I bought and played both. And I love both. Graphics is definitely better in Ghost of Tsushima, but there other topics which a more interesting in Ronin, for example different weapons, fighting system, possibility to create a character, relationship system. Would advise not to choose, but play both if you love setting.

Does ps5 handles the game, without dropping frames? I’m very upset with this console, it’s looks to strong, but in hog warts there are too many frame drops while in bigger battles with several enemies on screen.

I might be wrong, but Rise of Ronin might use the same engine as the Nion 1 and all subsequent games of Team Ninja. it's just modified. So, it's a very old engine.

@@cycleproduction3527 No engine is made from the ground up. UE5 is a modified UE 4.1. In the end , the results matter. I think GPU solitaries (AMD/nVidia) are going in circles with bad software developers. I'm sure AMD and nVidia would like to showcase their power on more modern looking games vs "Well, you had better graphics in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in 2016 with baked in lighting, but this is all the devs can muster up not when turning on RT". I recently played some PS4 era games such as the aforementioned game and the difference in visual fidelity is non-existent. The only difference is that I can play those games in 4k/60/100+fps, making them even better looking than modern games because I don't have to use 1440p or 4k FSR. It's fucking sad.

Got realized my Fantasy of playing a samurai movie, stylish combat and beautiful scenery. Rise of the ronin is more gamey, but i'm having a blast so far, it's really fun learning the fighting system and all the the moves. You have to work hard to look good playing it, it's not easy ! Something i wish people would give RoR more credit for is the fact that's it's the first open world in Japan where you can free roam multiple cities of that time period, it's an old dream come true. And it's also their first open world when sucker punch already had the infamous games to master the tech behind it...

@@Jojjhg And i did not say anything about Ronin looking like a Ps5 Game, actually my comment was expressing the opposite : a Ps4 game such as Ghost of Tsushima look way better than à Ps5 exclusive, another current gen Game which could have run on last gen handware. Just think about Red Dead Redemption 2 whom i am replaying since 2018, and i never do play games again usually .. Rdr 2 in my eyes is a better looking game than many current gen games ( not necessarly in every aspect but for the most part Rdr 2 is just a Better looking Game ). I was thinking playing Ghost Of tsushima again on Ps5 later, it did not need any next gen polish in my humble opinion, still à very good looking game.

But the combat system from rise of the ronin is more fun real talk. GoT is like a movie it looks stunning

nothing can beat Ghost of Tsushima... It is the Game of the Millenium... I doubt, even the creators of Ghost of Tsushima will be able to come up with something close to Ghost of Tsushima again.. Gameplay, Story, Graphics... all are mind blowing in Ghost of Tsushima... 'Poison dart, Hallucination dart"...MY GOD... This is simply out of the box imagination... never seen anything like this in any game... "The Ghost of Yarikawa" stage...simply mind blowing... And the horse death scene and the music.... "Oh My God"... My hands are shaking as I am writing this line.... I dont think this can ever be repeated in any game.... I give 110 points out of 100 for Ghost of Tsushima...

This seems to budget related issue, Rise of The Ronin isn't a first party Playstation exclusive like Ghost of Tsushima was hence it probably had a smaller budget and team to work with. Team Ninja's game aren't particularly amazing looking either. They're not ugly, but looking at Nioh and Wulong, they're pretty modest.

Do the enemies from RotR also suffer from stiff neck?

@@guymontag3541 GoT is no where near as good as RotR when it comes to combat or story, because being forced down the "dishonorable" route is garbage in GoT and the combat is just plain bad.. four stances and one main weapon to RotRs 5+ stances for each of its 8+ weapon types.

@@Immaculator5795 GoT IS button spamming, mash attack with no thinking and no stamina bar and spend your special ability tokens on 2 or 3 moves throughout the whole game or heal with them, RotR you cant spam away like you can in Got because you have stamina to watch out for, you have to figure out when to Chibiri to get extra stamina back, gotta counterspark which is a whole less forgiving than parrying in Got. You have 8+ different weapons with 5+stances for each while Got you got your katana and 4 stances (one of which you kick more than you swing the damn sword) Got is pretty but its combat is bottom barrel compared to Rotr

You forgot to mention that in the archery section, the character actually aims the arrow at the crosshair when close to an object in Ronin.

