    FANTASTIC JOB Audio great, and stay away from the blooming rapeseed. In Central VA we have our share of pollen woes. 14000 what a great feeling you must have Mr Goal oriented H8 rider.

    Yeah, rapeseed can be horrible. I had a sneezing fit the other day rounding a curve at the bottom of the hill. Kind of scary trying to keep your eyes open enough to see where you are going while sneezing at 38 mph, Yikes. Re 14000, I had hoped for 15k but the Jumbo distracted me Lol. Now my goal is to have both bikes at 15k by this time next year : )

    I may have spaced, or maybe I did and it did not make it to the video. For some reason I always like to talk to the animals, I even do it when not recording. Since I record a lot of my complete rides, I find that I talk to myself when I don't have my camera. Then I say, wait I am not recording. I am just talking to my self LOL I guess as long as I don't answer back, I am ok ; )

    Papa, Congrats on 14K from another H8 owner. One thing I'm curious about though about your bike. have you ever checked what amperage controller is inside the bag on the frame on yours. Though the newer ones like mine which I bought 6 months ago come with 27 amp controllers I hear some of the early models only had 22 amp controllers, curious about yours.

    Hey papa blue shirt looking to upgrade my front crank shaft to a single crank set !!! What crank set did u buy and what chain did u buy assuming it needs a longer chain !! It’s for my h8 !! Thanks love the videos !!!! Jim fuller

  • @papablueshirt

    Hi Jim, glad you like the videos. My H8 still has the triple chainring, but I removed the front derailer and only use the one. I did not have to lengthen the chain, I went to 50t. On my Jumbo I went to 52t and still did not have to lengthen the chain. You can see my H8 video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y2qlldqnlqi_hJc.htmlsi=oHVE_RoLLJ8iVD-w My Jumbo I did put a single on it, but that is what came off you can see it here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hKB2lpeHnKi1m9I.htmlsi=m0cCcwJumiECl8R4 I am planning on putting a single on my H8, however I am experimenting with crank lengths on my Jumbo, so I have been holding off as I will probably want them to end up the same to minimize the difference because of my back issues. There are links in the video descriptions of what I used, but not sure the H8 video will help you since you want a single. The single I used on the Jumbo will fit the H8 as far as the shaft goes, but not sure on the clearance. I know of someone who put a 53t on his and it fit, however he did have to lengthen his chain. So I think it will fit. One thing to look for is to get a removeable chainring, then you can swap out for a bigger or smaller ring as needed. Have you changed your freewheel? If not, I would do that first as it is a bigger bang for the buck. Hope that helps : )

    Yes, I still needed more as well. I went with the triple because I was worried about clearance. Even though I did not use the two smaller rings, it pushed the big ring out so I knew I would have clearance. My Jumbo I went with 52t and even though it is only 2 teeth difference between the bikes, on the H8 I am always thinking I have another gear to shift to. You would not think 2 teeth would make that much difference. I have since changed the ring again to 56t and it does really make a difference. One thing too, I changed to 165mm crank length from the 170mm, so that really makes a difference as well. There is so many things you can do. I am going to try to put a 60t on my Jumbo and see if it fits. I ordered a 58t as I thought that was about as big as I could go and realized that I still had room. When you get to the bigger chainrings adding a tooth or two does not radically change the size. I ended up putting the 58t on my EB9 you can see that video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5muz8OFfLmsn84.htmlsi=vYGY2MJxNabkDb_y The change was crazy in a good way. Made the bike so much more rideable. That bike the seat is not adjustable, so when you ghost peddle it can be really bad. Anyway, the main thing I would be sure to get one with a removeable chainring, then you can adjust if you need to. Chainrings are cheaper and real easy to change. It is like changing a tire. : )

    is there any way to chage the way the pedal assist works? instead of it limiting your speed to whatever pedal assist your on is there any way to change it to make it each pedal assist mode makes it easier to get to the top speed but while allowing all modes to reach top speed? this is my limiting factor of buying one

    My wife's RAD is like that, you can use the throttle to hit max speed in any pas setting. I know you can adjust the strength of each pas setting, but not sure if you can get max speed in each pas. You can set it to only 3 pas settings which would get you a higher range in each pas. I spend 95% of my riding in pas 5, so it has not been an issue for me. If I need an extra boost I just hit the throttle and the front motor engages to get extra speed. Sounds like you may be wanting a torque sensor that would be able to adjust with your speed?

    I've been wondering if you now prefer the full suspension of the Jumbo or the suspension on the seat post of the H8.

  • @papablueshirt

    @papablueshirt

    2 ай бұрын

    During normal bumps, they are about the same. The full suspension shines when you hit a large bump or pot hole. That activates the rear suspension and it really softens the bump. I rode without it 10,600 miles on my Ecotric hard tail, so the suspension seat post was a God send when I found it : ) I use the same one on all my bikes now. I got a sleeve so it will fit them all. So I just pop it out and transfer it to which ever bike I am riding. The only one I can not use it is the EB9 which has a motorcycle type seat.

    If you change displays, I'm about 95% sure you WILL loose all data. Like, where is the info stored? Battery? Nope, Controller?, only other place it could but doubt it. Tires, sure thing, that's why when you change tires you maintain data (ok, poor attempt at humor). But I think you should be a guinea pig and change it out, then let us know. Congrats on the 14k, now change the motor grease --- lol.

    Yes, that seems to be the consensus. I will probably just leave it. I did get one of those little magnifiers that you use for reading. I put that on top of my solar power pack, so I can pull that off and kind of see. Now hopefully it does not magnify and start a fire LOL
