It sure does turn on if you don't have it in a case. I did say on the video it needs a timed shut off to reduce it going off in your bag. 👍

I think it is better to buy a head torch from a company which specializes in that kind of products. I have ArmyTek Wizard Pro v3 XHP50. It has 10 years of warranty and you can exchange the batteries easily - you can take some spare batteries and you do not need to charge anything during your angling session.

My mate got one, after 3 months the rechargeable battery wouldn't hold charge. Contacted RM and was told they don't supply spare batteries so that's another con to watch out for.

Mine works spot on so I can only tell you about my issues and it's been faultless.. I would open it up and look at changing the battery yourself

I'll stick to my ten pound Energizer that has a replaceable battery thus extending it's service life, 3 years so far. 😘