I think in 6 months with updates and graphics optimisation Ronin might be a good expirience. Also, I feel sad it doesn't have a PC release. This game could highly benefit from community mods.

Ronin is supposed to be a Cross generation title between ps4 and ps5.. Because of the delay they decided it to release on ps5 only.. The graphics will not improve any more,

@@voon1032 I've played ronin. I got 12+ hours already. I completed Nioh 2 and Wo Long. You can't deny that ronin looks like a bad ps4 game and at times it looks like a ps3 game. Team Ninja makes awesome gameplay, but they need to either improve their graphics department or make lower price for a game. It's not a 70$ quality. It's around 30-40$. Look at Helldivers 2. 40$ for a much higher production level + constant updates for free.

I for one can't wait to see the comparison videos when AC Shadows eventually comes out.

I think it's kinda unfair. People are trashing this game because it's not Ghost of Tsushima, and are judging it because it isn't better than Ghost of Tsushima. But we already knew it wasn't going to be, so it's just setting up standards they know won't be beaten, and still judging because they weren't met. Same thing'll happen to AC Shadows, despite it most likely turning out to be a pretty good game. I absolutely love Ghost of Tsushima, and will always see it as my all-time favourite Japan-themed game, yet I am still excited for AC Shadows, and I do really enjoy watching gameplay from Rise of the Ronin, as I'm impressed with the mechanics and cool combat.

Thus guy doesn't know how to play rise of the ronin 😂😂 did you see his combat comparisons 😂😂😂

I think it's because of the gameplay. Sure, graphically, it's not as good, but the gameplay is extremely smooth, and fun. This was always the forte of these developers (They're the people who made Ninja Gaiden, Nioh, and Wo Long). The weird thing is that the actual cutscenes seem to often look extremely good and cinematic.

No, because that would imply that Rise of the Ronin is a bad imitation, or was trying to emulate Ghost of Tsushima. Keep in mind that Team Ninja has been developing Japan-themed games since the 90's. It's kinda their thing. They made the Ninja Gaiden series, Nioh games, and Wo Long Fallen Destiny. GoT and Rise of the Ronin are just two different styles of games. GoT is supposed to be fully realistic, whereas Rise of the Ronin is more like an anime, and tries to follow that arcade-style mixed with 'anime sword-fighter'

Ofc ROTR doesn’t look as good as GOT but it does look way better in person than over KZread

Hi @n1lknarf, There are 3 options: Prioritize FPS, Prioritize Graphics, and Ray Tracing modes. I chose the last one because of Ray Tracing, but unfortunately the game still looks very awful.

GOT is an amazing game no doubt but I am having MUCH MORE FUN with ROTR. The combat mechanics are so good and so detailed and graphics for some reason looks waaaay better on tv than on KZread videos. I believe the first area (Yokohama) is where it looks the worse because of the floor of the cities. Once you get to Edo and Kyoto the cities are much more vibrant and alive.

Still sekiro is the best out there

I’ll buy Ronin when it goes on sale or PS Plus free game of the month. Def not full price tho

i dont understand why people are comparing those 2 games, the only thing it has in common is samurai theme.... rise of the ronin is more of a hack and slash anime-esque game with more arcadey combat both seem to be good, but theyre nothing alike

After playing AC Odyssey... Im really excited for the water graphics on AC shadow lol.

The truth is that on Rise you can see more details in everything and is more fun,special the NG+. And tou can do so much more things than GOT. Rise have some weird nonsense things to be' on PS5 but i am on 180 hours and i still wanna play it!

Someone gets it! In Rise you can zoom in 10x on weapons and you will see 3D high res details. I think its just the way the game is lit that makes people think its less detailed.

Which game has the better story and combat though ? I guess what I’m asking is which one would be more of a challenge whilst also being fair ?

