Hey man, I ride a 1999 Bandit 600S as well, so cool watching somebody else ride one too, I managed to find one with only 15000km on it, we just had to replace the exhaust because there was a leak, but my dad's old Bandit 1200 exhaust now sits on my bike! I found your channel through the Cbr125 blow up but now I found this!

I see that you're from belgium, that's cool, I'm from the Netherlands, maybe we can ride sometime!

When I had a 50cc scooter I used to cross the border to Belgium just to have more fun riding around the potholes 😅. But honestly, beautiful country and scenery!

i commuted to school on a 99 1200 in amurica before it went remote. its in a lot worse condition than this 600 I was stored out in the sun for 15 years before I got it and 55k miles. I the calipers used to squeek but it was scale on the rotors, some scotch brite and brake cleen and it went away. the us ones came without the engine mounts on the bottom the holes in the frame just have plastic caps in them and I've been looking for them but no one seems to be parting out these. its a great bike

@@ROWHAWK Op die Bandit krijg je meer "erkenning" als medeweggebruiker. Dat is veiliger en dus relaxter, maar die 125 cc was een stuk wendbaarder, vooral in extreem druk verkeer....

How's a bandit 600? This Wednesday i just got my a2 license, and I'm looking for a bigger bike. Currently im on a Aprilia RS 125, which is enjoy, but still looking toward a bigger bike.

It’s quit good. It isn’t a race bike, but also doesn’t lack power. It’s way more comfortable than a 125 cc. Especially on the highway. Keep in mind, the bandit 600 is standard 78 hp (57 kW) and needs to be restricted to be A2. It is’t my dream bike. I bought it because it isn’t an expensive bike. And I’m not planning on keeping it. If I get my A licence I want to buy something else.

@@ROWHAWK alright thanks for the answer. I was also looking for something that could be sporty but at the same time comfortable on highway. Which is why i though the bandit could probably do both for a fair price. Gotta try see if I can try one🤠. Thanks for the answer

Where you do you live where you have horsepower restrictions? I just got my license last week and got a 53hp bike in Canada, but I can get any bike I want it dosent matter

Hi, I live in Belgium. There are a few country’s in Europe that have restrictions on bike licenses. Also The Netherlands and Germany. But probably more European countries.

is het waard om mn a1 te doen ik droom om motor te kunnen rijden (ben 17), of zou ik moeten wachten tot a2?

Goh, als het echt je droom is, dan vindt ik het dat zeker waard. Maar let goed op de kosten die je hebt voor de 3 rijbewijzen. Want van A1 wil je sowieso overstappen naar A2. Dus even goed kijken of je het geld er voor hebt of werk hebt om er voor te kunnen sparen. Kort samengevat, als je het geld hebt of bij elkaar kan sparen is het dat zeker waard.

@@ROWHAWK na 2 jaar je rijbewijs te hebben kan je overstappen naar het zwaardere met 4u les in belgie, kost 250/300€ ipv 900/1300

Ja, zo snel mogelijk je A1 halen! Met een lichte motorfiets beleef je net zo goed plezier. Je moet er wel rekening mee houden dat je minder snel bent en makkelijker over het hoofd wordt gezien. Daar staat dan weer tegenover dat je een stuk wendbaarder bent en dat heeft ook weer zo z'n voordelen. Zelf ben ik uit de tijd dat er geen rijbewijsbeperkingen waren en ook geen motorrijscholen. Je kon bij de politie tegen betaling van 2 gulden 50 (€ 1,--) een vergunning halen, dan kon je gaan "oefenen" op de openbare weg. Mocht ook een zware motor zijn. Examen voor je rijbewijs was een lachertje. Er was ook geen snelheidslimiet, geen helmplicht, geen spiegelplicht, enz. Tegenwoordig is dat wel anders. Al die verschillende motorrijbewijzen kosten alleen maar ontzettend veel geld. En waarom niet zoiets voor autorijbewijzen?

Sorry, yes but I meant the term: school. At young age I always said ‘I’m going to school’ and since I’m at university now, I still say ‘I’m going to school’ instead of ‘I’m going to university’

It is restricted to 25 kw ( 34 hp ) because it is an old bike, and back in the day young people were restricted to 34 hp. It was never reversed to it’s original 78 hp. I’m planning on doing that as soon as I got my full licence. I’m still restricted to 48 hp until I turn 22 years old and get my full licence. Gotta love the law.

@@ROWHAWK Im not sure for belgium but here you can take A test after 2 years of owning A2. So if you take A2 with 18 you can take A with 20

@miskey Almost the same. After owning A1 for two years, It’s allowed to take a test and get A2. And after two more years another test to get A licence. So at 22 years I can get my A licence.

why 35? isnt a2 48 hp?

Yes it is. But on paper this bike was already on 35 hp when I bought it.

Old regulations limit the a2 license at 25 kW after 2012 this became 35kW it’s an older bike hence the 25kW on paper. (They don’t check the actual power in belgium so derestrict it and enjoy the 80 horses! (I ride a 25kW de restricted bandit 600 n)

@@ROWHAWK also doesn't the regulation say that the power can only be restricted to a minimum of half the original power? so if yours is restricted to 25kw, the original power shouldn't pass 50kw? At least thats how it works in Spain. Although not many people know about it...
