    I have a Rekluse on my KTM 300 XC and love it. I heard you say " I'll leave it in 3rd on the trails and lug it" do NOT do that, my buddy burned up his Rekluse in half a season cuz he isn't an experienced rider.....yet. Use it like any other clutch but enjoy the slow technical sections by just lugging through. Otherwise just use it as if it is a normal clutch, it'll last longer.

    I've had one on my YZ450 for about a year now. Rally tamed it down for technical riding. Allows me to focus on lines and makes for easier recovery. It still has engine braking, you just have to bump the throttle to re-engage it. Takes a little getting used to but when you do...soo much more control on the bike. This one sounds out of adjustment engaging late.

    I know to each his own, but I don’t understand when people knock Rekluse. It’s a tech advancement making riding easier and more fun. If you want to keep things hard, ride a 70’s bike. Personally after riding for 40 years, I’ll never have an off-road bike without one again. Also takes away most of the engine braking in a 4 stroke which I like. Sounds like you may have been riding a high gear on the track. Gear selection still matters with a rekluse

    Best way to ride with the rekluse is pretend you don't have it and use the clutch like normal. It will cover any mistakes of stalling and too high gear selection. That is one reason I don't like electric start. With a rekluse the bike never stalls anyway! Also it sounds out of adjust. with it in gear and no clutch it should drag slightly

    I ride a kx250 2t with a rekluse and it's a game changer in the woods I can go up some crazy muddy rocks that there's no way I could pull off with my clutch skills . There's alot of adjustment for the drag ,springs and play so you can get the right grip from the clutch mine is the cable style and my best adjustment it only slips at the very very top of the power it don't slip a bit at blipping wheelies . That one seems to be out of adjustment you can always call rekluse their reps are top notch .

    Wow - the video quality is awesome! Usually these video are so compressed and pixellated. My Recluse buddies are always telling me how they have it perfectly adjusted and a few rides later they tell me it is perfectly adjusted. They are constantly dicking with the things. 300s grunt so well, the auto clutch is not needed 99% of the time. There are some times though, when we ride the hard core stuff that the auto clutch is nice. The one thing I loved about the 4T I rode with one was he had a left hand rear brake on it and the combo of that and the no stall engine made for instant hacked out turn the bike with rear end slides at will - very fun. Would rather spend the dough on a Lectron carb for these bikes though.

    5 years, a dozen Hare Scrambles, 250 hours in the woods, and zero adjustments. Seriously... not one on my 350 EXC-F. The WR250f needed an occasional tightening, every year or so. I put the Lectron on the 300 with a Clake, but kept the Rekluse on the 350 with a LH Brake. By the way, the 300 just isn't as fun for me, it's for sale, Christini AWD and all.

    Kinda' like the first mini-bike I ever rode... a Honda QA-50. And I never used the clutch to shift on any of my bikes. They all felt like they had constant mesh transmissions. Release throttle a bit for upshift, blip for downshift. Easy-peasy. I rode everything from that QA-50 to a Maico 501 with a Bultaco 250, Husqvarna 400, and lots of other stuff in between. Ancient, I know.

    The only place I regret my Radius CX clutch is when I give up on STEEP climbs, always my fault not enough momentum, but then the front brake does NOT hold the bike, and I am usually not quick thinking enough to keep on the gas to keep the clutch engaged. I roll backwards, and both the bike and I meet the ground. Yeah, I might get a left hand rear brake someday... Otherwise I love it...

    I had one in a kx250 half a dozen years ago, it was great in that bike which had a tall first gear and not a lot of power off idle so it stalled easy. I had to experiment with the adjustments to get it set just right. My current bike a yz250 is much harder to stall so I don't have an auto clutch anymore even tho it would be nice at times. Don't abuse it too much, the bike will get hot and the clutch will wear quickly. Its like traction control leaving the bike in 3rd when you should be in first but its hard on it.

    My guess is this bike needs more free play gain. Slipping at high rpm means it probably has no free play gain and the screw on the slave cylinder need to be turn out (loosened). Just found this problem on my bike this week. Night and day difference in the top end of the rpms.

    @@SkinnySkinch then what's the difference

  • @SkinnySkinch

    @SkinnySkinch

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@nothanks2994 the difference is you can choose to use or not to use your clutch lever to slip the clutch, which can provide many advantages. You get a very smooth slipper transition with little throttle input which is the same effect as holding your clutch lever in ever so slightly and you can then modulate that slippage with the amount of throttle you apply. It's lazy sure if you want to think of it that way but think about the type of people that are dirt bike riders. Not everyone is a stud in perfect shape pro racer. Another advantage is that your bike will never stall. slam on the rear brake in 6th gear tapped without pulling the clutch in and bike just goes to idle. Not saying you'd ever need to do that but just proving the point of how it works. The product is made for a certain demographic in my opinion and it is a very good product for what it is. Also I believe the product used in this video is 3 generations old of the auto clutch design. The most recent rekluse clutch called the Radius CX or X honestly retains 100% stock bike feel with the added benefits I mentioned above, if you so choose to use them. I just rode in FL over the weekend and my buddy hopped on my bike for an hour or so. Later on that night we were talking and i mentioned something about the rekluse and he goes wait you have a rekluse on that bike? he had no idea bc he was riding the bike just like a normal bike.

    It shouldn’t slip like that in full throttle, you are correct it is out of adjustment. The way I have my Reklus.setup I can use my clutch as normal no slipping at high revs. A well setup reklus feels like a torque converter at stall through low speeds. You can be at a stop put yourself in third line up the hill and you don’t need to mess with the clutch the entire way up of you don’t want to and it will never stall. Makes riding so much more fun and a lot less work in technical sections

    Maybe I'm weird, but I couldn't get used to a Rekluse. My co-worker has one on his GasGas and I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I'm so used to grabbing and biting and slipping the clutch, but like I said, maybe I'm just weird

    I have never used a Rekluse. To me its like, are you really riding if you don't have to use the clutch? My brother had a Rekluse and really didn't like it, but I am sure they work well for some people. He said he couldn't bump start his bike with it which is weird.

    I'm sure it's cool and all, but it's best on motocross bikes honestly. Pure trail bikes usually have the low end grunt to pull when you need it to. Besides, it can really limit your skill once you reach a certain point. Good product, but not for all bikes/riders.

    Whats really like cheating is learning to use the clutch on your bike as delivered,Jarvis says it works. Most bikes 1 finger can run the clutch and its like magic if you spend the time to learn it.

    And I can drive a stick in bumper to bumper traffic everyday... if you spend the time to learn. I ride the bike to unwind and enjoy it, not to compete like Jarvis. For me? Worth... every.... penny

    A Rekluse will hurt you in the long run. It can make you lazy hurting your clutch skills that help improve your riding. I personally cant stand them I tried one on a yz250fx and a te300i and staying in the right gear felt near impossible so I had to keep slipping the clutch or downshifting to get back in the power. This is something I could get use to with time but its just not for me.

  • @Comil1983
    @Comil19835 жыл бұрын

    Rekluse should only slip In really low rpm, that one is way out of adjustment. They Work great and are easy to ride but you tend to develop bad habits that follow you when you ride any other bike without one.