Ghost of tsushima has a really good stroy, if you want a challenge play it on lethal.

Ghost is definitely a better “experience” as a whole. The stealth, combat, story and voice acting all make for an unforgettable experience. But having almost 60 hours in Ronin makes me realize that you can’t even really compare these games. Ronin leans heavily into more of an action movie experience while ghost is more grounded. Ronin is wayyy more of an rpg than ghost is. The bonds with characters, the loot, etc. if you are looking for a fun samurai/ninja game, both of these games are for you. Maybe not 70 dollars worth but the more and more I play ronin the more I don’t regret spending that 70 dollars at all. Please don’t skip out on this game it is so much fun and I don’t even think I’m halfway through the game lol

Got is probably the best action game i ever played so far, need less to priase the graphics, some people may say its combat is too simple, but for me ( really bad at dark soul kind of act games) its difficulty sits perfectly on my skill level 😂, Ror, ermm.... graphically it does seem a bit falling behind for a new ps5 game, even the action and movement seems less smooth (graceful) compared witb Got, though I still wanna give it a shot, with full price of 129 AUD, I would wait for a good discount to decide ...

So apart from the fact that it also has a lot to do with personal opinion, which game you find better than the other... “Ghost of Tsushima” is rated better overall than “Rise of the Ronin,” with higher critic and user ratings on platforms like Metacritic and OpenCritic. Which in itself says a lot about both games. Apart from that, RotR looks like a PS4 or even PS3 game...💀 Yes, I played it myself and I have to say... the combat system isn't that much better in my opinion, the enemies in GoT are more monotonous, but I I think you can bring in a lot of creativity thanks to the different weapons. And seriously, Jin's fighting style seems a bit better to me. I don't need to have 300 combo options.🤔🤣🤣🤣

wtf is it just me that got dizzy from watching the rise of the ronin clips? Please don’t even compare this game to ghost of Tsushima it’s disrespect. Ghost of Tsushima story will have you crying, the graphics will phase and the world, the combat and enemies are realistic and proper.

Both have their pro's and cons. Maybe the gameplay and story is slightly better in Ronin, but the Gfx style for Ghost of Tushima is way better.

Rise of the Ronin would've top OG Ghost of Tsushima if they haven't use old Nioh Graphics. Ghost of Tsushima will forever be the Greatest Samurai Game of all time

Rise of the ronin goes hard an the graphics may not be the best but they’re not bad , the combat is where it shines just like every nioh game , I’ve had nothing but so much fun playing ronin so far an would recommend everyone tries before judging it so hard. Stop the ghost comparisons.

I love both games, Although I prefer Rise of the ronin because it's the experience I'm looking for, something more like Way Of The SamuraI. It's true that Ghost of Tsushima can't be beaten by Rise of the Ronin, but those who liked WOTS will love RoR more, as GOT is more warlike compared to RoR which is more like way of the samurai. But the decision is up to each person.

@@waifugod She was already aged up in 2011's Dead Space 2. So on one hand there is a level of consistency there. HOWEVER... THAT BEING SAID... I still agree with you, one because she looks notably older here than onpar with her DS2 self. Secondly, this is... a remake... of the first game... The first game has a damsel story element (damsels typically revolve around youthful and attractive females, which heightens the stakes and motivation to the highest most effective level, regardless of how triggered a feminist or liberal/etc would get at that) and Nicole was still younger in that game, which was designed with that detail in mind. So... what they should have done was made a more reasonable compromise, I suppose a middle-ground... - all the more reasonable with even their own expectation of remaking DS2 later on. Unfortunately they're a "progressive" studio, so the opportunity to recreate Nicole into less of a elderly looking woman is gone for good. Yet it's all fine and good to have a un-grayed, no facial hair renewed Isaac, who's now the update-to-date iteration of the character going forward. He'll probably grow some facial hair in the sequel remake(s), but it's not like it'll be much anyway.

