UPDATE: The lights can also swivel at the base if you spin the base locks counter-clockwise. I was able to flip the lights to be upright instead of inverted.

Thanks for making this video. Best one I’ve seen !
Checked out over 3 other ring flood light camera installation videos. Yours is hands down the best. 'Thank you.
Thank you! I was looking for a horizontal install to replace my old flood light and this was perfect. Ring should put this on their website.
We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version kzread.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
Surprising how handy these cams can show you what happens when you aren't around. They are so useful! My neighbor had one installed in the hallway and it caught someone trying to pick his garage lock to swindle his stuff! Luckily nothing got stolen and the lock did not get picked but you never know! Happened in broad daylight too! 😂 I fully support cameras and lights go all out especially if you have things that people might want to swipe. Be prepared at the least.
I was really looking into how to mount these as an actual flood light and not on the wall. In my case, I have a gutter drain that's in the way too. Thank you for the video Danny, it was very informative. I think I will have to go with a different solution. Again, thank you very much. Your video helped me make an appropriate decision.
Excellent step by step video. Thank you 👍🏽
Nice clean install 👍
Very helpful brother thanks a ton.
Great video thank you God bless....
Hello thanks for the video because i been thinking to put the same how you install it to change my old one, its just a light no camera. But installed upside down just like what you do. Coz most of the videos installed by the wall not in the roof ceiling just like yours, its good to see that thanks mate
Great video. We need you to make a part 2 to Junkyard gold. Please and thank you
Nice Cobra!!
Hi.. Great video. I hope you're still monitoring this posting. I am looking to buy a few of these and i wonder if the lights have a motion sensor or they can be set to permanently stay on at night. Thoughts?

They have setting to turn them off before a certain hour, but not sure they will stay on constantly since it would wear them out. Because it needs to be wired to constant power, you may be able to split off to another light
Any clue what size nut would fit the screw posts that go through the housing? I was given a floodlight cam but it didn't come with any hardware besides mounting plates.
Danny - Cool video dude. Really helped me understand what I would get myself into here. One question I didn't quite get - It looked like you had your flood light on a switch indoors. With the installation as it is - do you still have the ability to flip the light on, and still also have the ability of the ring cam to be operational? OR is the situation that, the indoor switch must remain on, at all times for the unit (cam and light) to be functional? Looking to understand if I can have switch control (inside) and still have the unit also be operational, if triggered. Do you follow my question? I wouldn't want the situation to be, the inside switch must remain on at all times, and the only way I could turn the flood light on/off would be via the app. I'm looking for best of both worlds here.

I was showing in the video why I could not instal it with the flood lights because they would have to be on at all times for the camera would not have power. I installed it to an outlet that has power at all times instead
What if I want it both motion and switched. How’s the wiring for that ?
Hey there, thanks for the video. Can you still operate the light by light switch inside the house?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
3 ай бұрын
The light switch in the home would turn the power to the camera off. The app for the flood light allows you to turn the light on and off. I don’t believe it has a provision to hard wire the light separately

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Thanks Danny, just to be clear, the switch couldn't be used like a traditional flood light switch without interrupting the camera functionality, correct? If that is the case, do you know of any flood light cameras that allow that functionality? I'd like to have a motion light with a camera at the back corner of the house that allows the light to be operated by a switch at the patio door. Many thanks for any input or suggestions.
🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
So what happens if you flip the switch now that it is installed? Does it turn off both the lights and camera?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage

I did not install it on that circuit, just showed why you can’t in the video if you have multiple flood lights on the same switch. The other lights would have to be on constantly
Helo sir I have a small doubt between these camera wires I this wires which colour one is phase and which colour is neutral and which colour is ground

If I replaced the flood light I have right now with the ring flood light camera, what if I just leaved the light switch on would that work?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage
Жыл бұрын
Yes. On mine I had multiple lights on the same switch so it would mess things up. If you only have one light on the switch it will work. Make sure the power it’s also turned off at the breaker, not only the switch when you install it

yes it will. or like mine in my house. i always leave the lights on outside my garage door. if wired in on the same switch dont worry about putting in. For the other lights go and put in a outside light bulb that has a sensor to turn on once dark outside on the other lights.
Is that Ed Norton?
Could the light be adjusted less bright?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage

I do not see a setting for brightness, but I do see a lot of settings and have used some for deciding how often it comes on or what times you do not want it to come on
Is the camera aimed right like this

How much do you pay for subscription?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage

It’s something like $110 per year, less paying up front or it’s $120 per year. It also covers all ring devices, so that makes it worth it since I have 4

I have an outlet in my backyard I am thinking of attaching on the existing wires another one wire and send the cable over the door to set up my camera

If you run new wires, please do so safely and properly with the correct wire and in conduit. Otherwise they should work to extend it. I would have an electrician look it over or guide you through it.

he problem is the doorbell ring is wired🔔I have electrical power. I see you connected the app using wifi. I have to be changing my wifi address too often. I want to set up my app to connect through wired, I have several (9)ring flood lights. I'm tired of climbing up the ladder 🪜every time I think I need to change my wifi address💻 Or I have to pay $150. I want to be able to view pictures and outside through my 📴phone app.📲 I do have a TV that is used for just monitoring the cameras.🔕 Maybe someone can help me.
