The helmet lacks some details and authenticity. The way artists do it is to make sure that champions have recognizable silhouettes. Take away her tail and you won't know which female champ out of gazillion she is.

Riot keep saying they dont have the "budgdet and manpower" to increase the number of reworks. This man proves otherwise, and he doesn't even work for the company.

Well, let's be clear. The new model is great, the voice lines and the acting are pretty good. And the art is top notch. An ASU on something like Cass needs a whole new rig, and then that rig has to be applied to all the other models, and then there's new animations for all of the actions and making sure those target onto the other models well. Plus, old champs like this are often missing a bevy of animations, tower strike animations, variable auto attack animations, displacement animations, custom recall animations, home guard animation. All the effects for all that stuff. Do they not have the money for it? Well, they don't have the money to deliver on their insane, obsessive growth targets. And this isn't a riot thing. It's a game industry wide problem. For two decades, games have been the unstoppable juggernaut of growth in the entertainment sector. Every year, the industry expands and the market cap increases, so investing is a surprisingly good bet. But those investments are now promising rates of return that the industry's natural growth rate can't sustain, so companies are needing to take drastic financial and operational moves in order not to make profits - they're dummy good with profits - but instead to pay dividend targets, which typically means not just earning more money than you spent, but earning a significant % more than the last time you earned more than you spent. Yiu sell me a thing for $50 that costs you $20 to make. You do that ten times, you make $300 bucks. Pretty good. The next year, you sell a thing for $60 that cost you $25 to make. You make $35 and you sell it fifteen times. You've made $525, which is a rate of year over year growth of 75%. So I tell yih for the next five years, I'll give you 10,000 a year and you'll turn it into 24,000 the first year and then turn it into 42,000 the next year and so on and so forth. By year five, there's almost no one left to swell to, so to make the money I expect you to make and convince me to give you more, you have to find a way to convert your $100ish dollars a unit cost to like $50ish That means job cuts, it means monetization changes, it means gacha stuff. This example has been exaggerated, but it's basically what's happening. The ceos don't want to lose the funding streams. So they need to keep the investors happy, and once you hit a market cap when you promised there wouldn't be one, it changes your approach.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they just buy this concept. They basically gave her a whole asu. The only thing riot would need to do would be to change the rigging or some animations (like the joke for instance)

Riot PLEASE! This is the golden opportunity give a community a chance! Make this official! Recognize their efforts! Don't be offended, instead take it as a compliment. The players just want to improve the game as much as you do!

She's supposed to be hideous and revolting in lore but she still looks like an alluring snake woman, all of her skins convey that theme. I know Riot will not do anything, that's why my comment is a plead to Riot. To urge them despite them realistically not taking this seriously. But you can't reduce this to "a horny fan made version". This is so well done, the project is objectively justified.

I agree that it was definitely much better than I expected initially, though I've gotta say I still have reservations with this direction for the character, given her gameplay. Cassiopeia as a champion is an absolute fighting machine, her ideal way of playing isn't "hypnotizing and cunning," it's eviscerating your opponents through sheer force of mechanics, movement, and DPS. This is directly antithetical towards pulling her more towards "seductive snake lady." I understand that NickyBoi wanted to make the character something challenging for him though, and since it's not official it's obviously not so much of a problem for me, he really went all out with this and I appreciate my one of my favorite champions gameplay wise getting some love. That being said, the gameplay clashing with character ALREADY exists, so it's not like NickyBoi created a new problem as much as he exacerbated an old one (I would still prefer his design to current, so long as the animations worked the same).

I'm just here to mention that the art that decent generators use is licensed and it could consist of libraries like shutterstock images, Ai doesn't necessarily just stitch existing art together. Loras are used to control the output of a prompt and that's the foundation of running a image generator locally, the meaningful part of image generation is in the systems used to control the output. Which is to say nobody is getting ripped off or stolen from by Ai, it's Ai websites that use stolen art as morphs for pre-made prompts and users stealing art to generate for profit images.

Hoooooly shit. Bruh, first off. You are a WAY better artist than you give yourself credit for. That cartoon-y version of Cass is still fantastic and would not only fit in with similarly cartoon-y/chibi/cute-sy emotes or stickers that Riot themselves occasionally put out, but it would be among the best of them. The fact that it doesn't fit into the artstyle for in-game models specifically is secondary. You still designed this, and had the artistic talent to know what would work and what wouldn't. Secondly, the design itself is fucking amazing! Like, it really is hard to express just how much I love the "ASU" in it's ENTIRETY and I believe that is a very common sentiment judging by quite literally every single comment/thread/think piece I've seen regarding it. From general art direction to voice lines to specific details, it oozes charm and really pulls together the mess of a character that is Cassiopia into something much more sensical and... *whole*. Thirdly, I know this was an enormous project and likely not something you will be able to do more of for both time and financial reasons. But PLEASE, if you find yourself craving another project of this caliber at any point, KEEP GOING! There are so many champs that have unfortunately been lost to history that are in such desperate need of this level of care and after watching your content for the past several years I know you get it like seamingly few who actually work at Riot do. It doesn't even need to be playable in game, just an art piece, some lore rewrites, and maybe some VO work really does add so much to an otherwise abandoned character. Just knowing that someone out there cares enough to make these things exist, even in a non-canonical way, makes me feel warm and fuzzy about a fictional world that I've been following for over a decade :). Maybe one day a Rioter will see this and be inspired to finally give my funny rock man some love lol. Keep up the fantastic work Mr. Boi. I look forward to watching your career with great interest. This is such a great redesign. I especially love the splash art for your Cassiopeia - it shows off her personality fantastically and conveys the “gimmick” for her character perfectly (gimmick might not be the right word). It’s practically perfection that her tail is obviously there (her leaning on it), but because of that it’s not obviously there at the exact same time - her tail hides in plain sight. That’s such a great and fitting choice for the kind of character you’re going for with this redesign and it makes such a difference. Also, the amount of work that had to go into this character redesign and the video itself; I’m completely in awe. I'm blown away. This is truly amazing!!! Well Done!! You should! feel so proud of yourself!! This is just absolutely amazing!

I'll state my previous coment again because this was unfair and the video amazing. I so wish this was actual oficial work of riot, I'm no artist, art critic or wathever but if you told me this was official I wouldn't bat an eye, for me this is a visual rework at its finest. Never ever cared for Cass and in my almost 13 years of playing league I played her like 3 times a not willingly even (aram and one for all), but this made me appreciate the character and made me want to see stories with her in them. Just like Tryndamere with the Still Here animation. This is the power of well executed, passionate art. Well done Nicky, I'll make it my mission to run this video in the brackground whenever I'm watching something else. KZread can be a female dog sometimes.
