Музыка
www.premierguitar.com/articles... Premier Guitar's Shawn Hammond is on location in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he catches up with Steve Stevens on the Billy Idol 2013 summer tour. Stevens discusses his new signature gear from Knaggs Guitars and Friedman Amplification, as well as his go-to Gibsons, Suhrs, and Roland synth-equipped Godins. We also get the straight story on how he got the ray-gun sound in the original studio version of "Rebel Yell" and see the modified toy ray gun he uses onstage.

What a super nice humble guy. Taught us a lot. Steve Stevens is a “Giver” not a “Taker”! Bless you brother for that lesson. He’ll always be blessed. I got more out of that interview than just the music part, which he is a genius at, but learned that you can be a star and still show humility. Thank you Mr Stevens

Tj Landry What is this"underated"bullshit.Anyone that knows anything about guitar playing or rock music knows that Steve is great and he has sold millions of album and been on every guitar magazine covers for 30 plus years so underated? Not the slightest.

It usually takes like three seconds for some guitar player to disagree that anything or anyone is underrated. Elvis is a little slow... 🕺
How many pro players would take this much time to show the world his rig in this much depth !! He's a class guy imo ....

Tons! Thats why Premier Guitar made a whole video series on pro guitar rigs, because musicians LOVE to talk about their gear, your gear, the neighbors gear. 😂
Steve Stevens is a humble guitar legend who really knows his guitars, it's a pleasure to see him show his collection.
What an awesome dude! Seriously that is a lot of his time to freely give away . Massive respect.
This is the epitome of a top to bottom rig rundown. Didn’t just send out a guitar tech to do a quick summary of gear used. Steve was excellent. Great interview.
Saw him a few years ago with Billy Idol. He is a sonic genius with incredible attention to detail. The best guitar player I've ever seen live.
Watching Steve will raise your rock music IQ 100 pts.
So freakin' amazing...every time I see him play, it's a master class in rock guitar
Steve Stevens has to be one of the most underrated guitarists ever! He's such a humble cool dude!

hes highly rated. what do you mean?
A real pro that does not have to justify himself by loving himself. Impressive.
Steve is a fantastic guitarist and songwriter. Also, he's a nice guy. In all his interviews he comes off as pleasant, friendly and sincere. Big fan. I very much enjoyed this video. It's terrific to get an in-depth look at such a talent's guitar collection and rig.
Most interesting rig rundown I've seen yet. Steve's technical knowledge is impressive.
This is one of the best rig rundowns. I wish more artists would demonstrate how they use their set ups live, verses a typical guitar tech.

there's a lot of good ones like Eric Johnson Uli Jon Roth Joe Satriani John 5 Johnny Hiland and many more then there is rundowns which are what i consider a mixed bag (guitarist and tech sharing different parts) including these ones Steve Lukather Fall Out Boy Tedeschi Trucks Band Jonny Lang

William Allison , I feel the same way but I have come to realize that many of these cats DO NOT actually know anything about the technology aspect lol. A lot of these guys a very very far removed from the bedroom and a couple boss pedals. A lot of us couldn’t imagine having someone else behind the curtain controlling the effects. Some professionals don’t even step on a pedal lol. I’m not knocking it in ANY WAY whatsoever. Maybe that’s why the tech shares the rig rundown. I really love Doyle but to be honest; he wasn’t all that great at explaining the ins and outs of his rig. He did do a little demo of a couple pedals. Which I really dig. I could be wrong
Steve Stevens just gained a lot of new fans. What a real professional!
what a dude, shows his own set up and doesn't just get the roadie to do it!
Wow. He's such an awesome guy. Not a cocky "Higher than thou" kinda guy at all. I'm really loving his blinged out guitars. Smart with his tones, genuinely nice person. A true rarity in this business.

Wow... I've scrolled through a lot of Premier Guitar's Rig Rundowns and clicked on those artists that I like and there's been many but never came across this one. Out of all of those I've watched this is by an immeasurable mark the best rundown. You rarely have the guitarist themselves participate but Steve took this to a whole other level with his down to earth equipment walk-through's and then he gives several on-stage demo's. I liked the guy because of his talent, now I really like him even more because of his personality.

I don't remember ANY other guitar player on this channel actually getting out and playing their guitar. I LOVE Steve Stevens! Brilliant player and seems to be an approachable and nice guy. Rock On, Steve. Big fan here!
Steve's a true pro, knows his gear inside out like every player should...and his rig whoah, the cleans are out of this world.
THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Great player, great guy. Humble and talented. Hats off to Steve Stevens!
You can tell he really loves his art so much.. Rock on Steve!!
One of my all time favourite rock guitarists. Riffs and solos that can remember forever.
half an hour answering all these questions and everything!!! one incredible guitar player that tells you every little detail on his rig!!! best rig rundown ever
Very Down to earth guy and great musician. That thing with the synthesizer was very cool.

