Ride of the Kawasaki ZRX1200R

This was faith right here! I was allowed the pleasure of riding someone's personal motorcycle for this ride! If you have a motorcycle and want to have it featured on this channel, yes we'd do it! This was by far one of the most fun motorcycles I have got to ride and I have always been a fan of this retro racer call back motorcycle from the early 2Ks.

Its great to hear someone enjoy this bike! I fell in love with these bikes years ago, now have a 99 ZRX 1100 and 2003 ZRX 1200R. Whats really funny is you haven't even had a chance to experience it at speed down a really twisty road. These two bikes will never leave my garage as long as I can ride.

@@deez3814 How could you misread this statement, unless you thought i made them garage queens. Banish that thought from existence! I've owned over fifty bikes in my 60 years of riding and these have been two of my favorites right behind my 1997 Kawasaki ZX-11. I ride them all the time, my ZX-11 has over 75,000 miles on it. This passed year my youngest son talked me out of it and I let him have the bike as a gift. He still enjoys riding it all the time. We do yearly father and son trips, everyone can choose the one they want to take on the ride.I reserve the right to first pick LOL

@@gilbertreeves2084 Oh Gilbert , I have had my share of flashing red lights! My 1997 ZX11 made sure of that case scenario. Politeness with an officer of the law goes a long way in getting a warning instead of a citation too. Once I thought they were going to impound my bike on the shenandoah parkway but the officer must have felt sorry for me and decreased the amount of speed listed on my citation. I do have to say I deserved many more citations than I got. The reason for going to the naked bikes was to slightly slow myself down, it worked as planned now I'm only at triple digits once in awhile. I just bought another bike too, 2018 Z900RS Cafe, what a sweet ride! I can't help myself! Its an addiction!

Late reply. How would you compare the 1100 vs. 1200? I also owned a ZX11 (1993 model) and loved that bike. I replaced it with a Hayabusa and later a Blackbird…neither touched my soul the way the big Kawi did. The ZRX has been on my bucket list for 10 years. I sold the RC51 and I finally have room for one.

I own a 2005 ZRX1200R Eddie Lawson replica bought new from the dealership with 20,560 miles on it now. I have an Akrapovic Titanium full exhaust, Barnett racing clutch, 4 degree ignition advancer, jet kit, K&N air filter, and 3 teeth up in the rear sprocket. My bike ran 10.58 at the track 1/4 mile stock suspension with my 200 pound azz on it. Mounds of torque off idle all the way to red line. Best bike I have ever owned. Motor is bullet proof...I bought a brand new Yamaha FZ09 in 2017 and the bike only has 957 miles on it. My REX gets all my riding time....I can't tell ya how many offers I got to sell my REX over the years but money can never buy back time. This bike is a classic and I will never part with it...I also owned a 1970 Kawasaki Z1000a with only 9,000 miles on that I fully restored but I sold it when I was younger like an idiot...

That is a bad thing to tell me. Might have to show up on his porch with a stack of cash! lol. I am more after the 1200 version if possible but I am sure the 1100 is pretty potent as well. Either is very very rare. I remember seeing this one over at Indian of OKC one of the first times there and was advised it was an employees bike. Since then we have become friends and he threw me the keys and said take it for a video. I gladly did as I have been hunting for one to ride/review/purchase at one point. I am so happy it did not disappoint. This bike came at a time when the 1200 Sporty was $9500 brand new and this thing had all the power, the upscale suspension, the build quality, and so much more to offer and these started at $7899! What a time to be alive back then. They are almost going for that price again for goodness sake.

Went 3 teeth up on the rear, Ivans jet kit from the US, full Delkevic exhaust, 4 degree advancer - goes well. Even though its quite old just about everywhere i go on it people like it.
