In this video we are taking a closer look at a new snowboard on Ride's lineup for 2018/2019, the Ride Twinpig. The Twinpig is an evolution of the Warpig which has been around for a couple of seasons now, and brings some of those unique characteristics into a true-twin frame. The most unique thing about this snowboard is that it is a volume shifted twin, that means that it is naturally much wider and can be ridden at smaller sizes. This is going to allow you to carve more aggressively while avoiding heel and toe drag, and is going to make this snowboard a natural choice for those of you with larger boot sizes. I am also a fan of the asymmetrical sidecut that you'll find on this guy. This snowboard works really well as a freestyle friendly, do-it-all style snowboard, and it also comes in at a very reasonable price. Let me know what you think about the Twinpig down in the comments, thanks for watching.

    love the review. just rode it today here are my takes: 1) stiffer than I thought; 2) the width didn't impact turning but adds to stability. not the easiest to do butters etc.

    Awesome review. I think this board can give lots of fun in deep powder runs, cliffs, rocks, forests, with a nice floating stability. Also, I love that shape. That radius side cut is fucking savage.

    Love this board so much… ❤ I m 170 cm, 74 kg, 40 boots.. I was struggled in turning with my past boards maybe because of my knee surgery…. Browsing for shorter board, around 140 cm, but no one recomended me for shorter board, until one sales recomended me twinpig 142 cm 2024, he said it was as good as 150 cm board. It was correct.. easy to manuver, even in powder snow and black track…👍

    Love your reviews man, pretty sure you’ve convinced me to buy most of my boards lol. Looking for a twin pow board, you think this fits the bill? My current quiver is a bunch of twins right now, wondering if this overlaps too much with any of them (funslinger, the greats, DOA, scott stevens, process kilroy).

    Hi TJ, thanks for all the reviews! How would you compare the 2020 Ride Twinpig and the Jones Mountain Twin? Pretty sure you've ridden both. Just looking for reasons to go with one or the other? Looking for something that carves great, is decent to butter, has some pop, and needs to be adequate in the POW. I don't ride a ton of Park, but do hit smaller jumps and the occasional rail. Thanks!

    1 year after having this board, I love it. It softens up A LOT after riding it for a while. As someone who is 6'1'' 170lbs I regret getting the 157cm, wish I went shorter so it would be easier to spin the board.

    Can't decide between this and the Slash Happy place... wish they both had more camber and they would be perfect. Both flex the same, but I think the TwinPig has more camber. Also the TwinPig is a little wider (I need wide for my size 13 feet). But the Happy Place has carbon, and extra contact point, and a larger sidecut for carving...

    I don't have experience with the twin but I own and love the warpig. Based on this review and how he compared this to the warpig I think the deciding factor between the two would be how much do you actually ride switch and park. The warpig rides switch fine, albiet it takes a minute to get used to it because of the taper. Check last years Brandon Davis footage if you don't believe me. The warpig is a solid medium flex but not too stiff to butter. Him saying the twin is a bit softer would give me pause if I was buying as an all mountian board. The other question I'd ask yourself is how aggressive you actually ride. I find the warpig has made me more aggressive. The shorter tail usually isnt a problem until I start getting lazy and sitting back too much. Similarly the flat camber has a bit of that rocker swivel while flat basing it. I was used to camber before this so I had to get used to staying on my game a bit more when high speed and flat. The twin would probably alleviate these "problems" but I'm pretty happy with the board pushing my riding. I've had zero issues in the park with but obviously the twin is better suited. Seems like he isn't singing it's all mountain praises as much as last years warpig review though.

  • @BoardArchive

    @BoardArchive

    6 жыл бұрын

    I think they both work well as a daily drive, you could go either way. The Warpig is fun in the park too but will be more versatile for powder and better for carving. The twinpig takes a backseat for powder and carving (although it will still be solid) but will be way more fun for freestyle stuff

    Thanks Nick! I think that the Warpig is definitely going to superior when it comes to carving and powder. Honestly dampening isn't something that really stood out to me when I was riding through the chunder at Hood, but it held its own. I wasn't really getting bucked around.

    I found out about the Twin Pig last year and saw some for sale on Australian websites but they would say sintered base. I wrote an email to Ride to get clarification as their catalog said extruded and this is what the global brand manager replied: "Yes there is a twin pig, it was intended to have a high end extruded base due to cost (which if waxed and maintained properly is pretty much indistinguishable performance wise from sintered base). But we messed up at our factory and put a sintered base on it. All the stickers, and website catalogs ect will say extruded. (because we print those long before we make the boards). So the good news is, we aren’t going to raise the price for next year and we are going to leave the sintered base on it (going forward in 2020) we will most likely keep it sintered and raise the price to match the technology. The bad news is, everything is going to say it is extruded because it’s too much stuff to try and fix at the moment." That's good news for us if you are interested in one 😉
