I miss when cartoons used to be like this back then instead of being loud and obnoxious.

I remember being sick with fever and an earache. My mom watching over me early in the morning watching this cartoon. I must have been around 5 years old....

I’m 58 years old. For whatever reason, the memory of this just popped into my head from 50 years ago, watching it in fascination… just like I did in the past couple minutes.

I never realized how deep and dark this movie went. And Orson Welles' narration really made it better.

Chuck Jones did an amazing job with the animation. He always wanted something of Rikki Tikki Tavi to be in motion, like his whiskers or his tail, or his hopping back end. He wanted to emphasize the speed of the mongoose. :)

I hear you. I remember watching this for the first time when I was a kid back in the early 80,s. I'm 47 now but I remember it like it was yesterday. They did a great job making it feel real as Disney always does.
