RIFLE to SHOTGUN - cowboy action transitions!
Спорт
Trying to get a few more outdoor videos in before the cold sets in! Unfortunately we can get pretty windy this time of year. Today we're covering some rifle to shotgun transitions. We're using a SxS but same principles apply to how you load your 97' or 87'.

New intro is as cool as a ten second stage! Really enjoy the different aspects you teach, hand work, footwork, mental planning and practicing for the unexpected. Best teaching videos hands down!!

Now you've got my competitive side! The next intro will be shooting for 9's 😂
another re-watch thank you
I'm loving the new editing style showing what each part of the body is doing in time. This is a really cool and entertaining way to get the tips you are trying to show. Awesome man really good

Always looking for ways to make these videos more entertaining while adding value to the subject at hand. Thanks for noticing!
I like the new intro. And your choice of music as well.
New intro is very professional, I like it. The transition content is very well put together and edited. I like how you cut in with the footwork and the slow speed parts, very good. I have been working on my rifle/shotgun transitions and tips are very timely. Thank you again for the great content, it gets better with each video you produce. The new camera is very nice, the 4K format looks excellent.
Excellent tutorial! Thanks
Love the intro...just the right length and the color scheme and closeup shots are great. Content is excellent and much needed for newby like me.
Thumbs up on the new introduction. 👍 Thanks again for spending the time and energy creating this and your other videos.
Love these videos. Keep up the awesomeness
You are hell of a shooter cowboy
New intro is great. Love the bloopers at the end. Reminds me you fast guys are still human lol. Another great video,, keep them coming.
Great video, good tips, out takes at the end are fun.
Intro was great. Good info in the video, as always. Thanks!
Really Like your videos ! they help get me through the long north east winter.
I always enjoy your videos and this one is no exception. As a newer shooter myself, I believe they should be considered “required viewing” for people looking to get more serious in CAS! Not only that, but I also love your sophisticated videography and editing which help to very clearly illustrate your teaching points. By the way, your new intro is great: Exciting, descriptive, and attention-grabbing... but not too long or obnoxious or anything. Finally, I’ll admit that I literally laughed out loud at 7:59 because I’ve definitely had that happen to me with the same reaction. Thank you for including that candid moment, but I hope your camera (or whatever that was) is OK!

Thanks! Just the mic, forgot to weight it down when the wind kicked up. Which always does as soon as the camera comes on 😂
Thanks for another great video. Very nice intro. Length is just right IMHO.
I like the new intro and always enjoy your tips.
Thanks for the excellent video, the slo-mo and your style of explaining do the job just right. Intro is secondary to me, but good anyway! If I would change anything, it's the writing - smaller letters (so I can see what's there) but higher contrast (so that 50+ eyes can still cope :) ). Really looking forward to the next video, you are making me a better SASS shooter.
Great video
I've been out of CAS for a few years waiting for my little guy (he's now 7) to get big enough to shoot...he finally is now!! YeeeHaaaa!! We've now shot 3 CAS matches together. Only my 6th in 6 years. I've been watching your videos trying to knock off some of the "mental" rust off. I have found that although I have not lost all that much trigger speed, I have lost the smooth movements. I haven't picked up a lot of "new" information on fast with transitions/shooting in the videos that I have watched, I have remembered a few things just by watching you shoot that I'm going to add (re-add) into my practice. You are a super smooth shooter. These videos would be very good information for the newer shooter who wants to gain speed in the game and I will highly recommend them. I also shoot a double and for me when moving forward or from the strong side I have always found that grabbing the shells while one the move causes me to bobble them in my hands and I had difficultly loading so I have always discarded strong side as that works for me, but I love the fact that you showed the benefits of both. I also noticed that on your strong side transition in real time your rifle action was closed, but in the slo-mo it was open. I know the rules have changed regarding that (one new rule I personally don't agree with, but that's another discussion). LOL But Thank you Dead Eye for making your videos and I look forward to shooting with you someday. (My last Texas match was Comin At Cha in 2012 where I incidentally missed out on a top ten finish due to their "plant and poke" rule and a slight foot shift on the LAST stage). As for jason60chev 's comment below. It's no shock to me that you don't shoot CAS anymore. The one reason I love this sport and couldn't want to get back into it, along with bringing my son, is for the diversity of the people and the game itself. You can be fast, slow, play with different guns, powders, and categories. You can be clean or super smoky, dress fully cowboyed up or minimal down, be super competitive or just out to shoot some old firearms with some great people and EVERYONE has a great time. If you want to put people down just because they want to better themselves, no matter what category they shoot in, then I'm glad my son is learning from someone like Dead Eye. Edit: I forgot to add that I like this intro....very CAS!
Really super! Every time I see your new video I push Like before watching - I know it will be great!
Awesome tips thank you Deadeye. Great pointers for our National shoot this weekend... (Also love the new intro)

New intro is fire! Love it mate
Excellent video, Dead Eye, and so true; speed, defined as the economy of motion, & well-purposed motion. The video comes off well, sir. - mkh
Good stuff, Partner! 🤠
Great pointers
Cool! Thank you for the video!
Excellent! The new Intro is perfect. A couple of us were debating about the best type of rifle/shotgun transition to use in one of the scenarios you covered, just last week! The video was well done, both in content and technical aspects. Thank you!

Thanks! Always fun debating the best way to shoot a stage. Gets funny though when you both do it differently and shoot the same time!
Love the new intro👍🏻
Just wondering if your going to posting anymore videos they have helped me a lot I’ve watched them all more than any video out there thank you
very cool
Outstanding! The new intro is excellent, I love it. I really enjoy the great content you are producing here and the superb production value. You're really good at this.

Channel intro is good.
Great stuff as always. Like the intro and the focus on different parts of the body. I wanted you to have clear or yellow lenses at times as I was trying to see where your eyes were focused during the slow mo transitions.
Good content as always. The new intro is very sharp. And I noticed a pair of chaps I am very familiar with in the intro.

Love the intro! And loved the bloopers at the end! Dead Eye, do you think you could do something like this with a ‘97? Grateful for you!!!🤠
merci
Looks good. Maybe add one short, wide angle posse-shooter-target scene? Thanks for posting your videos and tips🤠

The only posse out on my range are my gal and three crazy boys! Lol, and the targets ain't much to look at 😬
What has happened why no videos yours was one if the best
May I suggest a different hat, such as Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) is wearing in Tombstone?? I think it would fit your character quite well. A Master at what he does.
Would like to see this with a 97 shotgun. :-)
Could you do a Video about the guns that you use or guns you can recommend? Thanks and happy holydays
Video idea, How about shotgun to rifle transition, I would like to see the sXs shuck going into shotgun and shotgun pistol,
Great intro 2 years ago 😂
👍🏼👍🏼
Like it
I am left handed, thanks, I will now have both guns on the left side of me. I will drop rifle down and pick up shotgun while grabbing the rounds with my right hand.
John Marston would be so proud of you

I have not participated in this sport since 1998. All I read now is, Win, Win, Win. All of these drills, the minutia of movements for these "transitions"...hell, throw a ball scratch in there to make it more interesting.....practicing.....to me take a lot of the fun out of the sport. Yeah, sure, winning is fun, but we are all born will different skill sets and abilities....and desires. No matter how much I practiced anything, even if I had time, I would NEVER be able to meet nor beat all of you people. And so what? I never really cared about "winning" anything and the firearms that I used, for the period that I wanted to be in and the black powder cartridges that I fired, would never keep up with you "Gotta win at all costs" mindset people.
New intro is cool
