    Couple scrapes, you'll be fine. I've been wondering if the puppies have grown up to be able to be ridden by Munchkins? As far as those crazy heat indexes, I had enough of the stuff serving in the U.S. Army in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I remember doing desert train in 89 at Fort Irwin in August with temps at 118 in the shade, and there wasn't shade unless you made your own. Heat Index, no clue. "But it's a dry heat!". Spend a month or so in 110+ degrees every day, and then we can talk about dry heat, cause in my opinion it's total BS. Patsy Cline, "I go out walkin', after midnight" another good one of hers. As far as the battery not being charged, fix the spoke on the H8 and just swap bikes.

    Hey Pops! About riding near cars and crowds: When I was a kid I was big in BMX then as I got in my mid twenties to thirties I was big in mountain biking. I loved the peace and beauty. But I started to get bored after so many years. So I stepped out of my comfort zone and I went to our Chicago lakefront. Wow! It was intense, insane and an adrenaline rush. The energy just pulled me and I got super fast and switched to road biking. Something about constantly scanning in all directions for threats, hazards just felt exhilarating! I've read having OCD and riding in those situations - the speed of what's happening around you is the same speed as your mind works and that's why it's a thrill. No idea if this is factual. The trick was to get out there at sunrise and done by 9am. It's gets so crowded early. You've see my videos and now 15 ish years later I doubt my reaction time would cut it. I'd wreck in a minute out there. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f6qDuaVxf72qYZs.html

    I know what you mean, I spent a lot of time as a kid in Milwaukee riding my skateboard in traffic. These were not the big fancy ones you see now, but the little narrow ones. I would kill myself going across the room now. Today I got my rush from deer. I must have seen 50-60 deer this morning. Multiple soft brake episodes and one panic braking I hope I make it episode. Seemed like there was a deer behind every tree LOL I never thought about the OCD connection, that could explain it. I listen to most videos on fast speed as that is how my mind works. LOL

  • @papablueshirt

    That is why it is so important to stay hydrated. Once you are dehydrated there is nothing left to sweat and you overheat fast. I really have to work to drink water as it does not come naturally to me. I just started carrying two drinks and try to drink both before I am done.

    I noticed you had the external Jumbo battery strapped to the top and not hooked up. What’s up with that? Does the Jumbo external battery connect differently than the H8? Would you consider wiring all 3 up to have 69 amp hours?

  • @papablueshirt
    @papablueshirt2 күн бұрын

    Sharp eye, you caught me LOL The H8 has the same battery. I was testing to see how the bike would handle with another battery there. It handles great. I now have it hooked up, it will soon show up in my videos. I actually got a little more crazy, so stay tuned.

    PBS, I have been following you and how you started with the Cassette and now you have moved to the Chainring to reduce high-speed free-wheeling. - For a little research - most other manufacturers including Philodo have ensured that to make these Ebikes right, we need to drop another 110 bucks in parts & tools.

  • @papablueshirt
    @papablueshirt3 күн бұрын

    Yeah, it seems they mass produce a few and all the ebike companies use them. It is ok for a slower ebike, it works fine. These faster ebikes, they need to have a bigger chainring. It is a pretty simple change though. I have done it on all my bikes now : )

  • @papablueshirt
    @papablueshirt10 күн бұрын

    Yes, when I put it on the rack on my H8, it introduced a front end wobble. When I changed my tires to the motorcycle type tires, the wobble went away. I think the Jumbo would handle it better on the rack than the H8 as it has the two batteries already in the middle. However, I have plans for 4th and maybe a 5th battery on the back. I will be testing it soon. I know CRAZY. That away I will have more battery than I want to ride at one time [I think] It seems like the more I get the more I want LOL. I am trying to get it so I can ride all my miles in the morning when it is cooler as those 110 degree heat index days are brutal. I will make 15k this year one way or another.
