I haven't finished the remake yet (I'm actually gonna farm 48 _ower Rush Badges since I'm going B_ Only and had Chet Ri__o lower Mario's H_ to 5), but I'm having even more fun with the remake than I did the original! It just takes the original game, fixes the backtracking _roblem, boosts the _resentation significantly, and even adds new stuff to do! With TTYD and SMR_G being as good as they are, it makes me want a new _a_er Mario in this style! New partners (maybe even new main characters to play as like in Su_er _a_er Mario?), new badges, TTYD's level system, it'd be sick!

Cortez taking too much damage to the point where he skipped one of his phases is definitely a "power lift is fair and balanced" moment.

Power Lift is just way too OP in this game. I was using that alongside 2 Power Plus and Defense Plus badges and a Damage Dodge badge and I literally take no damage from this game. Even the Shadow Queen's strongest move that normally does 14 damage to you unblocked did like 6 damage to me lol

@@siphons5737 There's an animation of him using a Life Mushroom that's pretty much the same as when Mario uses one.

Doopliss is probably behind that particular cursed pipe. For him to steal your identity, he has to know your name, and when Doopliss assumes someone's identity, he can just look for anywhere on them for their names and that's all it takes for his ability to work.

1:25 The point behind the pipe needing a name is actually in game Fridge Logic for later in the chapter. When Doo_liss takes your form in the second half, you can't go back because of the pipe needing your name... But Doo_liss ALSO can't leave, because the name written down isn't his. It's the only reason he didn't already leave Twilight Town with infinite power, the reason he didn't just leave you to rot there and kept trying to kill you after, and effectively seals him in one place. The more you know, no?

I do like small bits in the game like how Vivian says sorry to her after the final battle with her or how she is willing to forgive her after she promises to be be better. Yeah, Hammer Throw was buffed to _ierce defense. I guess Piercing Blow is useful early on against like the regular Clefts, but now it's _retty bad, since there's a ranged version of it. It does have it's uses for _re-Hooktail Pit of 100 Trials runs until floor 20, when you get the far su_erior Fire Drive, but other than that, I'd wager that it _robably is the worst badge in the game now, es_ecially with the severe nerf to Star Power gained from stylish moves. It has 4 o__otunities for Stylish, and only gives maybe half to two-thirds of a single Star Power if you hit all 4 Stylish timings.

Piercing blow uses your current damage while hammer throw uses a base damage So piercing blow benefits from getting hammer upgrades and using power badges. Hammer throw on the other hand only benefits from power badges. With no badges and an ultra hammer, piercing blow will do 6 damage while hammer throw will only do 2 Hammer throw is still useful of course if you're running a hammer focused build, but it's only good in combination with power badges. Piercing blow is generally useful.

That _i_e is a major _lus for this remake's take on Twilight Town. Cha_ter 4 is more _alatable now.

Cha_ter 4 became my favourite cha_ter just because of Vivian who is joining your _arty. This _lottwist was just a little bonus.

I really liked playing through chapter 4, I loved the area in general and the twist was so well executed. The secret shortcut pipe is so helpful too.

I can only assume the Hammer Throw change is so players have a counter to spiked flying buzzy beetles. If memory serves, these things have 4 defense, are flying, are fireproof and have a spike making jumping useless. You also can't get Spike Shield until AFTER you beat chapter 4 as you can't get to the chest without Vivian's hiding ability and you can't leave while you are shadow mario...I like this new badge.

You only need to go back and forth once!

The removal of _ in the title is absolute _erfection and why I love the Pa_er Mario fandom.

Fun fact about Doo_liss' second fight! If you somehow do enough damage to take him out, instead of finishing the fight, he'll _ull out a life mushroom, they did this so you'll have enough time to get Vivian as a _artner

Regarding the Hammer Throw: You can hit enemies perched on the ceiling with that! And it also costs less FP than the Earthquake.

16:11 I love him, purely because of a funny German video that was about funny glitches and exploits in this game and somehow that guy managed to be everywhere, think he was called "TheDarkZone" or something, The funniest moment was, when that guy appeared on the moon.

I wanna mention how the Big Boo boss has King Boo’s voice as he takes damage. Good attention to detail
