My 11 year old cousin went from watching random youtube shorts while being annoyingly loud and active, randomly clicked on this video and watched the whole thing in complete silence. After discovering this about a month ago and watching it repeatedly since I have to say I felt like the old man in nodding to the younger karate kid. This video does something to people lmao.

I like the blue life one. There's something poetic about a being that is the embodiment of time itself, being throughout reality while watching countless lifetimes pass it by but never knowing the warmth of sharing life with another living creature. A mortal giving it's entirety all for something else to feel what happiness is...even if for a moment.

7:37 . this has to be one of the most hard hitting meaning to me that can fly over alot of ppls head easily. When you get to where you are in life sometimes and it wasn't what you wanted, as in not being able to get that dream job or not being able to really 'succeed' in life without being happy. You make it to the very top of what you can achieve but without ever being able to fully live your life and you choose to stay where you're at without trying again.

I took it as finally reaching that top, where the one you used to acknowledge and inspire after is knocked off their throne only for the cycle to repeat as you sit at the lonely top... You made it, you're the best... but did it make you happy? Was it with it to be the only best? How long until someone YOU inspired comes and knocks you down into nothingness?

Maybe it’s because I’m balls high but I completely understand what all of these mean, specifically what Pepe represents. He represents us in our various collective daily struggles to get through the day and just live life. Every person can relate to this, there’s always a long list of things that you know you have to do but don’t want to, or that you know will happen but don’t want to happen. That list I feel like gets longer as you get older. And sometimes thing in that list can really weigh down on us, feel like a roadblock to your enjoyment with life. And that’s what Pepe here represents: ourselves making it through or coping with those roadblocks.

These are great individually, but I think as a collection they are nothing short of a masterpiece. They are a meditation on the human condition, covering philosophical problems practically as old as thought itself as well the struggles particular to our late-capitalist, tech dominated modernity. As mentioned in other comments, Pepe represents all of us. He is constantly at the mercy of forces beyond his control (dancing on puppet strings, being smacked around like a ping pong ball, on the dissection table), and yet he is always trying to better himself, through physical and spiritual endeavors (jumping rope, martial arts, meditation). In each of these scenarios, he is his own liberator and his own slave (He sets himself free from the dissection, hands himself a parachute, holds the reigns to himself as a puppet etc.) Only he can set himself free from himself, and what that requires is bravery, compassion, and love. I think this wisdom applies to us both on an individual level and as a species. Pepe is constantly confronted by the fragility and transience of life (the hourglass made up of his own selves dying instantly, the bird living and dying in the palm of his hand), but also its incredible beauty (the sunrise, the butterfly, the flowers growing into eachother). He is possessed by a deep existential despair, but despite this he keeps on living. He is humanity itself in all its varied manifestations, struggling, probing, trying to taste his own essence, constantly striving, always becoming something else and yet fundamentally the same frog. It's hard to explain but this song feels like it captures all of these feelings simultaneously. It is glorious yet melancholy, intense yet contemplative. It is the soundtrack to a world where we can be anything we dream of, but want more than ever to wake up.

The best part is how the animations are actually so beautiful and you can feel a meaning and loop on them. And that's a neat detail when the song picked is this kind of beat that gets you chill and reflective. 6:14 Oh I loved this one. I think I get the meaning of this one in specific and wanted to share. Its about how different their personalities are. The children have a chaotic rainbow flashing colors inside of its brain, represents a vast early imagination. Meanwhile, the adult have less flashing colors but a more organized and better in the pattern of the colors of the cubes, which represents its maturity. But at the end they are both synced: 6:24 And that's because: no matter how much their thoughts are distinctive, a father and son at the end of the day (should) still understand and love each other, always.

That was my favorite one too. To me it felt like a grandfather and his grandson, where the lit up display was kinda showing how they're both at different stages of life (with the grandfather's display showing signs of slowing down since he's older, meanwhile the grandson's display is new and full of all sorts of colors because he's still young) but even despite their differences in their stages of life, they're both similar in a way and the grandfather and grandson even bond by copying each other. The grandfather even looks proud of his grandson when they both show the same patterns and symbols, because in the end our kids and our kids' kids are just reflections of us. It honestly made me shed a tear because stuff like that just makes it seem like we live through our kids, even beyond death, and we leave such a lasting impact on their lives that even when we're no longer here they still carry a part of us with them.

To me the one especially at 8:42 is some sort of nonverbal way of an outcry because of what happened to Pepe. The original growing things beautifully, then watching it fester into something more sinister with each step. The new pepe hugging him and dying in his arms, going in peace and with a smile to show the original an ounce of love. I know a lot of these are meant for interpretation, so feel free to interpret it differently, I am not trying to force some theory about an animation of Pepe, but I do agree that these videos are living proof that he is not who he “became” nor has he ever been.
