I know this video is three years old but still very current information. I just put a Rekluse in one of my WR450’s. Like you described, the cable clutch on these bikes is a bear! The Rekluse is amazing. Core EXP 3.0

So if you run taller gearing which keeps the rpms up will you have more engine braking?

your on a two stroke , alot less engine baking anyways vs a 4 stroke. I just got a ktm with a recluse radius cx clutch installed , you can still clutch if you want . great video !

I’ve just got a Husky FE250 (4 stroke) that has a rekluse and the engine braking works fine. If you use the clutch normally from starting to finish which I do you honestly wouldn’t know it had a rekluse, just except it doesn’t conk out and stall when you get it wrong 😂. I’m in 2 minds whether to take it off or not but I’m really enjoying having it on which I didn’t think I would

I'm running 250c+ in a 21 250sxf (hydro clutch) but my thing is when I'm riding hard battling for positions I've found that when I'm dog tire and still trying to push ill come into turns, creek, or areas where I need to slow down and is slippery a situation I'm in a low rpm with traction control on trying to keep my tire from spinning which results in flame out.... so I want to get one to try and help out with those situations.

These clutches are amazing! I enjoy electric bikes because you can just twist the throttle and go. Butttttt there are time I want to clutch over things and they just don’t quite have the power to do it when riding with speed. Dirt bikes are fun. But I always wish I didn’t need to use the clutch as much. Also, I hate foot brakes. Hand brakes always seemed more intuitive to me. So to have a clutch that lets you just rider the throttle and go like electric, but can still pop to clutch over obstacles is badass.

if you dont have engine braking its not adjusted right.. on 1/8 movement when high reving the bike... when adjusting it make sure you go above 4000 rpm .. and make the adjustment there.. i love mine !

so do you have to still shift and will it take off on you when your shift to 3rd or does it do it for you im so confused . and if your in 3rd coming to light do you have to shift down or just keep it in 3rd and wont stall

I bought a 2012 kx450 and it has a rekluse and I have no idea which model it is... I can’t use it as a engine break at all... I have to hold it in when I start the big and when I put it in gear it will drive off without releasing the clutch

You don't have your Free Play Gain adjustment right if you have No Engine Braking.. At Least my 17 KTM 300XC has a Lot More than your Video Shows.. Thanks

You spent a while complaining about cable clutch vs hydraulic. Have you tried a new cable or living yours? I’ve ridden YZs with buttery cable clutches and I’ve ridden some crusty difficult ones. I’ve ridden both cable and hydraulic and they’re both fine. Hydraulic is only slightly easier. Maybe you need to lube your cable? And a quick google search would have shown you can add a hydraulic clutch to a YZ for pretty cheap. Don’t need the orange bike or price tag.

Just like any dirt bike, or really any motorcycle… you can simply let off the throttle and shift up. Or blip the throttle and shift down. I’m amazed how many people think you need to use the clutch to shift. You really only need the clutch to start out. Or to gain more power/torque and quickly send it to the rear wheel. The Rekluse simply slips the clutch for you to allow slow riding and climbing hills without working the clutch.

Do you have to have good brakes because of lack of engine braking? I dont think you mentioned it.

@@chadrides914 Oh lord. I was trying to make a joke. Yes he did a great job on the video and trying to ride a bike and explain something isn't easy. It is easy to repeat something more than intended and that was what I was poking fun at.
