I had for most of the series (which means: the part of it that was able to force myself to watch, as I kept falling asleep too often to make it all the way though) a disgusted expression of my face just because of the dialogue, as: 1. no adult speaks this way [Regading Elron'ds speech writing: 2. elves are naturally elloquent, and oral - they use letters to communicate with mortals but among themselve they send oral messangers - they have perfect memories - Elrond would have constructed the speach for Gl-Galad speach orally and recited it to him, Gil-Galad would have remembere it straigh away - but Gil-Galad would not even nee dhelp with any speech - elves are "Quendi" = speakers, making speaches is in their very nature - they need no help in that, but even if they needed some, then why get help from a Half-elf? 3. elves mourn the decay of the world, spoilage, fading, wilting, destuction and decomposition are things they do abhor, they are very much focussed on aesthetics, and would never use a corpse methaphor except for the case when they insulting a enemy of the battle field.]

More monologues but my favourite, “oh that was terrible” moments from the show were: “You have not seen what I have seen” x2 “The sea is always right!” “A dog may bark at the moon, but he can’t bring it down.” The last one in particular cracked me up so much because it was set as this really poignant deep message. But in reality it’s like something my 7 yo nephew would say 😂.

Most of the show was shite. I won't come back for another beating with season 2. It will just encourage them to make more.