I love how he says I wanted a guitar I could barely control...that's just pushing yourself...I know many do it but it's good to hear pros say that
I never got into Billy Idol but somehow loved everything I read about Steve. Hearing him here, sharing is knowledge, being a totally nice guy, and God, what a talent... I'm definitely a fan of his now.
This may be out of date, but its incredibly entertaining - in itself a masterclass, by such a nice and knowledgeable Gentleman, who breathtakingly knows his stuff! Fantastic!
The one and only Steve Stevens. What a guy, top man. A real down to earth super star, top guitar player knows what he's talking about got my respect.
Steve is a top guy. Super guy. No attitude or BS. Just pure rock...
super nice guy..and very open about his guitars and amps...Hes been doing it for a long time

I love when they talk guitars...amps...kinda glazed eyes...not there yet
Steve's always been one of my favorite guitarists. Met him on the Rebel Yell tour and he was just as humble and soft spoken then. With guitar in hand though, he's a ferocious player.
Love Steve Stevens saw him 1990 with Billy Idol on the tour with faith no more. Steve was phenomenal. Incredible player and so laid back and humble always has been.
Never saw an interview with Steve before. He seems like a guy you could sit down and have a beer with, and have some good laughs. Unpretentious and happy to show what he uses and how he uses it. Great rundown, great guy, GREAT musician.
Cool guy. He's very enthused about all things guitar and doesn't mind sharing.
Man this is awesome, he knows exactly whats going on with his amp/effects set up. Literally holds nothing back, best run down i have seen by far! Great guy and a fantastic player
How generous of this gentleman to give all this time. Wish more guitarists would be this kind. Says alot about his character. Solid.
Hes a monster player

This is an incredible interview!!! I could listen to him talk all day about stuff, he's so cool!
What a cool guy. 30yrs of listening to his guitar playing and still love it. Very well known but so underrated. He knows what kind of sound he wants to deliver and humble enough to share the knowledge. Very cool indeed.
Glad to see some recognition for Steve! He's been a great guitarist and innovator through the years and unfairly overlooked.
I just love the way he plucks those strings! One of my all time favorites!
Man, what a great player! I love the rig rundowns with the actual artist playing. The nylon string with the synth is amazing.
Wow. My next google search is Steve Stevens. I've watched many rig rundowns. This is one of the best. No guitar tech. Just the man himself. So many tricks and clever ideas.
Very accommodating dude.. A nice bloke is Steve.
Incredible player, and seems like a really accessible guy. He always takes the time to show you more than most top-tier players.
I met Steve while in the atomic playboys back in the day and what a cool guy and monstrous guitarist!
A great guitar player and a very nice and down to earth guy !!
Steve is a great dude. Always willing to take the time to share with fans.
You couldn't find a nicer guy than Steve!! He's a true guitar God!
Great and Innovative Player, such down to heart. Thank You Steven for spending so much time to show us your rig.
Steve Stevens is one of the most underrated guitar players. He’s an amazing shredder in his own right. And very super cool guy.
GREAT rig interview. Steve Stevens has always been a mega-talented guitarist and now I know he's as gracious and down-to-earth as he is talented. I wish I could shake his hand for dedicating one of his guitars to his father.
Nothing better than super talent and super skill that is humble and kind. If only everyone could be this way. Much respect to Steve for sharing his time.
That tone is freakin' AMAZING from 30:00 on, jesus Stevie that's some great multi-tasking and super tasty classical work there.
My guitar hero. Met him several months ago after an evening of him talking about and playing Roland equipment. Really nice guy, I could listen to him all day.
he is a really good guitarist. seems like a really cool person too
Very impressive in every way. This was the best rig rundown I have ever watched. What a cool guy, incredible guitar player, and really detailed walk through and demonstration. The fact that his idol is Robin Trower is icing on the cake. My first 2 albums, I got at the same time for Christmas was Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs, and Jimi Hendrix Are You Experienced.
What a fabulous man, humble, funny, interesting, super tech savvy and yet really simple and honest in his approach. Not to mention his astounding guitar playing!
"Nothing similar to old Hamers" so truthful, amazing quality + sound + play-ability guitars love them and I use them a lot. Steve S. is great guitar player, He can play from virtuous tapping, arpeggios and all kind of HM tricks over hard sustained blues to the Flamenco and classical music based guitar stiles.
One of the better rig rundowns.Good interview. Lot of info/secrets.Appreciated. Saw them two years ago at artpark in lewiston N.Y. They lost nothing.Great show.
Steve Stevens is one of the best player's to ever touch the guitar, a genius of the instrument!! So underrated just an amazing all around player Steve can do it all!!
Steve is the real deal; a fantastic guitar player! A very giving, generous man, too! This is easily one of the best RRs ever.
Really enjoyed this one! Totally dedicated artist and down-to-earth guy. Knows what he´s doing. Thanks.
Best example of a musician that runs his "stuff", rather than his stuff running HIM that I have seen in quite a while! Totally enjoyed this...
His work with Billy Idol in the 80's and early 90's was incredible, if you listen to White Wedding, Eyes Without a Face, Rebel Yell etc, their are NO Keyboards or any synthesizers, it's all Steve's brilliant playing, this guy is way underrated. BTW I think Billy Idol is an as*ole but Steve's playing Bass & Guitar is 90% of the sound anyway.

