"Medicine” is a song-anthem honoring the traditions of folk medicine; plant-based medicine as a tool for empowerment and healing. It is a call to action to support the voices of the herbalists, healers, and teachers… the roots, plants, trees, and stones… the arts, the spirits, and the wild ones. It is an honoring of all the many ways that we can be well, and the radical and traditional ways in which we can steward health within ourselves.
This song is a direct tribute to the people around the world who are holding and teaching these ways of herbal plant-based medicine, educating us all to know our gardens, our forests, our plants and our own bodies... to bring wellness back into our own hands and communities. It is not a dismissal of modern medicine, but a gratitude and honoring of its ancestry and foundations within folkloric traditions.
As we are moving into a new season, a new time, and a new chapter, we offer this song as a ritual anthem for this transition and time of great change. " ~ Rising Appalachia

It's like you put my life into music... Over 40 years of roaming wilderness gathering food and medicinal plants. Old now, 63 still at it. Never for monetary profit. God gave the seed bearing plants for our sustenance.

☀Medicine Lyrics☀ Wise men say that rushing is violence And so is your silence when it's rooted in compliance To stand firm in loving defiance, make art your alliance Give voice to the fire Move people to the beat of the wind Gather yourself and begin to dance the song until it ends We are winners, champions of the light Forming in numbers and might, keep the truth close in sight Medicine Woman, Medicine Man Walking with grace, I know your face, and I trust your hands Medicine Woman, Medicine Man Walking with grace, I know your face, and I trust your hands Find your teachers in the voice of the forests Unplug, you can't ignore this, wisdom of the voiceless Remedies are bountiful and surround us From the garden to the farthest, prayer made of star dust Find your healing in the music that calls you The voice that enthralls you, what do you belong to? Eyes out! There's the setting of the sun Give thanks to each and everyone The lesson is the Medicine Woman, Medicine Man Walking with grace, I know your face, and I trust your hands Medicine Woman, Medicine Man Walking with grace, I know your face, and I trust your hands I believe in bending backwards and extending My traps trip back until the message is in action The yard is feeding, stop stark the disbelieving 'Cause the garden holds the shards, the medicine is in the seeds when We hold tight to our right to protect and We know our might is tenfold in connection Our elders hold them bright lights, we protect them The medicine is evident: the wolf, the hawk, the bear clan We hold tight to our right to protect and We know our might is tenfold in connection Our elders hold them bright lights, we protect them The medicine is evident: the wolf, the hawk, the Medicine Woman, Medicine Man Walking with grace, I know your face, and I trust your hands Medicine Woman, Medicine Man Walking with grace, I know your face, and I trust your hands

I'm certainly not saying that being hippies makes their music bad or good, nor am I saying that being a hippie inherently makes an individual bad or good. I'm just saying that the people in this video are most certainly hippies. To answer your question about when "hippie" became a bad thing, well, it shouldn't be any surprise to you that for some people it has always been a bad thing. I'm not one of those people, but I do see how an overabundance of hippies could potentially lead to a bad situation. For example, everyone knows about the great summer of love, but not too many people talk about the years that followed and how the streets of San Francisco were flooded with hundreds of teen runaways who ultimately became vagrant drug addicts often resorting to thievery or prostitution to support their habits. Trust me, I have met plenty of hippies who were very unkind, but I've also met hippies that have become some of my best friends. I'd also like to add that this band isn't bad at all... you know... for a bunch of hippies! LOL, all in good fun!

In 2011 I gave my best friend of 2 years, Katie, her first acid. 3 or 4 years ago she played me this tune and said it made her think of me that day. I loved it and we played it a lot but the name never stuck in my memory. It didn't matter though because I could always ask Katie the name again - she introduced me to such good music. Katie died December 2017. I can't ask her anymore. I had never even thought of this tune at all throughout my grief. My friend Serafina, who reminds me of Katie often, had given me a wonderful transformative evening of beauty, and then played this tune. I was taken back to Katie's presence, her smell, her laugh. I will never stop missing her. I will never stop playing this song. ❤💚

I've been practicing Silat and Escrima since 1993 and Taiji, Bagua and Xingyi since 2008. I like practicing slow twisting and circling steps with blades. It nourishes my brain and I circulate my chi to stay healthy and massage my internal organs to stay soft and limber. The first thing I would teach someone is how to relax and root and circulate Qi. After relaxing, someone can learn basic Gong Fu! I'm staying up all night Fasting and drinking Korean Red Ginseng Extract in Water. I like to listen to music and write poetry. I love Grateful Dead. My Father was a famous musician and I grew up in a party house in the Hollywood Hills.

Thank you Sisters. You have touched my soul and changed my life. I don't know if you will ever even read this, but I hope that you do. You've saved my life, my family, and rekindled the fire and passion for healing within the hearts of both my daughters and I. Though we still are in the midst of our greatest trial here on here, thanks to your music and words of encouragement and inspiration, we can hold our heads high while the crowd throws its sticks and stones. I know that I am meant to be here right where I am. I know that my life is not going to be in vain. The world needs medicine. That is what I will bring. The earth is my home and its children are my brothers and sisters. I love every single rock, creature, man, women, and child. No one is above or beneath me. I am here to heal them all, all that come to me, they shall recieve. I was just listening for about the 111th time and when the spontaneous ecstatic dance took over, i set my phone down... the video was inverted bc screen didn't flip. ...the seeds were floating upward into her hands ...other images with shifted perspective were nice too!! 🙌💫💚🙏🏼

Currently living in a dangerously compliant world. Lots of people do not realize that they are creating the violent oppressive global regime by compliance. All we can do is go or the Devine Truth and love Unconditionally and infinitely. I pray for those who afraid and for those who are wise enough to walk with strength.
