Trivia: Rick Wakeman is a big fan of Minimoog synthesizer. When it was no longer produced, Wakeman bought 9 of them for spares, therefore stocked for years

Great stuff, EXCEPT the video work. I don't know where it has become the 'thing' to have 10 cameras available and for it to be a mortal sin to sit on one of them more than 1-2 seconds, but I HATE it. Rick's best solo parts were ignored throughout the piece. I really would have liked to see his hand work, and for more than one second each time. Have people really gotten so unable to maintain focus and attention for more than two seconds that this nonsense is required? Somehow I doubt it. Pick a camera and stay on it for at least 20-30 seconds, especially during the close up solo work. Just because you have the capability to switch cameras like a manic switch flipper doesn't mean you should. I've gotten to the point where I find it relaxing to watch some of the musicians on YT who just film through ONE or two cameras, even better when it's an overall shot and close up split screen on the action. Having different camera angles and positions is a great idea, just use them intelligently, IMHO it would make for much more enjoyable watching. Does anybody really like this? It makes me dizzy and is detracting, personally. I realize I'm not the only fish in the sea, but good grief. Fantastic job, Rick and company, sure would have been nice to SEE it.

I feel the same, fully agree. Older live footages are much more pleasant in relation to camera work. I love Old Grey Wistle Test series particularly, they show each musician actually playing up close

I’ll probably piss off some Wakeman fans by saying this, but I’m gonna say it: I never really dug any of his “symphonic” stuff. It all seemed kind of pompous and overblown. I always liked him better with basic rock instrumentation-bass, drums, guitar, and his keyboards (of course)-like he did with “Six Wives.” Did he ever return to that kind of thing in later years?
