RINGS OF POWER: SEASON 2 | Official Teaser - Reaction | okay but why was this TERRIFYING?!

Ойын-сауық

WHY DID THIS FEEL LIKE A TRAILER FOR A HORROR FILM?!
The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power - Official Teaser Trailer | Prime Video: • The Lord of The Rings:...
"Darkness will bind them. The Rings Of Power returns August 29 on Prime Video.
About The Rings of Power Season 2: Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season 1’s epic scope and ambition, Season 2 of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other."

I think Amazon purposely held back promoting the show just so it doesn’t attract the attention of the manbaby, bigot brigade who was already running their hate campaigns a good year before it even before season 1 debut.

    I enjoyed season 1 but just didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would (HotD was clear for example imo), I maybe hyped it up in my head too much solely as its LotR. But this trailer looks good and am hoping season 2 grabs me more! I am excited to see some more openly evil Sauron. I will def miss Joseph Mawle as Adar though, thought he was great. Also I don't think there were any Harfoots in the trailer, interesting...

    The Harfoots were only important for the introduction of Nori and the Stanger. In season 2 they will go to Rhun. I suppose that's the reason why we will not see the Harfoots anymore. They are not important for the storyline anymore.

    there is alot of hate for this show coz its supposed to adapt not making its own story , its basically like witcher from netflix when they are trying to literally made their own fan fiction story which destroys the beauty and complexity of the source and the problem isn't the female lead, the problem is that Galadriel in this is show is extremly poorly written and and overpowered character just like Rey in the sequels and of course some people are hateful but we need to criticise when the story and the source material isn't respected and the events and new characters are contradicting already established lore very severely.

  • @ManchesterEagle

    @ManchesterEagle

    Ай бұрын

    Do you really think she is overpowered? She is an ancient High Elf and others of her kind have killed Balrogs and gone toe to toe with Morgoth. She’s only beaten a troll. Sauron brushed aside her attach very easily.

    im glad u are not deleting other opinions then the positive ones mate , but in my opinion harsh critism in needed when someone is disrespecting the source material and basically doing a bad job at writing a story. New Dune movies are a perfect example of making changes and conveing the meaning and message of the original without destroying it.

    I am not one to comment but felt compelled from listening to the final 3 minutes. Found your video as there is much rings of power circulating and have also seen a few of your videos prior. Also, you seem a very passionate fan, which is great! Those not enthused by long winded comments perhaps pass on mine. Apologies. A few disclaimers beforehand: I personally am not a fan of the show, I have only thus far watched episodes 1 and 2 of the first season (my knowledge of the rest of the season is from trusted friends, not online people, who have told me the show’s outcome) and I have read near all of Tolkiens works regarding the shows time period (potentially missing out on a few obscure publications of notes and such. Who knows), and I write not knowing if you have read Tolkiens work. Regarding the fans opinions, I believe there to be a difference between the fans. My personal experience has shown that the only ones I have met who like the show have not read his work, and none that have read it have liked the show. Not to say one can’t love both, but for a literature fan, this show is sooooo far from what Tolkien actually wrote it is nearly unrecognizable to me. The only thing in the first two episodes that had me knowing it was connected was the mention of the destruction of the tree’s (slightly inaccurate still) in the first 5 minutes and the names of the characters. That is where much displeasure comes from I believe, and so criticisms of the show, though perhaps not expressed tactfully, I believe are justified. When something is so altered, fans view that in itself as a level of disrespect. It implies an ability to improve upon the source material better (key word is “Implies”). This, as well as the fact that less than 40% of viewers finished watching has me believing that the majority of Tolkien fans don’t like the show. Tolkien fans are not a small group, his work being around since before WW2. For example I will share my greatest point of contention with the show: The disservice shown to the character Galadriel. There was the opportunity to show a breathtaking, really strong female character that Tolkien created. One of the oldest, wisest and most powerful remaining elves in middle earth. One of the few still around middle earth who was born in Valinor during the Years of the Trees. She was married to Celeborn and had a child. Instead, amazon has presented a female lead not tied down by the burden of a husband and child, who must surpass these men elves (all of whom she is in fact older than) seeking to diminish her and then have romantic chemistry with Sauron, when in fact she was one of the few elves to never actually trust Annatar (disguised Sauron) and had nothing to do with him. I do not buy the need to show a Galadriel that had to experience hardships to become the one depicted in Peter Jackson’s LOTR. She was nearly 4000 years old by this time and already lived through a great many hardships prior. She did not need a long sword to be a strong female. I quite appreciate her depiction in the third hobbit entry during the white councils purging of Dol Guldur. It sadden’s me that people miss seeing a truly great character. The show runners were quoted at the beginning of this venture saying “It felt only natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien’s work would reflect what the world actually looks like.” The issue is that Tolkiens work was not meant to “look” like our world now, whatever that means, a world over 50 years past his death. Regardless of your opinion of to what Tolkien dedicates his writing to (a point of contention, based off of interpretation of a letter he wrote), choosing to present your own world rather than what Tolkien himself put into his work will not endear fans of his literature to the show, and they should not be surprised and then rebuked for speaking about it. This mentality causes me to mistrust those behind these adaptations of my favourite writings. There were also some really poor treatment of fans, with real questions, comments and opinions, from cast and producers that did not sit well with me. Hopefully this may help understanding for those not sure why people don’t like the show. If you’re a fan, that is great. I personally only hope that those who watch the show will then turn to the books, because there is the most breathtaking, heartbreaking, dark, pain filled, yet hope giving world written within Tolkiens pages that they are missing out on and not being properly shown by amazon’s production. Blessings as you look forward to season 2 come August.
