ABOUT WHITEFISH MONTANA
At the edge of Glacier National Park in the Northern Rocky Mountains is a vibrant town built around a shared appreciation of the wild. From the mountains rich with forests, lakes and rivers to the welcoming downtown, this is a place worth exploring and protecting for all those who love it.
Long before the first Europeans came to Whitefish, native American tribes inhabited the area, most notably the Kootenai, the Pend d’Oreille, and the Bitterroot Salish. The Kootenai lived in the area for more than 14,000 years, inhabiting the mountainous terrain west of the Continental Divide, and traveled east of the divide for occasional buffalo hunts.[7] Though trappers, traders, and waves of westward immigrants passed through the area during the second half of the century, it wasn’t until 1883 that the first permanent settler, John Morton built a cabin on the shore of Whitefish Lake, just west of the mouth of the Whitefish River. Morton was joined by the local logging industry forefathers-including the Baker and Hutchinson brothers-in the early 1890s. Logging crews “boomed-up” their logs behind a dam built at the river mouth by the Boston & Montana Commercial Company, which, when opened, created a rush of water that helped float the logs down the river to Kalispell.[
The Great Northern Railway was built through what is now Whitefish in 1904, which sparked the development of the town. Skiing has been part of the Whitefish area for more than 50 years. In 1937, the Whitefish Lake Ski Club obtained a special permit from the U.S. Forest Service enabling them to build cabins and trails in the Hell Roaring Creek region.

Tip for people going to Kalispell. Stop in at Moose's Saloon. Sawdust on the floor; throw your peanut shells there. Carve your name in the table or wall if you can find room. Some of the best pizza you'll ever have as well.

Different but still comfy. We had lowers when we owned street glides, so was missing those but still a great platform

I'm leaving Winnemucca Nevada on Friday the 28th for Missoula. Then Glacier national park to ride the going to the sun road on my way to Billings, then it's off to Sturgis. Staying at Shade Valley Campground.

What kinda windshields are you guys running / do you prefer on your touringbikes to ride in comfort and avoid buffeting? A special episode on the topic, perhaps? Safe travels. 😊🏍️

We both rock the Klock Werks 12" Pro-Touring on our Road Glides and they are our favorite windshield we have ever used. Great balance of performance and looks. Lance is 5'10" and Gaylin is 6" and the 12" is perfect 2lanelife.com/products/flare%E2%84%A2-for-h-d-2015-2020-road-glide?variant=32781599473804

It's gotta be a huge adjustment to ride rental bikes with standard Harley suspensions compared to your own bikes with your Legends, Ohlins, etc!
