Back in the early 80's in Chicago, I was in a band that used to open for a whole slew of bands. Mike was in a band called Holland. Say what you want about him but out of all the bands we opened for, Mike's was the most accommodating to us and the nicest. He would go out of his way to make sure we got at least a sound check. NONE of the other bands back then would even let us use 1/4 of the stage let alone sound check. Mike was always a nice, friendly guy, and if you think he's full of himself, you should have seen the other bands!!!

I love MAB but not only for his incredible techinique and all that comes with it, I love how humble he is by talking about other guitarists like that but saying good things about them all, did you realize that in almost 20 min of video he was not only talking about his stuff but he was like chatting with all of us? I love not only his humilty but his relaxed way he talks to every1 like all people are his friends. This how a musician or any artist should be imo some of them might do it but at some point in life they just don't take it anymore and they stop they have to be cold they have to be "bad" to some people and this guy isn't...

Unlike most guys who just blow smoke for whoever greases their palm. I like guys like this. It's not wrong to tell the truth. If A is way better than B, say so. It isn't YOUR fault that B isn't better or as good as A. I also prefer passive pickups. I used the 81/85 for many years. Got sick of the hiss and batteries.

+Crysta1Pisto1 I use the simple styled 88's when I can get them...I might give the Jazz 3 a go though, as I to am a strict alt-picker myself..

+ricomajestic, the Max grip picks may suck in your hands, but they're a crucial part of my playing. I can't play anything else as far as picks. I can't use other picks.

He probably forgot more technical guitar stuff then I will ever learn in my life... not a huge fan of technical music but gotta give credit where it's due and he is a master. Seems like a very decent guy as well, have a good life Mr Batio, more power to you :)

That interviewer's brain internally exploded at about the 00:30 second mark. Batio thinks so fast...and so much, probably no one can keep up with him. He's literally thinking many times faster than the rest of the population. That interviewer probably had to seek counseling after this interview.

Maybe you should take note that he's 64 years old and has that kind of enthusiasm still. That's a good thing. I hope I have that kind of passion and can be fired up about music at that age. Oh and then there is his ridiculous ability to play guitar. Almost unbelievable.

He's a god and is so modest! It's like "I love my guitars, love my sponsors, yeah I love my rig. And I hope you enjoy the show!", just simple... I mean, most of this god skilled people are great fucktards with a shit ton of arrogance. MAB seems to be a great great guy with a huge charisma.

Thank you, Michael Angelo. I learned so much from this "17 minutes of rambling", such as what a good delay time is so that your sound is less intrusive in the band mix. Please keep on talking and inspiring musicians and guitarists, all the while doing it with your bad ass looking guitars! I'd rather listen to you all day than read the hate drivel in the youtube comments...luckily, I didn't have to do it for very long! :)