Every time i see rise of the ronin i feel like i should like it. But every time i see gameplay and the graphics i cant get behind it. I'm sorry to those who like it but it just looks like trash to me. I hate being biased i really do. But everything about it, bothers me for whatever reason. I should like the game, but i cant get behind it. I have played Ghost and that's why RoTR interested me. But I guess its not my kind of game. Am i being too judgmental or just blind to what everyone else is saying? I just don't see it being so good tho.

Both have their quirks. Ghost of Tshushima is more cinematic and artistic looking while Rise Of The Ronin has more gameplay mechanic

Honestly I wouldn’t waste your money it’s overrated as hell. People say it’s a 10/10 but if you go in looking for that you will get burned out quickly. It’s a 7/10 at most. If you want me to explain why I can to help you see if it is the game for you but if not I won’t.

Wish GOT had the more natural colors and realistic style of Ronin, instead of fever dream visuals. Everything else GOT is better at, obviously.

I see the difference definitely. But there is so much more value in gameplay to me

Everyone here is talking about gameplay etc, but has it occurred to you that everyone prefers a different gameplay? And I enjoy the short, crisp story of GoT with its simple combat system. I don't have to have 60 combo options. And graphics also play a big role in the gameplay. Because if my eyes are burning and I have a headache after an hour, that's a depressant for me. But i wont say that GoT is better...or RotR is better. Because that is everyones OWN opinion.

@@Jay3up GOT I beg to differ it doesn't play like Ghost the story the combat the skill upgrades it feels like it's own thing it's more like Ninja gaiden PS3 meets assassin's Creed ll with some dark souls elements it's it's own thing

Ghost of Tsushima is still better but Rise of the Ronin feels more like the early days of Assassins Creed with a Japanese setting which is still enjoyable in a different way.

GoT combat is really dull.. as a souls player, coming from sekiro, I tried GoT from my friend's console and it was just really lame for me...

I'm not a graphics-wh*re so I don't think the game looks bad, gameplay looks fun, BUT the pop-in and frame-rate seems pretty bad in Ronin.

I love GOT so much

-Ghost of Tsushima -Rise of Superman, Batman, Robin, Spider-Man, Assassin Creed, Aquaman, Fall Guy, Ninja, Samurai, Ronin….Jesus Christ.

I like how people still defense game studio for making game looks like ass in 2024. It's not hard to make a good looking game if they really pay attention. gameplay wise I don't really care it's depend on the design, but graphic should improve year on year with new hardware and newer engine. there is no reason to justify bad looking game in 2024 unless you're an indie studio.

A person on the internet once said: "Ghost of Tsushima is a better experience, Rise of the Ronin is a better game." and I agree 100% as someone who's played both. Do give Rise of the Ronin a try, sure it "might look like a PS3 game" but this video doesn't do the combat justice.

I dont want to play either now.

The fighting in rise of ronin is better in my opinion, but @Gameinvader was just spamming counterflare which made it look weird

GOT has better horse animation. Players can feel weight and momentum when the horse moves. The movement of ROTR's horse looks stiff and unnatural. Well, RDR2 is still superior to both of them in this regard.

Ghost of tsushima without doubt in every aspect. For those who think that Ghost of tsushima combat is inferior to rise of ronin let me ask tou this,did you know what a truly katana done to human body? Armor or not armor? So if you know you should know how put Darksouls combat with hp bar in fights with katana when one strike open you almost in half than rhe answer is clear Rise of ronin combat its not suit for Katanas. In Ghost of tsushima exept for the duel,all regular enemies go down in Two or Three hits at max with even a disamble animation so tell me how Rise of the ronin when you have to strike enenies very times with a katana to kill them its inferior?! 😅🤔🤦

Tsushima was such a slop to play. I hope Rise of the Ronin will actually be fun.

Combat and movement is Ronin. Tsushima does everything else better

It's fucked up to compare these two wildly different experiences to one another.

Rdr2 was ahead...

I don't even have to compare them. GoT is way better.

Ghost: Beautiful scenery and realistic combat. Ronin: Great mechanics and combat system. Haven't played Ronin, but from what I've heard it's uniquely good.

Rise of ronin seems like a more fun game to play than Ghost
