RISING | Kellyn Acosta: Everything's Bigger in Texas
Спорт
Growing up in football-mad Texas, Kellyn Acosta took up a different discipline. Coached by a former Brazilian pro, Acosta ascended through the FC Dallas Academy to star for the professional side before breaking through with the U.S. Men's National Team at age 20.

Sometimes its not all about straight ability and being a “phenom,” Acosta grows at an alarming rate. Coaches always prefer someone they can grow into a role rather than some freak awesome player. He has a chance to be a utility player. But we shall see.
Crazy that their high school stadium looks just like the college one here at CSU in Fort Collins. Texans love them some football! Now let's convert them to the proper kind of football.
It's best for him to get out of the MLS and go into the European football leagues, preferably to the Bundesliga. It's best for his development.

much love to the homie!
Great content
I've been the exact same as his life style. Grew up in TX. Football has been big and soccer underlooked. I'm hoping to do something for the USA mnt sometime. That's my dream.

What kind of skills?
Great player
This is a kind of player a coach will always count on. He give Sounders headeque last season
My goodness, one of the most sharpest ball player ever seen in the league today.
Incredible to have his Free Kick talent. He needs to get to Europe.
I've watched every single Rising: _____ today.
The song in the background at the beginning went hard
I knew his younger brother
man...that's what they need...every kid that wants to pursuit something..you gotta find a mentor..in this case a brazilian ..hes gonna tell you the ins and out of the game...is an advantage...and a pleasure

Acosta is decent, not starting XI material, but not bad. I hope he gets out of MLS though so he can improve more.

FALCONSAREBOSS You don’t have to be a professional soccer player to analyze or talk about one. Do you have to be on the Wizards, for example, to say that Kelly Oubre is an average player?
Acosta everybody, real ball player u feel me people.
Pele is his role model. No wonder he got pele's kind of ball swagg n joggling
Needs to go to Europe fast

Sucks he’s off to Colorado Rapids
Hi kellyn acosta.. I'm from Philippines ✋✋☺️☺️how r u?
MLS had developed way much better than laliga
Coming from someone who played against you 4-5 years back you need to go to Europe wtf are you still doing here. Too comfortable? I heard you were being looked at after u-17 World Cup from European clubs so FC Dallas panicked and signed you ...you missed that chance don’t keep waiting.....or you won’t develop anymore.
I love these videos but Acosta is way overrated. He is not better than Parks McKinney Adams or Alfredo Morales or even old man Danny Williams. Shit Cristian Roldan is better than him.

myboyblue 32 I'm a die hard usmnt fan and it's biggest critic. So of course I've seen lots of him and he is clearly not better than the players I mentioned. All he got is a good free kick. we need more than someone trying to bend it like Beckham.
@myboyblue4383

Yea you clearly don't watch him much. I've been DTID my whole life and trust me he's not overrated at all. The only reason he hasn't been playing this season is because of the sports hernia surgery and a string of unlucky injuries after. The fact that all you can say is "he only has a free kick" shows how little you know about him.

myboyblue 32 you don't know what you're talking about I've seen him play since he started out in FC Dallas and I remember his first call up under Klinsmann. He is not good enough for the international level. Especially when he played in the game against Mexico. the pace of the international game was too much for him so he had to resort to fouling the shit out of everybody.
@myboyblue4383

Lol yea sure. I've watched the dude since he started for the club and watch him week in and week out and have actually talked to the guy, but yea I don't know anything. Also it isn't like Michael Bradley was out of position for half the game too far up field and left Kellyn, a central midfielder not a defensive midfielder, out to dry against the Mexican counter attacks. Also God forbid a player gets better the more they play. But yea you're obviously the greatest US expert on the planet and should lead therm out at the next world cup. Sure.
This kid sucks. I’m always disappointed when I see him on the pitch. He might play in Europe but they will never put him on the pitch. He’ll always be sitting on the bench waiting and waiting

ecbenny J why u so pressed... if he sucks and isn’t good why is he on here there’s obviously a reason why hes here something that u and I don’t see and coaches and other players see but whatever
@ecbennyj8078

Hass Adam why are you so upset? It’s ok to criticize players. It happens all the time in other countries. Actually, it needs to happen more often here in the states because players need to feel that pressure from the fans and media. If players are never criticized and pressured, then they will continue to suck. There’s a reason why some players are making the move to Europe. All football/soccer fans think they suck unless they get that real experience and real competition that is in Europe, not here.

you're right lol don't listen to these fools. Football is one of the most competitive things on the planet, and maybe he might go a little further than others at his skill range by being American. The thing that I hate the most is that American culture tries to market football as the safe sport when other countries are playing on the streets w/out shin pads, therefore maybe players won't sacrifice themselves as much.
