dream or deception to begin with. I would go as far to say this company is shady, non-transparent , and a bit snake oily salesman like as well. The way they falsely advertised an UN-realistic indiegogo/kickstarter project-concept rather than an actually timely "preorder", also there past release the 303 FS Model got delayed to oblivion as well and heard mediocre - unsatisfied reviews- therefore even if this eBike releases I do NOT think it be anything special.

They are talking April delivery now BTW

Well I had the same issue with Sondors... And that company tanked because of complaints and lawsuits.

It looks like a great bike , but at what cost , they keep on moving the goal posts with there shipping dates ,from what i read on their website ,which seems very dodgy too me ! I agree with what you said about using peoples money to get the bike finished for delivery ,but why don't they design it correct and once its tested start taking orders then ? Not take peoples orders while your developing the bike ,the latest date is Q1 2024 which i'm pretty sure will move to Q2 soon ! and before you can blink the delivery of these bikes won't start until halfway through 2024 ! ,so they could have thousands of peoples money in their bank which will be making interest on it ! A very Dodgy company indeed !

I received an email from Chris the CEO. He seen my video. He apologized for any frustration experienced. He did tell me that assembly will be completed by end of month. But due to shipping constraints (AKA shipping from China) they would not start delivering until March 2024. He said he would also put this on Facebook to let others know as well. But realistically only time will tell.

They told me 1-2 months when I placed my order on 8-29-2023. I contacted them 3 times each time they said 3-4 more weeks. Keep in mind they had not even started manufacturing. Last production update owner said mid may 2024 delivery. They missed that and did not even give a production update in May. I guess some people don’t mind. But to me the dishonesty really shines a light on what type of people are running this company.

They are NOT a New Company! They have the Ristretto 303FS that's had one run and they are out and people bought these and have them. It's now a year later 2024 and NO BIKE! This company is using CUSTOMERS MONEY TO BUILD THERE BUSINESS AS AN INTEREST FREE LOAN FOR OVER A YEAR! Meanwhile, Customers are paying INTEREST on their CREDIT CARDS for over a YEAR! It's June 2024 and still no BIKES!!! This is against the LAW , they need to REFUND all the CUSTOMERS CREDIT CARD INTEREST RATES THAT HAVE BEEN PAID AT 30% ON A $3000 BIKE!

Crappy. This is two times in a row now for me. I ordered the X trail pro in July never got it after 6 months even though I was one of the first backers. Then I ordered this. Sounds like it is more of the same sh*t. Looks like I should have just stuck to my Super 73 RX. Your credit card company must suck. I did a charge back after 6 months on the x trail and they gave me my money back in under 48 hours and all my interest (BMO). Still sucks, sorry for your frustration.

I know it sucks . I still have second thoughts. But they really suck at manufacturing. I would suggest the spark bandit. The Freego F3 is a cool bike and very powerful. The frame is steel making it heavy. And the paint is very poor. With very fast shipping. Good luck on your search . The wired freedom looks promising as well

Well they updated and now shipping Q2 2024 so we ALL know that means last of Q2 which will be June. LOL. What a mess. They will be bankrupt if everyone wants their money back because they have spent so much on advertising and I seen they even had like a launch party 3 weeks ago and then next day "BAM" shipping now Q2 of 2024. I would say if not refunded with in 10 days. File a dispute with your bank or credit card company. A dispute will take several weeks. From what I understand a dispute has additional charges applied to the merchant. So it is in their best interest to refund you. Hope this helps
