I got some serious goosebumps from listening to our British crowd singing!!! What an amazing atmosphere, what amazing fans we have. The booing of America's national anthem was especially brilliant!!!......

Great analogy. At the time no other nations played baseball. And any foreign player was welcome to try out for a pro team in the states. They called it the World Series cuz is essentially did consist of the world. Since the recent expansion of other nations playing baseball, mainly South America and East Asia, they have incorporated a championship series of all nations. Actually an overall good dude, he had a fiendish, half drunk crowd egging him on with a parodied Christmas carol, to go ever-forward, leading with his head the whole time, against an infinitely faster, and far superior fighter. It was a recipe for disaster; and it certainly was a disaster for Ricky.

spitfire e exactly it’s rivalry and passion doesn’t mean we hate America just takes away from the home advantage , imagine how proud and buzzed up Hatton must of been hearing god save the Queen in his dressing room than on the other hand you have the Americans letting their own fighter be disrespected on home turf . Where is your patriotism.

The chant "You're supposed to be at home!" for those that don't know means "we can't hear you?" "why aren't you singing and chanting?". I think the British couldn't understand why nobody was cheering and making any noise for their champion. They sing so that Ricky knows he's not there on his own, it's a massive cultural thing and the songs are personalized especially for the recipient. British fans sing for 5 days solid at cricket matches, even when they're losing by a mile.
