This is probably one of the best Rig Rundowns they've done. What a genuine guy.
Dave is totally cool, and love his gear. When I close my eyes it’s like Christopher Walken doing the rig rundown 😂
Dave Amato is a down to earth nice guy, very talented and guitar player extraordinaire. He's one of the top 🎸👑ings!
It's really nice to see a guy give a tour who is really enthusiastic about his equipment.
every rig rundown there's the same comment "this is probably the best rig rundown"

Same here!
Dave Amato really seems to be a cool dude
Nice to see people who love what they do, enjoy talking about it, have stories to tell and love to share.
Of all the Rig Rundown vids, this guys is the most impressive to me.
One of my favorite episodes for sure!
You can really tell he genuinely loves talking about gear. Seems like such a nice guy.
Real in-depth interview. Really enjoy your rundowns!
We can’t tell you how many times we’ve seen this! Dave Amato has been our favorite “Rig Rundown” video-EVER! Would love to see an update! #justsayin #daveamato #REOSpeedwagon
those are some of the baddest guitars I've ever seen. respect
finally a rig rundown of dave amato, a member of the greatest band of all time!!! REO Speedwagon!
This guy really knows his stuff! Great gear, great sound, great guitarist and great band of course!
awesome interview!!! Dave is cool and enthusiast guitarist. really makes the interviewing more alive. fascinating on how pop rockers are more concern about their guitar sound. their approach in sound way more complex than metal guitarists. even only for clean sound :-D reminds me of steve lukather, who's also have a big and complex rig. hope PG will interview him very soon
What a cool guy. Been loving Speedwagon forever with not really knowing the band, what a fan i am... Ty for Google and You tube, another cool guy to learn more about.
Love that is still using stuff that I used in 90s!
Dave is such a good guy. He always seems genuine about sharing his time.
Love the old school rig!
Classic rig, I don't even know him but I instantly know he's cool with that custom shop Fender, row of Les Pauls and Marshalls.
14 JCM800 heads??????????!!!!!!!!! _/\_ I bow down to you SIr...
Fabulous rundown.
This guy really impresses me, great player, great tone.
Awesome rundown PG. Love dem SG's.
Hey Dave, I'm so envious of your rig. I've dreamed of owning a Bob Bradshaw designed rig since the 80's. After seeing you play many years ago, in Tulsa, OK with REO, I fell in love with your sound. Anyway, if you ever feel like lightning the load. I'd be honored. Keep up the great job your doing keeping the rock of the seventies and eighties alive.
Norman's Rare Guitars brought me here. How many great guitars does he take on the road with him? Jesus...i'm jealous, hehehehehe.
Dave really is a “gear head” and just loves to tour with an enormous amount of gear and guitars. His guitar and amp collection is one of the biggest in the world. And yes he is a nice guy, I’ve met him several times and had the honour of sharing pizza with him in London in 2008 backstage at the O2. What a guy. Great video too.

I also can’t help thinking that Gary Richrath used not much more that two Marshall 100 watt lead heads a couple of Marshall cabs, the occasional Wah Wah, a selection of ‘59 LPs and that’s about it.
Nice guy. Great rundown.
Seems like a really nice guy. His tones are some of the best to my ears.
Fantastic rundown. Dave is a genuinely nice guy :)
Dave seems so cool ! Love that double neck tele .
Great player with great tone. Seems like a really cool guy too.
Never got into these guys but only heard a couple songs from them in my parents bravada from a couple years ago also hanged onto the cd today
I agree, and I don't mean to come off that I don't like Fractal products, they are amazing and great to have in today's industry no doubt. It was just interesting to see a rig w/o one or even spoken about.
Wow! I haven't seen a rig like this scince the late 80's early early 90's! Awesome, kinda nice to see a rig w/o a fucking Fractal!
Dave Amato-Seems like a great guy-that is also a ROCK STAR-I have seen REO-Speedwagon-lot*s of times since I went to a University in Missouri-when they released there 1ST 2ND 3ND-Albums-with Gary Richrath-[ This was before 1981 ] Kevin keep the band together-by staying in shape-and let the fan*s party-while the band-kicks but -and stays in shape-we see them-each time they come through-our first date was at an REO-CONCERT With STYX and Def Depard-Keep up the good !
Dave is always a class act.
What a nice guy. What a nice guitar rack. What a big rig. He must have no money left. I had to smile when he spoke about keeping the twin neck Tele, Esquire "standard". I was thinking "just like in the old days, the way Leo made them" Great video.
REO is my favorite band. I still have Kevin's pick from 2009.
Dave's Guitar Shop Rules!
Dave has the best guitars and great tone!
SO MANY GUITARS!!
What a great guy! So normal! You could just hang out with him no worries AND a monster player!
Love Dave - super guy!
He got a lot of great friends....
They'll be in Chicago next week. I'm sure we'll see one soon. :D
It is cool to watch Dave play the double neck Fender.
Very cool. I like the fact that Dave did the gear run through, and didn't just hand it off to his tech.
Wow, the 58 and 59, are gorgeous
Now that a cool guy. Thank you.
great vid thanks
what a set up.very cool guy !

