🛶➕🐉🪰🌊⛵ Riding Waves and Watching Wildlife on the Norfolk Broads' Smallest River

THE RIVER CHET, NORFOLK BROADS || Loddon to the Hardley Cross.
Things to do in Loddon, Norfolk. In this video, we take you on a canoe adventure along the River Chet, one of the less well known hidden gems of the Norfolk Broads canoe journeys. The River Chet is a small and scenic river that starts its flow from the charming market town of Loddon and into the River Yare.
We had never paddled this river before, so we were curious to see what it had to offer. We had heard that it was a great spot to see otters, wading birds, and dragonflies. We also learned about the Harley Cross, a medieval boundary marker that marks the end of the River Chet and the start of the River Yare.
The River Chet is a tidal river, which means that the water level and speed can change depending on the time of the day. We also had to watch out for motorboats, which can create big waves and noise. Luckily, most of them were respectful and slowed down when passing us.
This is a great one for Canoeing, Kayaking and Paddleboarding.
We paddled the full length of the River Chet, which is about 3.5 miles one way, and then back again. It took us about 3 hours in total, with some stops to enjoy the scenery and take photos. It was a beautiful and relaxing paddle, with some thrilling moments when we crossed the sideways moving water. We had a lot of fun and we hope you enjoy watching our video.

There are otter here but they are more nocturnal as the river gets busy with more people about, we also have grew seals up here. The bird of prey was a Buzzard, lots of raptors between Hardly flood and the Yare plus kingfisher's and Owls at dusk. Lots of people canoe here including me, you should try Rockland broad for a day out, put in at the New Inn 👍
