I have played puff since melee I still love her ult incarnation but I think the hype at part of playing a character like her is when she’s a rather low tier or a joke character like melee pichu it just kinda feels like joke characters got nasty buffs this game that make em less hype don’t get me wrong puff n wario can do some hilarious n hype stuff but yah matchups like this for Terry are like 1- to me u gotta have counter picks but even puff has bad matchups not like she’s carried but yah it can feel that way if u used to play her in brawl & sm4sh those low tier upsets just make em feel all the more hype to me

@@cristianaguiar4383 no she’s not I knew I’d run into someone that says it that’s just like people who say jr is low tier the problem with puff is we are at ult there are characters like palu that can space & just out preform ur Ariel’s with a nair n that makes getting those rests n wins more hype cuz it’s not melee where spammers are just middle of the road to low tier there are some very good spaceys n spammers so that’s where she falls somewhere in the middle or mid high tier but she’s not low tier u just have to know matchups and she is fantastic counters against 1.5/3rds of the cast she’s a perfect pocket main but not solo viable however they made sing/rest & Ariel combos pretty easy to pull off compared to melee & just with all the tools they gave her like I said same thing goes with wario where it’s just not as much skill goes into those plays cuz they wanted them to pop off more n to me when they do pop off it’s just less fun to watch cuz it’s less earned but with the way the game is I don’t want puff to be a bottom tier character but just to someone whose played all the incarnations of the joke characters something about em being joke characters got taken away this game cuz their all B tier at lowest for them all those tier lists are made of bias people who place them there based on tourney results n lack their of

@@cristianaguiar4383 u gotta be a pretty big moron to line up playing jigglypuff, Wendy koopa & wario doubles lmfao gay man watch that typa stuff it’s already humiliating as is playing tiny peenichu that’s why they gave them all buffs n performance enhancing like affects to keep people in their playing em but to me it kinda lost the appeal cuz they made em all very easy to net wins with to get people back into playing the game but it killed a lotta the hype for me thinking people who main joke characters are all idiots that need to have kiddy locked padded safe characters or granper crapper characters which all the joke tier characters are the only way to play a true joke tier character is to go back to melee and just get scrubbing with any of em there that’s how joke characters are supposed to be that’s what makes em hype how did pichu win against fox in finales the world may never know but it was truly hype

Hot take: Jigglypuff is actually good. Like...if your character's recovery isn't great, fighting putt can be SO scary lmao

Bassmage played very well why did Riddles autopilot to airdodge to ledge so much? tho i guess Terry doesnt really have that many other options out of disadvantage against jiggs?

since terry up b doesnt snap ledge its very gimpable so airdodge to ledge is a good default

Bassmage is really good with edge guards and combos, but still Bassmage's punish game can be made better. He could have parried rested Terrys obvious specials, and he could have uair->rested, rested, although I have to say you have to be really good to do it.

@@AlexRodriguez-gb9ez I'd say he also needs to optimpuff ground game because puff has alot of useful ground attacks like, dash attack, jab, up tilt, down smash, etc

I can only imagine how annoying it must be to play Puff against Terry, who also has some large horizontal hitboxes and a much better horizontal recovery than a lot of characters, always approaching Puff with a hitbox. Elite Smash isn't for top players by any means, but the amount of times i have shut down a Puff with almost entirely crack shoot is large

Its actually a surprisingly good matchup for puff. Top 15 probably, and the only high tier puff can beat at an equal skill level

I’m guessing puff is so floaty so the usual combos doesn’t work, and Kazuya is heavy so puff surely can combo him

Needed the kazuya

Riddles did not adapt at all. Did not prioritize playing at center stage. Air dodges were mostly trash. Power dunked to the same spot off stage every time. I really like both players and seeing riddles play this bad was disappointing.

@@joriemorris9986 Point 1: You see every single Terry do those same combos--they're free. You don't see every Jiggs nailing the edgeguards like BassMage was. Point 2: Jiggs gets those edgeguards only while in advantage. Terry has his most dangerous tools available in neutral, advantage, and sometimes even disadvantage.

Riddles could have dropped down and recovered so many times, but used his jump at such bad places instead

It's INSANE how hard Bassmage has to work while Terry can throw out options that will literally kill at like 60% with impunity.

Disappointed in Riddles, honestly. Not sure if he had many options, but he tried air dodging onto the ledge way too many times.
