Ridiculous King Salmon Fishing
Спорт
Lake Michigan chinook salmon fishing 2017. All strikes captured on video! Sam headed back up to join me again, and try and top the giant he caught during our last trip out. See his epic fish here: • Chasing Northern Lake ...
The past handful of years have really been a struggle to catch many salmon in my corner of the big pond. Thankfully we've finally had fishable numbers again. Hopefully this is the new trend, and not simply just a flash in the pan.

Great job. I went fishing for Kings for my first time last year 7/21/17 out of Muskegon,MI Only landed 3 of 9 Kings. Did not have right kind of net lost 6 monsters at the boat. The 3 landed were 15,17,20 lbs landed 8 lb lake trout 8 lb coho & 8 lb steelhead. Only fished 6:15 to 9:15 PM. Just bought a bigger net today from Detroit Ultimate fishing show.
How did you get the high shot on cam? I'm looking to do that on my boat.
Awesome video
Love that you're posting your amazing videos again 👍🏽 awesome stuff! Keep it up! Where'd you get your hat from btw?

Holy smokes those some big fish. Well done. *returns to fly fishing for 6" trout in a small stream*

Looks fun. I forgot what big kings look like. We are only catching kobes on the west side (WI). Sigh. You guys got all the cold water this year. Keep the videos coming. Love it!!

The Consummate Sportsman The Coho run was pretty good. Got in to some decent kings late June, early July. Even the rainbows are scarce. Everybody is fishing for Lakers (kobes). Even the charters.
Nice vids I'm a big fan.... Maybe some single action reels ? For the fun?
Great to see video from you again, you were AWOL. Wondering how long your leads are on your dipseys? I think I saw snubbers and then a long lead??
@ConsummateSportsman

+Eric Chou Good to be back :) My dipsy lead is around 10' total, from diver to fly including the snubber.
just got back from our salmon trip in Alaska, had a blast and came back with a ton of fish. Coho and a few pinks.

Which boat and size? I've the Lund Rebel SS 16.5 with Merc 50 4S and considering taking on bigger water on ideal conditions days IE S SE winds under 10. Ontario. And then only a few 100s yards off shore. Limit it to NY Finger Lakes so far. Syracuse NY
how do they taste compared to AK saltwater king salmon, have you eaten both ? do you get white meat ones like we do up here in AK ? Sucks we can only troll 1 rod per person up here, what’s water temp ? noticed no life jackets, must be warm.
Give the people what they want!! Love it.

What lake is this?
Lake Michigan is producing Tunas. Looks like the future might hold many more screamin' lines and smokin' reels.

Anyone who knows the area can tell where hes at by looking at the bluff formation. :) Nothing beats Northern Michigan woods, waters, and streams.
The big lake out of Muskegon has been on fire this year, 20+ is not uncommon at all with a few 30s and a 42 so far.

Brendan Beishuizen It's been a wild season in the northern reaches as well. Did you see the other video I recently uploaded?
How fast do you guys usually troll on the lakes? Here in WA we troll around 2.5-3.0mph for kings and 3.0-3.5 for silvers. I was just wondering how it compares to our area.

Would be nice to know what port you're fishing out of, and what's the date. Also would be interesting to know what you're using, how deep, etc. A picture of your total catch would be a nice touch. Could have been a much better video.
Love to hear the clickers go.

For their size they dont really go anywhere. 20 pound king salmon 2 minute fight, 20 pound king mackerel 300 yard run haha. Salmon is good eating though.
