This is half truth only. Every coin has two faces. The so called independent girls these days earn, have bad attitude towards the inlaws, agreed she should have if they are bad but if not then??? Don't you think a mother who is a homemaker , cares for her children do you regard her as a laid back and old fashioned??? A homemaker is working. 24/7 for her family so she is no way less than an independent woman. Don't compare these two please ...and if possible show the full truth that how the real papa ki Paris destroy everyone's life these days....

A friendly suggestion To all those girls out there. Stay away from "Mumma's Boy" type men. They will behave nicely and confident/outspoken outside the house, but infront of their parents they will become a completely timid person. They will always take side of their parents even if they are wrong.

But if their partner does not go forward with similar philosophy... there will be conflict of interest. It's not necessary for women to change & accept another women, because that another women may not aways want best for the family. If a mother has dedicated her whole life on a family, why should she change herself to please someone who hasn't even accepted the family?

This had happened in my sister's life. Its a normal arranged marriage through matrimony. Firstly they agree for everything. They accept all ur conditions. They said she can work, they dont want dowry, they need a daughter, etc. Its bcoz they liked her a lot and horoscopes matched excellently. After marriage they literally did everything reverse of what they said. Harassed her mentally and physically too. But she was strong enough to leave that house. She got divorced after 7 years of struggle and now living independently and peacefully. Its common sense. No body wants to put a bad impression on themselves especially when they meet for a match. They act, pretend , show only their good side. Arranged marriages happen in months. So u don't get enough time to get to know the reality too. Divorce is a taboo. So girls and her parents will be compromised after marriage. Few shameless families take advantage of this and spoil girls lives. Tell them before hand that if any of ur conditions are not true , if u face any kind of violence, abuse and if things go till Divorce then u will not hesitate to file cases on them and take a huge amount as alimony.

I'm not financially independent so I can't help or support my family when they're in debt.. I took a break from my career.. after marriage I lost my job, health issues, pregnancy, body changes, mental stress harassment, violence who will handle those things?? even after divorce why do some ladies ask alimony?? Bcoz they lost their whole life believing that their marriage life will be better but the truth is they never get better until we get out of that.. the pain we undergo during delivery will be a nightmare for our life.. but any husband will help after delivery when their wife is suffering from postpartum depression.. bcoz of our children we compromise so many things.. after divorce women need some time to stand financially until they need some alimony to look after their children.. bcoz it's husband family fault who cover their lies with honey and spoil women's life.. in this generation also divorced men get easily married bt divorced women was easily judged by this society.. divorce is still taboo for women.. once the women open their mouth and say 'no'..divorce rate will be increase in India..

She went into depression and got a heart problem. Who is gonna pay for this ? She suffered in that home. She was not given the status of a wife. She has no children bcoz he was impotent. My parents have sold their land for marriage. Boys side must compensate for their wrong doings. Many families dont allow their DIL to work after marriage. And when divorce happens they don't compensate the loss she had for staying in such relationship. Im definitely not in favour of women who demand alimony without any reason, by filing false cases or to threaten the husband or who are capable of earning and still demand it. Im talking about women who innocently quit jobs after marriage for the sake of family and work hard as home makers without any pay. And these ppl are tortured and left on the roads after divorce. So they must take alimony.

Fine episode. Sadly, even in this modern era, many women are conservative and expect their daughter-in-law to be a home-maker. Some are greedy too, and expect their DIL to both have a career / job AND take care of household chores. Due to high cost of living and rising expenses, women are forced to work to add to family income. So, it's unfair to expect them to manage career / job and home all by themselves. Many men have started helping in household work, but it's still a tiny number. Women should always have the choice of how they want to lead their life, even after marriage. Liked Mehak standing her ground and saying that she will support her mom even after marriage. It's good that Mehak decided not to marry a wimp like Arjun who agreed to her terms in private but stayed silent in his parents' presence.

To all the girls if you are financially independent, you have your own house, then please take a stand in such situations. these rules that a girl should look after the family and all were all set because back then the girls were not educated and were not financially independent. now we as women should stand for ourselves and ask for equality because that is the thing that no one is going to give us. The other name for marriage is basically a full series of women's compromises. we are asked to change our surname even though we are no longer dependent on our husband's salary. the baby born is given the surname of the father even though the baby grows in the mother's womb for 9 months. also, she is equally contributing to his/her growth. We as a woman should ask these questions to ourselves that , why do always we need to compromise why not men.? we should bring a change which we want in the world. lets break the old age stereotype.

@@user-mu3bt8iv4q I never see any man changing his surname to his wife's name after marriage. can you please mention where you saw this miracle? also, I hope you are aware of female infanticide? if you don't know please google it and you will get to know that more than 10 million female fetuses may have been illegally aborted in India since the 1990s and 500,000 girls were being lost annually due to female foeticide. why do think female infanticide happens? and why not male infanticide? you know someone very rightly said that women are the biggest enemies of women. Despite being educated and knowing the fact we as women are not ready to take a stand for our rights which are our own and nobody has a right to take them away from us. female foeticide is damage that is caused due to passing only the father's surname to the child. Don't you think this is enough for us to take a stand? just imagine a world where both surnames are passed or any other equal laws and all these murders will automatically reduce. I urge you to support equality and take a stand for that because you do not know how much damage has already happened because of that and how much more can happen. because after knowing these facts if we don't support and take a stand for equality then we are equally responsible for all these murders in the womb because finally killing is killing no matter if you kill outside or inside the womb.

To the people in comment section who's saying- How badly we wished Arjun took her side infront of the parents! I am glad he didn't try to be the So called Supportive Guy on upfront. Bcz So many cases reflect that such boys n families agree before marriage just for the sake of saying it but later on they put mental pressure indirectly on girl of handling everything job , ghar, khaana, inlaws, bahar ka grocery, family needs and when they miss out on even one thing- they force her to leave the job by putting all the blame that She can't handle things properly and She's not treating that home n family of her own!! All of that puts the girl in extreme emotional stress n eventually physical sickness too. So i feel this was better To see the clear picture before marriage and no forceful compromises later!

I have not listened such thing infact I am facing it. Recently, my father has expired, Did all the rituals but when fixing the financial matter for my mother, my husband asked me how much time will it take to settle? As I was not in the house, his mother had to cook, my husband felt bad for his mother so he asked me to come fast leaving my mother. As I am not working woman so I had to come leaving my mother. I am against the society norms where boys mother will get all the priority and a girls mother will not get any rest.. Why such things still prevail in the society? I wish if I were matured enough during my marriage then such things would not happen with my mother.. I really feel sorry for my mother.

Being a daughter it feels terrible to accept the fact that i have to leave my mother alone after marriage. Why women have to make such hard choices. The man whom I want to marry support me in everything but he fails to understand this situation of mine. I feel helpless

Love this clip. A very pertinent and timely theme that is well presented. Cudos to the Production Team. Gender discrimination and double standards for men and women have plagued our society for way too long. Unless girls take a tough stance that their careers are just as important and that they have no less responsibilities towards their parents, nothing will change. Men also need to understand that marriage is a partnership, with both husband and wife having equal rights as well as responsibilities.
