It's really cool to understand how Mithrix works on such a fundamental level, his AI cycles through the abilities he is given just like how you are. It's also cool to understand that Hopoo probably use this for debugging purposes. Hence why you could do this with the debug mod.

i just played around with this mod a bit after seeing this, and it seems every other enemy works the same way. they're all playable, with working abilities and everything. it's pretty interesting

It also has to do with making items work on enemies without any problems. Every character/enemy in the game is playable, and uses the same layout.

mithrix is played via the debug menu, it lets you play as literally ANY enemy/boss. (well with a few exceptions), provenience isn’t even a character coded into ROR2 so they would have to make him from scratch.

it doesnt fit the lore so i dont think theyll do it, playable providence would be better but then again i dont see why providence would be killing the things he tried so hard to save. maybe they could replace the enemies with survivors? that would be funny

@@daviddo6974 I don't know what you mean by a developer mode, but with the debug mod you can do pretty much whatever you want.

I tried 50 and it felt dumb

Its so interesting that Mithrix is codded to have items show up on him as those spikes and that he has around six abilities, his hammer, dash, slam move and big hammer slam, but if sprinting he seems to gain a ranged attack and also during third phase he gains the ability to do the weird spinning line stuff

Apparently, all the mobs in the game are coded as players. That way the game doesn't have to reinitialise a new AI script for every spawned mob, they just have to spawn a new body and let the existing script puppet it.

I’m surprised there’s no unique dialogue like Mithrix calling the playable mithrix an impostor or something like that

@@Scrunkler I'm not sure what that is, but anything that works on normal Mithrix should work on this Mithrix. The playable Mithrix through the debug mod is the exact same as the one in the game, except being controlled by a player instead of an AI. The devs design their enemies to have abilities and be playable like any player character.

IDK how to tell you this but this is literally just playing as the boss, its not a recreation or anything its literally just allowing the player to control the character. All enemies and bosses in risk of rain 2 utilize a universal moveset format so Mithrix, the boss, is designed the same as a playable survivor.

Lore-wise, why when Mithrix have items he is full of spikes? are those corrupting him in some way? (if someone knows a video about full lore I would like to see it)

I dont know if its in this, but i thibk it would be cool if mithrix has a rage mechanic as a player where dropping below half health puts you in phase 2, and getting shaped glass or artifact of glass permanently puts you in that state

now just had an idea of a what if scenario of having mithrix escape his prison as a survivor and going out to kill his brother. making it take place before Contact light took him. "So He wandered, Too hurt to morn or hate" "So he won, Hating every second of it" "So he won, With nothing by his side" Maybe even having the contact light come if you loop twice reaching Providence after his death and challenging the Brother killers. "So he left, Too distraught to look back" "So he left, With nothing to rule" "So he left, He's soul speaking for the first time in centuries"
