Mathew James The bright ring that you hear in his voice is what we in the opera world call “squillo”. It’s achieved by the voice resonating off of the hard surfaces of the vocal tract, like the hard palate, etc.

Mathew James It is absolutely encouraged. It’s how a voice carries in a 3,000 seat opera house without a microphone. It’s a sign of acoustical balance, rather than muscular thrust. All four of these guys do it well, but Jakob has it in spades.

Nope. The problem is the 6th is too loud against the octave, but the pitches are fine.

@dvleiva1 someone used to say, if you can’t say anything nice ,don’t say anything at all. Rasmus is a multi gold medal winner with various quartets ,an accomplished arranger and has recently directed Zero8 to a bronze medal at Internationals, so I’d say he’s pretty good.
