Great video. It's interesting to see a few of the things I'm using in my jeepster build are validated here previously by Craig's build. This is a very well done and balanced build, looks really cool.

I've seen several references and recommendations to use the Rubicon Express (RE1445) springs in these type Spring Over Axle configurations. But now as I approach the point of needing springs in my '68 Jeepster build, I can't find these springs anywhere. Are there any suitable alternatives recommended?

You could go Alcan for custom springs. I think an XJ leaf spring would also work well the length for the front half is the same as a YJ just longer in the rear. Lots of people also have been using the 4” YJ lift springs SUA.

Yea, I may investigate the custom route. I need to stick with SOA, I already bought some other components supporting that plan, plus my axles are '78 Ford F250 (so I can use the original SOA spring pads on these axles). @@foregonetrails

Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure they're just a heavy duty (for hardtop) wrangler springs with a reversed eye. You could build your own wrangler pack and have a custom (Alcan) reverse eye main leaf. I had the RE HD springs on my YJ with a standard eye and the height was good but too stiff, even after broke in. Then went SOA with stock leaves and an additional second leaf. Waaaaay better, as in softer with more travel. There's a lot of supporting mods with SOA you'll need too. I got waggys on the YJ now. 44044. They're a little longer than Waggy leaves and have an offset center pin. Good for 2" SUA on a YJ. Too much lift in SOA for me, like 7". They have their issues that a little research will shed light on if you're interested. Look up 44044 leaf springs. 🍻
