I love how invested everyone at the table is when Esther is in trouble. Grown ass adults, terrified that their friend's imaginary girlfriend is going to die. It's beautiful.

god nothing will ever hurt like the scene with esther showing her mom and grandma to ricky, that was, to me, the first time i fully saw esther allow herself to show ricky something that meant a lot to her. she lived in that emotionless state for so long, and when she finally saw him accept them as a part of her life, and by extension, his life from that moment on. just wow ouchie

Okay these firefighters are amazing. Just a bunch of dudes trying to be supportive and help him out. This is the only context for “boys will be boys” that I will allow.

My favorite part, besides this whole video, is Ricky’s himbo firefighter buddies being so wholesome with him about Esther. It’s adorable. And so are they. What I’m trying to say is thank you so much for making this I love it and have wanted one for so long

Emily’s background expressions during most of these scenes is really the cherry on top for me

It's really fun to have a character who doesn't really understand much academic or intricate magical stuff because the rest of the table can sit there and listen to it being broken down into the most basic ways of understanding. Like I actually knew the word Axiom but on the other hand I had no clue wtf Sinatra's Law was referering to and getting all confused.

The feeling in my body when ester was maybe going to die is like no other. I cared about her and their relationship so much

these two remind me of Ursula and George from George of the Jungle. Ricky and George are kind hearted, beautiful men who adore the woman they love, hang on to her every word even if they can't understand it they try and make an effort. Ester and Ursula are smart worldly women, who have big hearts and more common sense who just love their beautiful himbo

Okay but straight up? Chapter 2 has some really adorable couple shit between them it's so cute

Its not really mentioned but Ricky breaks a lot of tropes including the model minority trope that comes with being an asain character. Hes perfect, hot, and amazing... but not because hes a straight A genius. Hes a big himbo superman. Asian characters are not often allowed to achieve excellence in any way except academically.