No synth u say, i beg differ my friend. But an awesome guitarplayer anyways, under rated as all the others that didnt "make" the 80s
Steve Stevens has been on my top list of guitar players for quite some time. The fact that he is both a killer player and such a nice guy talking about his gear not to mention his tone and indepth knowledge......totally world class.
Not only is he a great guitarist, but what makes him unique is the enormous amount of work he has done to achieve his particular and recognisable sounds! A programming of all these effects which owe nothing to chance, a meticulous and very long work, a perfect knowledge of his material associated with one of the best guitarist in his style and one obtains stage performances very close to those of the records! Few guitarists in the world have this rigour to play as well on stage as on the studio albums, there is among others Steve Rothery of Marillion and also Tony Lommy of black Sabbath!
I'm a drummer, so I have literally no clue what they're talking about. But I can listen to Steve talk about guitars forever!
I've been following Steve for years. By far my one of my favorite guitarist. I love that he's so willing to share his rig in this video. I've done Live Sound Reinforcement and love his whole approach to playing. He maintains a great vast knowledge of musical tech without sacrificing his obvious natural creative talent and approach to actual musicianship. Steve keep doing your thing.
One of the best! So nice to see that he so personable and generous with his time and knowledge.
Awesome!!! Love it when the artist is fully into explaining his rig. Steve's still fully into it after all these years :)
Mr. Steve Stevens: In command! This ol' cat is ON it.
Such a humble guy.. he's a class act. Really enjoyed that.
Awesome! Great interview with Steve and great to see him demonstrating his rig and guitars and effects. What a great guy.
Steve is a Great Guitar Player. Listen to his Acoustic / Flamenco Stuff. He is Not just a run-of-the-mill . . . Loud Rocker - he knows his Music Theory and is " Very Under-Rated " ( i.m.o. ). Love the Guitar work on " Flesh for Fantasy " - Michael Caz - NYC -
What a fantastic person to give so much time and information. Thank you Steve. May your life be better every day.
This is the "dirty" secret of all the "Uber-Cool Rock Star" guitar players... They are actually tech nerds...
Dude, if every artist could be this engaging/excited about their rigs...
Definitely one of the coolest Rundowns yet. Always nice to see the player actually fire up the rig and run through some examples.
o my.. he modified the ray gun! he has 4 and they all sound different!
What a cool, sweet, humble & a soft guy whos so at the top of his craft..
The nylon synth is amazing
Guitar God right there.
I really enjoyed this rundown, Steve Stevens is a class act. Great player and not boring when describing his gear. I was interested the whole time.
Steve is the greatest guitar player!
I can watch Steve Stevens interviews, shows, etc all day, Great human being great for humanity.
What a nice guy.
What a great episode. Steve is such a capital dude; humble and generous, and yet completely ruling and badass.
World class guy, world class knowledge, true artist - I would have never known - thanks PG-RR. Do miss RD.
One of the most interesting and entertaining rig rundowns so far. Thanks for posting!
This is what a real "Rig Rundown" should be. Steve Stevens is such a class act, too. This is perfection.
I am not even a big Billy Idol fan but I enjoyed this video even though when he was going through all the amps and pedals it was brain overload and to complicated for me, Steve seems like a real nice guy and truthfully I had never ever heard him talk before I just remember the hair and guitar from the old Bill Idol videos.
Absolutely one of the best Rig Run downs ever
Always been a big fan of his tone and phrasing. Very underrated guitarist imo!
It's great watching Steve play all the parts of the songs. Way cool! Great rig run down!!!
