Or maybe they're hurting? The thumbs down may not be a dislike, but a sign of their pain? This is my first time listening to this song, and I'm about to cry because I have firsthand experience with this (like so many others unfortunately). I'm not big on country music but I get this story. Whew.

I disliked it because the video sucks. The song is incredible but the video is the most boring thing I can imagine. Why is there not an old man anywhere in this video? Go look up the music video for the song, "That's How I Wanna Go Out". That's the kind of video I was expecting not driving, standing, driving, walking, standing, driving, walking, standing, etc. Why even make this? It takes away from the song instead of adding to it. I just showed it to my girlfriend to introduce her to Rileys music and she just kept asking me if they were going to show his grandpa. That's why people are disliking it.

I'm a genre hopper. I listen to Christian/Gospel. Alternative Rock. Cladsic Rock. A little metal. Some mumble rap. Alot of real country. Alot of meaningful and lyrical rap. Some new rock. I can honestly say Riley Green is a storyteller. He's a true writer. From a music enthusiast and lyracist he gets my 100% stamp of approval. This song het me hard. Makes me think of my grandma. Life's hard but we can find escape in songs like this.

As far as songwriting goes, Riley is very mediocre. More than half his songs are list songs with cliche country lyrics. Of course, he has a couple really good songs like this that are done really well. He needs more story songs.

Cherish your grandparents for sure but also your parents. You never think they will leave this world so soon. My dad and I used to watch Nascar when me and my siblings were kids. He loved Jeff Gordon the most. But he passed away 3 years ago at the young age of 50 from a heart attack and heart failure. I got the call on a Friday and he was in a coma all weekend and we had to take him off from life support on that Monday. I miss him so damn much.

There is nothing better than a song with meaning, a song from the heart. That is more precious than any other thing and I love how I find that in country music in general, but especially in this song.

This hits me right in the heart. My grandpa had dementia and he began forgetting everything. But even as he got closer to passing away, he would still recognize Johnny Cash's voice when we'd play music for him. What I would give to see that man, healthy and alive. Grandpas are irreplaceable. I wish I could've been with him longer, when he was healthy. See you up there, Pop. I miss ya

After hearing this song though, it made me realize that there's still time for us to make up for that lost time. I ain't gonna wait till he don't remember me anymore. Thank you sir.

That part ( cause he forgot we layed her down it’ll be a year come June) rocks me to my core man. You’ve literally saved mylife a few times man.
