    I always wanted to ride on the Cassiopeia when I lived in Japan but couldn’t afford it. Then I heard it got retired. 😢 Glad that they still use it for special trips. Thanks for sharing your experience. I really enjoyed your poem.

    Путешествие просто шикарное, всё молча рассказал, понятно без слов и лишних эмоций.Одно только удивило-такие большие порции еды, неужели за один раз можно столько в себя вместить, что в поезде, что в городском ресторане!

    Я смотрела с интересом ваше путешествие. Спасибо за возможность ознакомиться с частью японской жизни - путешествиями. Больше всего понравилась гора Фудзи. ( ?). Жаль, что можно было увидеть её только издалека ! Еды было более чем достаточно. и она , наверное, неплоха, но я бы с большим удовольствием побывала на Фудзи . Красота природы - это несомненный приоритет в путешествии, на мой взгляд. Еще раз спасибо!

    I agree. Amtrak trains are old. I just booked a journey from Seattle to LA in a sleeper car, it’s so expensive, but the train looks like it’s from 1970s. We need better infrastructure

    I've been to that cafe in Hirosaki a few times. A friend who lives there introduced me to it. It's wonderful! I love all the beautiful cups on display. The owner is also a good photographer and sells postcards of his work!

    Yeah, that's Mt Iwaki (I *think*). Still stunning to look at though, and is a stratocone very much in the shape of Fuji and had that lovely half-snow-covered vibe when I saw it.

    The pajamas look great on you! I love that you modeled them for us, lol. The views from the train were beautiful and I was drooling over that triple-layered bento box they served you. I would love to visit the places you showed us and see the cherry blossoms and try the foods you ate, especially the apple pie and apple tea. Yum!!! Nokkedon blew my mind, I'd go absolutely crazy adding stuff to my bowl there! Thank you for sharing your trip with us! Hopefully someday I will be able to see these places in person myself ❤

    The rock paper scissors with the door had me dying. Love the sense of humor that you have I also loved the poem. However it didn't make cry. I don't cry unless I'm so angry i need to cry or, well, we'll leave it at that.

    The looks of the train are epic and the dinner bento looks delicious (especially the bottom layer with ikura!). Loved cherry blossoms too.

    I read elsewhere that if you plan to have shower, you have to buy the shower card the first thing after getting on the train, because these will be sold out within minutes. On the other hand, tickets for those expensive suite rooms do come with shower card so no need to hurry.
