Right! Private Site! Get Off The Site! NOW! 😲👮‍♂️👮‍♂️🎥🛸❌

Today we take a look at Associated British Ports Newport, Alexandra Docks, Newport NP20 2UW.
We arrive at East Way where security tell us the whole site is private and we cannot get on.
We then go to West Way which is maintained at the public expense, once again security tell us we cannot enter the private site to film.
We advise them that the road is council adopted and that access to Pedestrians and Cycles is not restricted and we will be continuing.
A short while later, many more ABP Port staff get involved and eventually the police arrive.
Do the Police allow filming and flying the drone? Or do they side with ABP Port security who want me off the site and past the entrance barrier?

I mean agree that these officers were exceptional but at the same time how they acted is what the standard should be for the police not the exception. More time than not when you see a bad police video it is caused by them being bias upon arrival towards the person they have been called against or they think its there job to enforce policies. Now if we can get all the police in the uk to be as exceptional as these two were perhaps we can start to live up to the name Great Britain again.

if the council assist with the management of anything, that doesn't automatically make it public property. councils can provide pest control services for example at discounted rates to people in houses. that does not make their houses public property. greater london authority provides discounted travel tickets on trains at public expense. the train operators and their property are private providers and private property. that does not make train providers public companies or their property public property. you may think you are learning something from these videos however the reality is that you are learning pseudolaw. this is why many auditors get convictions which are published in newspapers however hidden from their channel subscribers

FindMyStreet does provide the street reference number and maintained at public expense as DJ noted. Newport Council definitive map doesn't clarify West Way Road but does note East Way Road as private road. Up through the 1964 OS map, the west side of the Alexandra Dock was all railway and sidings, no West Way Road. If not developed until the 1980s, possible the road was adopted as part of the redevelopment. East Way Road existed on older maps so not subject to adoption under Highways Act (if applicable). Any planning applications over past decade may include a Highways report detailing if the West Way Road is considered publicly accessible.

He bought me a bottle of whisky the next day which is very expensive in Sweden, so hats off to him and no hard feelings. I already had whisky on board which we got for nigh on free but the thought from this driver was accepted and i know he felt awful about the incident. Several people were killed whilst i was in different ports and several lost their lives on neighbouring ships in the North Sea when their vessels sank. Congratulations to the Police for being professional about the whole situation. Shame you didn't report the breaking of the law in regard to the SIA badge !!!
