Ring Weekend: West Point Class of 2023
The United States Military Academy Class of 2023 received their class rings during the ring ceremony at Trophy Point. West Point, NY, August 26, 2022. Gold from rings donated through WPAOG's Ring Memorial program was used in the making of the class rings, tangibly connecting the Class of 2023 to the Long Gray Line.

I was blessed to be a Regular US Army Service driver for 5 years at the Academy. I worked out of the transportation motor pool from June '71 through June '76. I transported the cadets expeditiously and safely on my 53 pax GM Coach.. I LOVE YOU ALL...GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. CONGRATULATIONS( from mr.speedy)👈😎

P38J lightning: 698 mph 20mm cannon ×6, bullet drop 1:10:20mm cannon ×6 at 10.9897m 4 minutes, had to aim 108.000 yards from target actual and ball it to the left, centre mass shot..

Each cadet get to design their own ring
Maybe they can sell those uniforms to the new Ensigns, because they'll never need them again.
I remember when the Academy LTs came into the line units after their traning, the COs handed them over to us NCOs who had to teach them how to be real soldiers and we werent polite about it.
A fella one year ahead of me in high school went to West Point. He had the morals of an alley cat even while attending West Point. He was back on leave here in town, he got caught along with his old high school buddies breaking into the local Budweiser warehouse and stole beer. That West Pointer got kicked out for being a thief. I saw him years later and asked him about why he did not graduate West Point ? He told me he got out on medical issues. Not only a thief but, a liar also. Had a West Point graduate for a supervisor in civilian life, had to be the most arrogant, self centered persons I've met to date.

You will find all kinds coming out of the Service academies. Some good; some not so. I found that the electrical engineer majors were the most un-phased (un-brainwashed) of all of them. Just real even-keeled individuals who assess everything based on facts.
Sandhurst (UK) has no rings, no gimmicks just stiff upper British lip. For King and Country in that order.

There are very few dates on each year's calendar that some country somewhere isn't celebrating independence from the British empire. Might rethink that king and country thing. That isn't what keeps Britain going.
