In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I'm raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family lead as normal a life as possible so please donate generously: gogetfunding.com/arewethereyet/
None of that would be possible without my official sponsors:

I was not so lucky, got charged by elk, knocked over by bison, treed by grizzly, first and only time in area.

I was at Watson Lake July 2023. A local man told me that they estimate that there are 90 thousand signs. I thought that sounded crazy until I walked around for about an hour. Incredible!

Glad you just say "I'm too lazy to walk, so I'll just take Chillie." I would too! Great corner of the hot spring, and, yeah, you did seem super relaxed after that. Sweet dreams!

My wife and I once did a hot springs getaway weekend where we hit a total of seven, one of which we didn't even know about. Leaving Calgary we went to Banff, which had two, the Cave and Basin and Sulphur Mountain. Then it was on the the rest in BC, starting with Radium and Fairmont, Ainsworth (THE BEST ONE OF THE TRIP!), Halcyon near the town of Nakusp. Finally what a surprise to see Albert Canyon near Revelstoke.

The Woodland Bison are supposed to larger than their Cousins in Yellowstone. They seem to always be next to the highway, probably because that's the best grazing land around.

The bison are Polish, on an exchange program with a dozen or two from the Yukon. Someone said.

Very cool gesture riding next to the gentleman on the bicycle. I rode to Anchorage in August and was very impressed with the bikers. And yes, there were a lot of bison. Ride safely, Clint

You travel around the world on a bike and have room for a pretty bathing suit??? I am impressed. Learned my lesson outside Moab when the hotel had a hot tub but I didn't have shorts. Since then I've packed a bathing suit. Thanks, Kinga!

In Aug 1997 a small black bear killed a 37 yo mother and a 56 yo trucker tried to help was also killed. Two other people were mauled- but lived. A tourist with a gun killed the bear or there might have been other fatalities. The bear wasn’t much bigger than a large lab dog. This happened at the hot springs you enjoyed.

Am guessing that is why the fence! Camping anywhere off-grid in North America would do my head in. Bad enough with the crocs & snakes here in Aus!

Its not that usual for vears to actively hint humans the way a cougsr might do. They are more often fighting over food or the human seemed threatening. Bears prefer food that doesnt argue too much. Carrion, gush, bugs and plants. Just because they are capable of apex predator status doesnt mean they arent too lazy for it. Follow proper bear protocol in bear country and incidents eill be rare. (Protocol does include bear spray)