+Joe Dov Amato seems like a real cool genuine dude, right? One of his Les Pauls has the most beautiful matching wood grains I have ever seen. Drool.
Some hot gear 🔥
GUITAR GEEK!
amazing
That V is amazing.
that segway to the next guitar rack was too great hahahah
I knew Dave back in the early 80's in LA. He lived with a girl named Kyle Tussi in West LA. Dave and I did some writing together, nothing came of it, and we would socialize, dinner, parties. I had a video out at the time on VH1 and ask Dave to put a band together with me. I passed on him and used somebody else. We knew the same group of people at that time, Ricky Phillips, (pre- Styx), Tim Pierce, Jonathan( Journey) and Mugs Cain, ( his brother). It seems after Dave got his REO gig he lost his memory because several of his friends from that time tried to contact him...crickets. Happens I guess. Rock & Roll Alzheimer's!
Such a simple sound... No idea how much effects were involved. Very surprising. I always wanted to try out one of these rigs on stage. I wonder if it would make me sound better. :D
When I got to open for REO Speedwagon in the late 90's..I believe Dave used Rivera combo amps..about 4 or maybe 6 of them lined up..
I love how transparent Jason Shadrick is. You can tell when he really doesn't like people..
How did I miss this? :(
Dave Amato, he's a real good friend of mine.
I didn't mean to come off that I don't like Fractal, it's an amazing machine. It was just interesting see a rig without one,or even mentioned in one of these interviews!
Never heard of this guy but he's got a good taste on guitars!
You don't see that kind of studio gear on the road anymore...this is really interesting to see
Please do a rig rundown of Stereophonics when they come to the US to tour in Septemberish!!!
Sounds like a good guy.
Did anyone notice that he skipped over the 2 SG's?
love this rig absolutely amazing. Also why dont you like fractal Axe Fxs? I am just curious
Guess which is his favorite 90s sitcom.
Holy Cow on that doublekneck Tele. !
Yeah that PRS sig is beautiful
No Gary Richrath.
Wowzers! Tony Bird...I think he roadied for KISS Revenge era :)
Do a rig rundown of Vintage Trouble!! or Halestorm! :D
Dave's Guitar Shop!
That's not what he said at all. You can have three '59 Les Pauls and if they have a different top on them (say AAA flame, plain top, and a very slight flame) it will affect the tone. Probably way too slim of a difference to notice but this guy isn't an idiot he's spot on when he says the finish wood of a guitar affects the tone.
That's what I was saying! They'll be in Chicago for Lollapalooza, they should get NIN and the Cure while their in town as well!
I love the Floyd Rose on the Les Paul’s!!!

They're nice. I have a Floyd Rose on my Alex Lifeson Axcess Signature L.P.
Has anyone ever noticed that Jason always informs the artist what he's going to and in what order.
Dave is the nicest guitar player good guy
I KNEW IT!!! I SAW THE DOUBLE NECK FENDER AND KNEW IT WAS THE SAME AS RICHIE SAMBORA'S!!!...ok. I just had to confirm that. XP
I got my Gibson Budokan LP from Dave's.. Best place to buy Les Pauls..
Handy to have a $150,000 worth of perfect gear available to use for the gig.

He really is like that. Just freaking cool. Plus the dude has amazing feel and tone. I hung out with him through a mutual friend, and he's always been like that . I went and saw David Huff's band Giant in Long Beach (Bogarts) with him and John Elephante, the singer from Kansas. He was so cool. We hung out at NAMM as well for the entire day. He knows everybody!! When Jim Marshall saw him, it was like he saw his son. Old man Marshall loved him. At GIBSON, he was showing me Les Pauls. I remember him handing me a Les Paul after holding a long note and him saying you need dont need anymore sustain than that. This was just after he started playing with REO. He was still Cher's guitar player back then as well. He is the nicest coolest guitar player in the business, with great stories, especially the Nugent days', And he does know how to get tone with every old school trick. He taught me how to roll back volume properly. Amato rules.
Dave hey bro
i have an SRV2000, very underrated
He should do a side project with his buddies from the custom shop.
was not expecting Styx's bassist Ricky Phillips to appear
I want that Andy Summers Tele!
Dave's voice is great. He could read the menu at Taco Bell and it would sound awesome
Oh, a traditionalist guitar player... what a friggin' breath of fresh air!
Does anyone know where to get those guitar stand/flightcase?
Question, is there any particular years of 2210 are better than others?
that gibson signature prototype looks pretty much like the Neal schon signature model ... the floyd rose and the cut on the back of the guitar for the easy acces to the high notes, are some of the Schon ideas if i'm not wrong ....
