I just purchased the Rng Spotlight Cam Plus, Solar | Two-Way , Color Night Vision, and Security Siren but solar isn't keeping the battery charged. Any suggestions?

I have recently purchased a ring solar panel for our spotlight pro 2nd gen. I have it in direct sunlight with the usb c connected and the app is still not showing solar status connected. It seems to just not be working. Do you have any setup tips/troubleshooting ideas?

Go to a live view of the cam, wait a minute, and check the device status again. I suspect it will pick up the solar is charging.

Mine is all hooked up to my Ring Doorbell, but it's saying it's not connected to solar, although it says yes to being hardwired. Any idea what may be wrong?

It's probably the app just not understanding what the power source is. I wouldn't pay it much mind, as long as the battery is charging.

My Spotlight Cam Battery wont continuously charge with a normal type C power adapter (Power Cube 5v . 1a, 1.2a, 2.4a) only with the solar, when I plug it in, it doesn’t detect it, did you try it yourself?

Can you post a link for the 6watts panels that you can using?

I doubt it, but certainly check with your local municipality if you suspect that may be a thing.

Personally, I do not like Ring. I use Reolink instead and I love it especially because of local recording. They also use solar panels and more features for the same money. If you want subscription that is different story but otherwise, no.
